  1. Hi,

does anyone get a sensation of "burning scalp"?

It definitely gets worse for me if my diet isn't very good (sugar, wheat, alcohol).

Not only that, but if I do drink alcohol, my hair is so thin the next day I feel like shaving the lot off.

    Thanks for any replies.

  2. What's your diet like? I really think an anti-inflammatory diet slows down hair loss and makes what you have look a lot better.

The process that makes hair fall out is an inflammatory one. If I have alcohol, sugar or wheat I get a sore scalp.

After a night's drinking some of my hair falls out the next day.

I recently bought a Nutribullet and am having smoothies every day. I recommend juicing and blending.

I haven't gone on any medication and would rather not as my hair loss is mild and diffuse like yours.

  3. Hi all.

Thanks to everyone who contributes to this very useful forum.

I'm male, 44. I have moderate diffuse hair loss on top and at the crown. It's got to the stage where I'm considering an FUE HT.

I was thinking of combining the HT with a long holiday so that when I go back nobody will know I had it done!

Would 3 weeks be enough, assuming FUE? A little bit of redness I could put down to sunburn or a phantom skin condition but I really don't want anyone knowing. Would the hair have grown enough?

My other question is about shock loss. Does it always happen and would it be a giveaway that I'd had a HT, even a few weeks afterwards?

    Thanks,

    Ed.

  4. Hi everyone

I've been lurking here a while. I think it's the best resource by far for people thinking about a HT.

    Anyway,

I'm 44 and starting noticing hair loss at 36. I've always had thin hair especially at the crown and at 36 it started showing down the middle.

Now here are what I think are the interesting observations.

My hair seems to subtly change condition according to what I eat; so much so that people comment on it.

    * If I drink vegetable juice my hair gets darker and the greys subside. Seriously, my hair gets less grey at the sides. This seems to happen within a day or so.

    * If I drink fizzy drinks, caffeine, alcohol or eat anything with too much sugar in it, or the very worst of all, anything with WHEAT (or any thing with GLUTEN) in it, my hair looks thin and grey for several days.

    * But... if I have a daily WHEATGRASS powder drink, my hair really thanks me for it and within a day or so looks a lot better.

Also, scalp massage really seems to help. It doesn't seem to work so well using my fingers but with a scalp massage like this youtube.com/watch?v=dJ2ZRGA4mqQ

Sorry if this is the wrong forum but I don't think it applies to the herbal remedies forum and I want a lot of people to read it if it helps or they can at least agree!

    Thanks,
