Guys, its with a lot of joy I am here to announce yesterday I hit the 4th month post op.

Things here are doing pretty well, but I have to be patient.

Growth is starting to improve but day by day I can't wait to see my head full of hair so the paradox is that it seems even slower, when in fact its not.

People around me are complimentating to me every day saying how good they look like and how much they're thickening and growing.

I hope we'll see a huge improvement around month 5-6.

Additional informations: I'm following a healthy diet with plenty of fresh vegetables and fresh lean meats + multivitamin pills daily (supradyn) + zinc and iron supplement + Finasteride 1mg/2 days + Alpecin shampoo daily.

The skin is a little bit red still but its fading away. Same with the dry skin on the recipient area, if I scratch it its still a bit flaky but I guess thats normal.

Thank you everyone for all your concern and for your wish to stay updated about my progress. I really didn't know that my operation was so important, it felt normal to me and this forum has proved to be a great source for progress info and photos.

Now that the forum trolls are gone, I think it would be selfish to not keep track of my progress with you all. If my experience can help anyone out there, then its worth it.

Long story short, I am 3 months and 15 days post operation.

Month 1 and 2 were basically a wait game between dry skin, pimples, and tiny hair poking out.

Now more and more hair are showing up, some are already thick, some are thinner and lighter color, some are even shorter. I noticed also some of them are double or triple, which means the graft are healthy and alive.

Soreness and red skin are slowly fading and I've been going outside without wearing a cap, you can't really tell. I guess from now on its all improvement.

Due to the insane amount of trolling I've recently stumbled upon in Dr. Maral's threads, I have decided to leave this forum and not update this thread about my progress anymore.

I've been personally attacked, even in private message, over and over by the same forum member with fake profiles, accusing me to be payed by Dr. Maral to promote him on this forum with my thread.

I've been molested at the point I had to block 7 different sockpuppets profiles of people that continued sending me dozens of PMs every week saying how bad Maral is and how poor my result is gonna be.

My intention was to share my operation and my results in the upcoming months so that anyone could see, decide and judge by themselves.

I'm only a 24 years old guy who had a great medical experience for a competitive price and who just wanted to get a simple, cheap, small HT to cover an unesthetic defect on my head that has been preventing me from living a regular social life as everyone at my age does.

If these users want to keep shoveling shit on a cheap surgeon thats simply doing his job, go ahead.

I'm not here to get insulted, accused of being payed, trolled, molested or to keep hearing how my result is going to be absolutely shitty and how I've wasted my 1700 Euro.

Therefore, I'm leaving. Time will tell.

I'm surprised how you're even on a hair loss forum if you're not even aware of how bodies and tissues can react to a surgery.

Even 20k USD surgeons can achieve terrible results.

Yes for 50% it is success if this is the final result stage otherwise may be there is still chance for more growth.

I think the same thing could have happen with $9000 if it is the gene that rejects the grafts, its hard to know at this point.

I fully understand your point of view and I agree with you.

The success of a hair transplant is not only the new hair rate, but also the patient's perception of himself/herself after a long enough period of time.

Some patients are going to be happy even with a objective mediocre result. Why? Because it will still be an improvement compared to before the HT.

Some patients will never be satisfied even if the surgery would be close to 100% success and they end up with a head full of hair. Why? Because they had different expectations which most of the times are the reflex of different inner issues, mostly psychological (appearence dysphoria).

I shall say you should always be realistic when about to undergo a HT surgery, because it will never give you back the density we had when we were way younger.

For 4k grafts, like you said I would be between 50% and 70% satisfied. Surely I would have something to comb and touch on my head, but I would personally plan a follow up surgery to attempt to cover the crown area.

Unfortunately, the crown area has one of the lowest success rates in the world of HTs and its not fully medical explained why.

But thank you kindly for sharing your experience with Dr. Maral.

There's been some bashing on him lately but I still believe we can appreciate this result.

Sorry for late reply guys.. I'm a college student and as you know spring means only one thing for us.. EXAMS!

Anyway, I'm 7 weeks post operation and right now I'm going through a nasty pimples period.

