Overall, think things have got better and better over time in your case judging by your pictures. Can see the area you are concerned about and imo that is what I say i'd call a genuine touch up case that doesn't require too many grafts to put right. Might be mistaken but the pre-op pics in this thread look to be with wet hair? Would be good to compare where you are now with a dry hair pre-op photo.

If that is the only problem area, I wouldn't be too disappointed to be honest. I saw MarshallUK's thread where he met up with his surgeon Dr Bisanga after 12 months and the Dr mentioned one side was weaker then the other and he'd fix it for free. I'd say this could potentially be a similar situation provided that is your only problem area.

Yeah by the looks of it defo going to need a touch up. But it shouldn't have end up like this with 3000 grafts. Guess it's my bad luck.

I'll try uploading dry hair pictures before ht.

  2. 13 months update. Hair thickness has improved but scalp can be seen. Right side is better compared to left. There is cosmetic improvement but lacks density. Some grafts failed to grow, dont know why. Overall there is improvement and can hide density issue with styling but I could do that before transplant so dont know what to say anymore.

Attaching the pictures. Let me know what you guys think.

Looks good in my opinion, there is a huge issue with guys expecting to have full density. I posted a thread a few months back showing how different my hair looks when it's wet in bright lights spread apart as opposed to styled regularly. I will try and find that thread.

Are you kidding me mate! Seriously this looks good to you. Am I blind or you looking someother thread.

Dry hair will make hair look denser specially from top down view which you specifically asked for!

And what about the pictures posted before. Don't you see thin gappy hairline there. Really curious what's your opinion about it.

Should this be the expected result after 4500 grafts and year of finestride use.

I genuinely think you guys need to take up these poor results with asmed rather than telling guys not expect fwhat they paid for and consumed their time and energy for. I am growing tired of this pattern of shit results from asmed and ppl being told silly stuff.

He probably would be told 800 more grafts or to wait 4 more months like many others. xD ridiculous stuff going on here.

How does your hair look in normal lighting?

    What is normal lightning ?

What if pics taken in "normal lightning"/one specific lightning look bit better? Does it mean ht is all of sudden success and we should ignore how it looks throughout the day.

I don't think it should matter as pictures taken before the ht are under harsh studio lights.

9 months and 1 week. You can see why I’m depressed lol. No improvement at all, let’s get real this is about as good as it will get. Beyond disappointed, confidence is definitely at a low. My left temple is especially bad, the gaps are huge and if my hairs not combed over I look like I have a bald spot. CAC8F9DB-C77C-4573-90F4-749170AD750C.thumb.jpeg.b314d1f36409c71ff3104b3fabfc0c0a.jpegAC54E844-7170-43A8-8C52-A85846E88B01.thumb.jpeg.429073aa62a55b9f13b7887e9484df4b.jpegE9BBA6B9-1C22-4548-8C6F-338B27C10440.thumb.jpeg.9a87324e42e49c86f9c7cc7931d61ccc.jpeg8DBCF55B-CF80-4F50-9B60-7AFF2ECF4FFB.thumb.jpeg.3ded227d5e3614c4a73df06b15a97a83.jpeg61FBE0B1-2DF9-421C-A0C9-E5E4001FA4F9.thumb.jpeg.8ac820938dc582f5d69bc4e8fc9deb90.jpeg

No hairline should look like this at 9 months.

If there is already a talk of minor touch at 9 months so it means it's a botched result? "Minor touch up" with 800 to 1000 grafts would mean 4000 grafts used jus around the hairline. That's ridiculous !

I really hope things improve for you. Good luck.

I need some advice from any of you guys that have taken/still using Finasteride.

Does the medication cause a constant inbalance of hormones or will your body adjust to the drug over time?

I’ve been on the medication for 4 months now and it’s given me cystic acne. (It’s made my skin worse then when I was a teenager)

I take 1.25mg per day but wondering whether lowering the dosage would help? Should I try and ride it out for a few more months and re-consider the medication at 6 months.

    thanks

    Finestride rarely causes rashes etc

Yes it will mess up harmone levels if you take it irregularly or keep on changing doses often.

You are taking it above recomended level. Reduce it to 1 mg and see if skin get better. topical retinoid would help aswell.

Yeah I'm not having much growth yet either but it's only 5 months post op for me. However everything seemed fine with my surgery and the work seemed super clean and everything seemed to have gone smoothly.

However for you, comparing to where you were before surgery you definitely have had an improvement in the overall hairline

Thanks.  Yeah definitely. Hairline do look better. But its not what It should be I think.

