I'd give up one of my mistresses...

I remember once I switched from nizoral shampoo to a caffeine shampoo and that was a terrible move. I lost so much hair it was traumatic. I wouldn't recommend caffeine shampoo to my worst enemy

rahal is great for fue, no doubt. but he is great for FUT also. Seriously consider FUT and maybe getting 5000 grafts this first pass. if you get to the right DR, you will get a full head of hair with 5k grafts and you can do it in one shot. Please consult with hasson and wong and some others. I am pro FUE but I really only need my hairline done. You are an extensive case. I would try to get as much done with your first pass.

Thank you esrec for the reply. My doctor didn't recommend anything. In fact I totally forgot to ask him about the questions I asked here. We mainly discussed FIN usage which I am having trouble with. That was our main topic of discussion.
I am just curious if you are on fin now?
-
check out ftbpicks thread with his results from day one to 1 yr later. that might put you at ease and get you excited at the same time.
-
why don't you try topical fin. I had side effects with oral fin but I didn't have any with topical fin for some reason.
-
does anyone have input on true and dorin.
-
go with your gut. if it feels wrong don't do it. there are hundreds of other dr's to choose from
-
cool thanks I will check it out
-
why don't you consult with another ht surgeon in your area that is recommended by this site? he will probably know more abouts going on with your scalp then your GP. why don't you pm one of the drs on this site?
-
just started looking into this. has anyone tiend stinging nettle. its supposed to raise free test but lowers it conversion to dht. lots of research out there on it. also you can stack it with other supps

Ofcourse Bill is going to threaten to kick you out of HRN, you've questioned the credibility of this forum (rightfully so) and he's not doing anything, but defending Dr. D.
This is a great forum with great info, but when a hack like Dr D is allowed to be recommended after all the negative reviews, then it's obvious the Mods care MORE about $$$ at the end of the day and not the members. Sorry, but that's how I feel.
I feel the same. if bill bans paleo, he can ban me also

I wonder is there a reputable surgeon on this forum that might consider offering options to Paleo for repair work pro bono if ultimately needed. Obviously one should wait twelve months to see your final results but I suspect the next six months may just be as anxious for Paleo as the previous six months.
But if Paleo had a commitment from another surgeon to fix things after a year if things don't improve, well I'm sure that could make life a little easier for Paleo in the months to come.
here is the thing, if a surgeon is going to give a member on this board a free surgery, I really feel that members of this board should make a commitment to reward that surgeon with some business. obviously no one works for free and if a dr commits to help one of our own then we help that doctor out by getting ht's from him.
-
I also agree with above, check in with dr. feller, blake, konior or someone else. find a quality doctor and go get repaired. maybe just go FUT with feller, konior or rahal. they are slam dunks in my book.
-
paleo, I hope you take a screenshot of your face being put out there by the clinic. that was very unprofessional and unethical. if you don't have a lawyer you should get one and sue the f out of them...
Also, My apologies. when you first posted on here I was reluctant to fully take your side and I was wrong. You have been through a very traumatic ordeal. Thank you for sharing it. You are a class act in my book.

who cares about doganay anymore. there are SOOOO many other choices, why get hung up on doganey. Pick a better doctor and give him the attention they deserve. forget doganey.
-
like said by many others, MSM is the way to go.

Thanks. Why do you recommend vit k2 with d?
from personal experience. but there is a lot of literature out there to support why k should be taken with d. some people don't absorb vit d and need k with it. I am one of those people. I did 50,000 ius a week for 12 weeks (dr prescribed) and my vitamin d was still very low at 18. I added vit k and did vit d 4000 ius a day and after 3 months my vit D was normal. a lot of doctors don't even know that k is just as important as d. make sure its vitamin k as mk7.
-
you should look into taking vitamin k2 with vitamin d.

can we see a pic of the back where the scar line is?
-
ah ok. from this pic your point comes across very clearly, you should have posted that earlier
I see a lot of people questioning me, and telling me I should have been aware of my own hairloss. I think many people spent so much time on these forums and researching HT-s that they forgot what it is like to be simply just young, uneducated, confused and depressed about hairloss.I just want to show you my preop picture that I sent to Dr Doganay before the procedure. I Some of you may say that I clearly had thin hair, but I always had thin hair and I wasn't aware how bad the situation is. Whether you believe me or not. Notice that I am even standing under light.
I truly believe that when you visit a professional who makes a living out of treating hair, it should be their responsibility to carefully assess and inform every patient. It is not evident for everybody that they are indeed way down the road.

I don't know, everything has it's risks. The trauma of losing his hair in a few years with a fake island of hair at the front may be enough to make him wish he'd risked a few boner issues. I have to admit since taking Avodart over the past 4 months my old chap has been slouching a little compared to its former glories (TMI perhaps, haha). I'm hoping Propecia will be less impactful on the downstairs department when I switch to it in a couple of months. I'm not about to give up the hair medication though, nooo way.
I have taken propecia orally and topically. the topical version I took in my early 30's and I had no sexual side effects. but the oral version gave me sexual dysfunction. I am on neither right now and am following a very strict anti inflammatory diet and am not experiencing any hair loss and my hair is looking a lot thicker that last few months. even my donor area has gotten thicker.
I have been there- being with a beautiful girl for the first time and not being able to get an erection. its a dreaded feeling. I don't wish that on anyone. its a very tough decision cause I love love love having hair. but at the end of the day, my penis wins. it usually wins. lol
not to derail the thread but I take 3,000 mgs fish oil a day. 2000 mg of vitamin C a day split into equal doses taken 12 hours apart and 600 mgs of NAC. I really feel the the vitamin c and NAC have helped a lot in my case

What does his age have to do with not touching Propecia?
To expect a refund if the growth is poor seems pretty optimistic after the way he's approached it here i.e. full on attack.
the o/p is in his early twenties with no kids. Possibility of permanent damage to endocrine system. I have a best friend that took propecia in his late twenties, he was a good looking guy and picked up a lot of girls but couldn't get a hardon on propecia without the use of Viagra. after a few years on propecia the Viagra lost effectiveness and even taking 3 Viagra at a time would only give him an erection for a few minutes. he's off propecia now for 5 yrs and still needs Viagra and has 0 sperm count.
you are playing with fire with that drug. if I was in my 60s with no sex drive already I would maybe take it. or if I was an actor and I needed my hair to get work.

I don't fault him for never touching propecia. not at his age. the o/p made a mistake by going forward with a ht but that's over with now. Dr. D messed up on his case. he should give a refund in a yr if the growth is bad and just be done with it.
Bad Experiences happen and I feel bad for paleo. a ht is supposed to be a happy time of excitement. not of misery.
if you feel the need to warn people more of what happened that's your right and I am sure you may helped someone already with your warning so thanks for that.

you cant go wrong with konior. if he takes you on as a patient I have no doubt your results will be as close to stellar as you can get.