My recipient area has been having pimples all over it since... hmm.. i'd say 10-14 days. Most of the times I can pop them but after that there's a bit of bleeding and the area is a bit sore for a couple of days, so I don't know if its really worth popping them or if I should just wait their natural healing process.

My scalp on the whole head (sides included, which have not been touched by either harvesting or transplantation) has been dry and flaky, so I wonder if I should start using a moisturizing/hydratating/lenitive/idontevenknow gel to avoid this. I wonder if it might be also caused by spring/stress/hormones/foods habits.

Beside this, my growing continues and Im still extremely satisfied with my result.

All the hair have shed and they're slowly growing back. Some are thinner, some are thicker, some are shorter and some are already 1 cm long

When going outside I'm still wearing a hat because the recipient area is still red

Edit: I also have to say... and its my fault, I'm touching the area a lot. Its a bad habit, I know, I'm working on it. I should probably stop because even if clean hands will always carry bacteria and dust on them and, when popping the zits, it creates a micro wound on the scalp, which might bet infected. So yeah I'll try to touch my head as less than possible.

Using Seba Med shampoo daily and Bepanthol cream lotion when scalp is very dry and flaky.

I'd say it's good as long as it has the plastic addition on and you don't press it against your scalp.

I was looking on google for a pic of a similar razor but they all had the visible brand on the handling, and I wasnt sure if we're allowed to post brand stuff on the forum pages so the only one I've found without the brand name on it... was a shaver for animal fur, hahahha!

Anyway I haven't trimmed yet, I'm getting some pimples on both the donor area and the recipient area (nothing serious), seems to be a common consequence after a FUE HT so I'll just wait til they'll be gone.

The hair on the back are getting longer, so I'm thinking to trim them by myself.

Is there any risk for the donor area? Is it dangerous to do it or too early?

Can I also trim the recipient area? Of course paying attention to not touch the scalp

I honestly don't like the criteria of a "natural" hairline? Is it like a really high hairline that still looks like you're balding? Because if Hesediel's hairline is considered unnatural then I would go with unnatural all the way. I'm not gonna get an HT only to stay with a high hairline because it's the "natural" thing to do. Like if I was not going bald, i'd have a high hairline? no I would not, therefore it's not natural.

I think "natural" and "unnatural" can also be a very personal prospective.

For example, even when i was a teenager full of hair I was never a boy with a low and aggressive hairline. Everyone in my family, even my mom, have some degree of balsness and/or high hairline, so I'm used to see it and to me it looks natural.

Probably for those who in the past had a low hairline, a low hairline HT will make them look "natural" and closer to how they had been years ago, but of course considering also the harvesting capability of the donor area

I think it looks great and bang on target for the timeframe since your HT. Almost all mine shed within the first 3 weeks and now I am really happy with the results. I was one of, if not only the first person to post on this forum about having a 3200 fue HT with Dr Maral, which was about 14 months ago. Shortly after I posted I also received criticism that I wasn't very happy with, which wasn't directed at the way I looked or the design of my hairline but about the fact I had said that my HT was conducted by technicians. Anyway I can totally understand the way you feel and it's only when you have gone through with a HT that you will know what I am talking about. For the first couple of months it is a very personal emotional time, which can even bring bouts of depression, especially after the graft hairs shed and you enter the "ugly duckling" stage. When you post on these forums it is my opinion that you do so to let other people know about your experience to help them make a life changing decision not so much to be criticised about how you look or whether your hairline is high or low etc. Because of the comments on my post I seriously thought that it's not worth the hassle, however I decided to continue, which I am glad I did as I know for a fact I have helped a lot of people. Just look at the amount of views my post has received. Anyway please keep posting your updates and don't get caught up in the emotion of other peoples opinions. ;-) UK 43

I will keep posting my updates so they can help anyone out there whos not sure how, where and when getting their HTs, as much as you guys helped me choose Dr. Maral seeing your amazing results.

The feelings and the personal emotions in a HT can be strong.

We put time, money, expectations, hope and our very life in a hair transplant. Hair are part of our face, which is our business card when we meet people in the society.

I am open to criticism when constructive and even if, like you said, the hassle is strong, I'll keep updating month by month, whatever the result positive or negative in a couple of months will be.