Very few hair with low density.

I have followed your post and hope things will work out for you. I personally started noting growth at 4 months but it took 9 months to see the mature look. Still I did notice ongoing growth after ofcourse and certainly people who dont see me frequently would keep commenting on my hair getting denser. I’m just wondering why minox is not recommended for 6 months at ASMED. I was told where I had it done to stop it 2 weeks before surgery and to restart it exactly a month after.

    All the best.

Thanks . I don't know why asmed recommends waiting 6 months til one can use minoxidil. Every clinic has its own recommendationsso better stick to it. I am actually thinking of using it. It might help I guess.

To be honest man, this doesn’t look too bad for 7 months, you still have a couple or a few more months for it to noticeably improve and don’t forget the caliber of the new hair that has already grown will double in thickness giving the appearance of better density, hopefully your next update shows some more improvement.

Thanks mate. I really hope things improve coz I really don't want another procedure.

Ye I do feel like density might improve and give that so called illusion people so often talk about.

Dude this looks like a good result? Especially for 7 months. Can you post a higher quality picture but in direct natural light?

Here are the pictures in natural light. I don't understand how u call it a good result for 7 1/2 months. If having few more hair strands than before is a good result than maybe yes it is.

I would be great if any of moderators would bother to comment and give their opinion on this.

hey Kingbilla, what is going on??? I've been literally following ASMED clinic for over a decade, paying attention to the results. I've finally got the online evaluation, and I'm ready to send the deposit, and book flights for my October surgery. Should I go ahead with this?  If Not ASMED, I honestly don't know which clinic to go to that is better (for the price)... Even in my city of Los Angeles, I've seen several poor results, and the price is 3x more than ASMED clinic.  What do you think went wrong??? did you not follow the post op regimen?

Yes, i did follow post op regimen thoroughly.

From what I have read. This kind of results at asmed became frequent after they started taking in more patients a day and after they hired new techs.

Tbh I can't say anything on ability of the techs. The new techs might be very experienced . But it does seem like there is more focus quantity than quality. Might be due to the no. of patients who want to get their HT done at asmed.

But there are alot of factors that affects the final outcome e.g age, graft quality, the way techs handle grafts, how long they been out, no of grafts etc.

In my case grafts just failed to grow. Don't know why they didn't survive. My graft quality age etc was in my favour. Graft handling might be the reason, but it's just a speculation.

As for your question if you should go a head or not. I would suggest you to talk to asmed about your concerns and only after that decide what you want to do. Asmed did produce some good results recently. It's your call in the end of the day. Good luck!

Months 9 is when all 90-100% of the hairs should of sprouted .. u should get a magnifying mirror or camera and see closeup if there’s any small hairs sprouted that can’t be seen with the naked eye .. u see bare land , then no more hair coming .. I thought for sure u would get a good result .. u had a lot going for u.. hair type good , hairloss wasn’t bad .. n more than enough grafts for the area covered .. it’s disappointing to see .. hope things get better .. keep us updated . Thanks

Yea I thought that aswell. Especially at the initial stage. God knows what happened. Really disappointed with how thing are turning up.

I am actually very surprised with the result especially considering the number of grafts I had . I will try to get the camera. But I try not to think any it. It sorta helps. xD

And btw, the first pic with the flash where the hair is brushed up looks much better than the second where it's parted.  I've seen many cases of hair looking like that first pic and then thickening up later on.

Yea that's because it "covers up" the bald patch . I can't do any other hair style. Sorta stuck with it.

Regarding looking at no. of ppl with slow to medium growth is a long stretch. I doubt it will ease the anxiety for any1. Plus it's the recent results that have been poor (I assume).

  14. 7 month update:

Well what can I say. Pictures shows the story.

Density "improved" a little but scalp is easily visible. Don't think density is the major issue now,  i think many grafts just didnt grow.

Left side has big spaces in between. Right side is somewhat better but I am not really worried about that as i can hide the right side easily by combing hair over.

Hair should be much better at this stage. I think I could have easily gotten this result if I went to any mediocre surgeon. This is not what one expects from Asmed.

I spoke to my coordinator she told me that doctor Erdogan recommends to wait until 15 months. I was not expecting any other answer tbh.

I wonder if asmed has changed the technique or the way they handle grafts now that grafts don't survive. Whatever they done they should go back to old ways as this is giving terrible results.

Looking forward to what you guys have to say!
