  1. Hair looks normal bud, try a different style, but forget about a HT
  2. Hey Healthyhair, I'm close to your age and have beein dealing with hairloss for 12 years, so I totally hear you there. Where on your head are you losing hair? Some things are easier to hide for a while than others with products like Topick or Dermatch. A hair transplant is a permanent change, so you need to decide if you are at a stage where you need that, for whatever reason. I just had my HT with Dr. Hasson after literally 7 years of research. This site has a list of surgeons that are all recommended, some near you, others quite far away. I would suggest you read the reviews section of the forum, take some pictures, and send them to 2-3 drs that you're most interested in. If you could find one in LA, schedule a visit to consult in person. My advice, and I think everyone here will agree, is to not panic and take your time. The sad reality is that while there are many doctors that perform HTs, there are only a handful of truly great ones. Figure out what your needs are, determine the expense, and make your decision from there. I would just say don't rush or compromise, because if you do there's a chance you'll be unhappy with the result. Good Luck!
  3. Cap'in Ginger, I started losing my hair much younger than I thought was fair, so I can relate to your wanting to look into other options. But I've gotta tell you I agree with the other guys here - whatever is going on with your hair - be it stress, or just your natural hairline, you're way too young to be experiencing male pattern baldness. Look into other options for now, you're a long ways away from considering a HT.
  4. Hey everyone, I had my surgery done on Sept. 17th with Dr. Hasson in Vancouver. My only regret at this point is not allowing myself some time to check the city out, it's beautiful up there. I think I'm coming along well, but wanted to get everyone's opinions on a few things. I had about 3600 grafts done, filling in my crown to mid-scalp and bringing my right hairline and temple in line with the left. It's been almost a full week, and the only thing that drives me crazy is sleeping on the staples. How long do you think I should wait before I start sleeping on the recipient area - at least a little bit? Also, I'm scheduling my staple removal for 2 weeks - is there any benefit or harm if you take them out much sooner or later? Ultimately, having a tiny 1 mm scar was Dr. Hasson's projection, but I figure you can never be too careful. Thanks!
  5. I absolutely plan on keeping track of my progress here. Any advice for flying/traveling the day after surgery? I figure that will be the rough part, between plane and other transport I figure it'll be a 12 hour trip back home the next day.
  6. Hey everyone! I'm a fellow balding guy, 34, been doing my research on hair transplants for over 8 years, almost as long as I've been losing hair. As so many of you know, it can be so demoralizing. I've been hiding my hairloss (which is mostly in my crown area) with dermatch for about 5 years, but even that has it's drawbacks. I finally made the decision to go through with a transplant over the summer. I live in Philly, and I'm going all the way up to Vancouver to have Dr. Hasson do it in mid-Sept. I'm blown away by the results I've seen on this forum from him and Dr Wong, and I really hope I can post the same great results in the coming months. Looking forward to sharing more with you guys as we go on. I'm both nervous and excited.