Thank you for your kind words UK43. Sure, the ugly duckling phase right now can be disappointing, but I'll keep my chin up and give time to time, I'm only 1 month post op and I can't ask for miracles.

So as soon as I'll have anything to update, check out pics to come and, who knows, if the result will be bad and the hairline will look unnatural then we'll take care of that eventually with a follow up operation.

I find it very curious how you signed up only to come to this thread and saying it looks bad, without giving any contribution to the forum.

I'm posting personal photos on a public thread open to anybody for free, I'm perfectly aware that theres gonna be both positive feedbacks and negative feedbacks.

But its also very curious how there's so much bad talking about Dr. Maral since one and only forum user had a fit about his failed surgery (surgery that failed with a previous surgeon as well).

Too many suspicious things.

Your donor area looks cool but the hairline looks very unnatural. It seems that the doctor who operated on you didn't really put any effort to design a natural looking hairline. I hope you don't mind my observation.

You are young yet and after losing your native hair you will have a roundy hair spot on top.

I have started saving money for my operation which I hope to have after 1 year but in the meantime I can get all the knowledge after seeing all kind of results from different doctors

I absolutely LOVE the way my hairline looks.

It couldn't have been possible to make it look like more natural than this.

Consider:

1) It fits my face shape and size (which I'm obviously not posting on a public thread in a public forum to avoid identity thief)

2) It looks EXACTLY how it looked like before losing my hair (which you have no idea about since you haven't seen me)

Dr. Maral's work is absolutely outstanding. And the new hair already poking out, amazing.

I'm so happy I can't even describe it.

1 month post HT update:

I have no itch or pain, however the recipient area is still a bit numb.

I've had no pimples or dandruff.

Majority of the transplanted hair have shed, but I can see already the new ones poking out.

The recipient area is still slightly red but that'll go away only with the passing of the time.

Are you talking about scabs or grafts with hair and follicles in it?

If its just white-yellow sbacs/crusts its normal, they have to fall to maximise the healing process. If you're talking about full grafts with hair and follicles in it, that shouldn't really happen at this stage since its quite early.

I am not too sure about a specific post HT diet, I just eat healthily and took regular vitamins with the only other supplement being L-Lysine (1000mg) tablets on a daily basis. I am not sure if L-Lysine helped but I decided to take it because it is an amino acid protein that makes up the structure of all cells and tissues in the body, including muscle tissue, internal organs, tendons, skin, hair and nails.

 

I bought them from the following health supplement store in the UK

 

L-Lysine (1000mg) | Amino Acids | Holland & Barrett

 

I don't think drinking alcohol will be an issue, especially if you drink in moderation, but if you smoke I would definitely advise you to cut down or try and quit as nicotine causes vascular constriction, which results in a reduced blood supply to your scalp, and you don't want that to happen as all those little grafts need as much help as possible!

Sounds great, I'm gonna order that supplement, plus I bought a multi-vitamin and multi-minerals supplement with also zinc, copper, magnesium, iron and everything. But extra Lysine won't hurt.

I asked because I tend to have a unhealthy nutrition (caffeine, sodas, red meats, smoked meats, fried food) a lot and I might have to cut that down, along with alchool. Afterall, its for the sake of my hair, and theres no food in the whole world worth a bald head.

Personally I think it looks remarkably well considering it's only 20 days since your HT and your skin doesn't look that red either. More than likely your implanted hairs will now shed over the next month, but as I am sure you know from your research they will then regrow from the newly implanted follicles and start to reappear after a few months. If they all come back though in the same pattern you can see at the moment it will look fantastic by the 8 month mark.

Also, I hope that the fact I'm young (24 years old) will make my healing and my regrowth faster than usual.

By the way, is there such thing as a "post HT diet"? I mean avoiding certain foods, alchool/smoke, taking supplements, specific vitamins etc etc?

Hey hey there guys, I'm doing alright.

Today is day 20 and a bit of shedding is starting. I can find a couple of hair on my hands when I wash them or if I scratch my head. The scalp has been a bit itchy lately and I've had a bit of dandruff but I don't think its related to the hair transplant.

I know that now ahead of me theres months of waiting and I have to start accepting the fact I'm going to lose the transplanted hair buuut... I actually liked to see myself shaved and with a nice hairline!

I'll keep you guys updated, will be posting some pics today afternoon.

Good luck with your progress. BTW I have a question for you, are concerned that you recipient area looks the way it does? Like kind of dried blood? Or is that common? Your donor area looks like is healing very fast.

I'm not 100% sure, but previous pics I've seen from other operations showed some blood crusts too.

I did bleed more than usual during my transplant, and the technicians had to spray water over my recipient area every 5 minutes or so. Its also true I'm only on day 5 post-op....

Let's see hows its gonna look like at day 7, I'm afraid to rub too much and risk to pulling out graft, so I'd rather have blood crusts for a couple extra days compared to losing the grafts

Wow, that's a lot of swelling. Are you taking all the medication? Either way, it should be gone after 2-3 days tops.

 

Why are there so many blood stains on your top? Have you hurt your head?

Hey abcd, yup I've been on my meds all this time but now I'm done with the antibiotic/painkiller and I'm only on the corticosteroid tablet.

My eyes are so bloody it looks like I've been punched in my eyes for hours! I'm pretty sure its because I was bleeding quite a lot during my surgery. But now the swelling from my eyes is mostly gone, I'll just have to wait for the undercutaneous blood to get absorbed. Time to brag around my new sunglasses! hahah

The donor and the recipient are healing great.

Today is day 5, and since wednesday I've been gently washing the recipient first with the Bepanthol lotion and then with Seba Med shampoo once per day.

Recipient (no swelling, no itching, no more bloody crusts just some white scabs which I suppose are just dead skin from the graft implants)

Donor: (no swelling, no itching, no crusts)

Donor area: no pain, no more bleeding, some scabs are already peeling off without even trying, and tomorrow its gonna be the first mild wash day (with lotion and shampoo provided by Dr. Maral)

Recipient area; same as above. No pain, no bleeding, no scabbing so far but we'll see how that will be tomorrow with the first wash

Swelling... oh god, where should I even start from?

As we foresaw that yesterday, today it moved to my eyelids and all around the eye.

Kept my head up and icy pack on the area around 20 minutes every hour for the whole afternoon. Right now, my right eye is so swollen I cant even keep it open. Plus, it got some subcutaneous bleeding I guess, since some parts are very bright bloody red.

Hopefully tomorrow it'll migrate to the nose or elsewhere!

It will probable enhance the FUE result, especially if, like me, you have a very pale skin and it will "trick" the eye that beneath those fully grown hair there's hair roots or even little hair just poking out.

I've heard both pro and con from SMP so I'd go very careful and pick a tattooer specized basicaly only in SMP for the best job you can ever get done.

Also, I do think tanning a bit would help as well.

Hmm, this will be an interesting HT to follow, because it is so cheap, what is the catch? Still, it looks like several members here have nothing but good things to say about the clinic, so I am interested. 4,000-5,000 grafts for 1,800 euro/$2,430? How do they keep the clinic running, pay the technicians, how do they live? Lol.

Even if Istanbul can be a pretty expensive city to live in, I'm sure the fiscal system in Turkey is way less severe compared to EU or US.

In my country, private medical operations are subject to up to 75% taxes, which ends up in having a total cost of over 10k € for 2000-3000 grafts FUE.

Looks like Turkey only has a 8% VAT on medical services/medical products, plus its a country with centralized healthcare and an advanced social welfare system.

Im sure in those 1700-1800€ each of us ends up paying to Maral, he can make more than enough to sustain all the clinic costs, and his own paycheck as well with his assistents (which i suppose they're doctors as well? maybe just training? I dont think a nurse would be qualified to perform so much on a patient, at least here) and the driver.

I do expect, however, a rise in his prices as soon as he will start becoming more popular and more of us will share his operations. Exactly like Dr. Erdogan did. And I couldn't blame him at all, hes running a business and hes doing it in a great way.

Today is my day 3, and later I'll post some update pics of my donor/recipient.

I could finally sleep for 10 hours straight and it felt fantastic. Still a bit og yellow oozing from some holes in the donor area, but the swelling from my forehead is now moving to my eyes/nose/cheecks.

I can't wait to start gently washing the recipient area with the two lotions Dr. Maral gave me
