  1. hi guys.. thought i'd bump this as i have another question relating to this. so how much blood is alot when talking about dislodged grafts etc. i'm now 25 days post.. yesterday i had like a weird prickly feeling in my recipient area.. applied a cotton swap and saw a speck of blood..dabbed it down for a few seconds and saw a few more spots from the same spot... it wasnt a lot.. like 2 or 3 spots and then it stopped... could it have just been a pimple or a scab that didn't heal properly maybe and just fell off then? or at 25 days is it possible that a graft got loose or something?? thanks in advance guys!
  2. Hi All, I am now 19 days post op, the shampoo that the doc gave me is now finished. prior to my op i was using alpecin caffeine shampoo. is it safe to go back to using this now or can someone please recommend me a safe shampoo to use for the stage i am at post op. thanks in advance!
  3. ive also had mine done with one of the highly recommended surgeons from here... so im sure the work is good. just gotta wait i guess.. i've been extra careful and thankfully not had any knocks or bumps!! damn!! sorry dude...but im sure the rest of it will be ok. seeing as i had no blood im gonna take it that im on track and try not to be so anxious and paranoid!! although thats easier said than done!!
  4. hi guys, thanks for the replies. the scabs have been falling with hairs attached to them but i have no idea how to tell whether follicles are part of those or not. however, i have not been bleeding so then i'm sure everything is ok then as you guy said. damn this is nerve wrecking!! just want everything to be ok and heal well.
  5. hi guys.. quick question, i am now 13 days post op and notice that quite a few of my grafts have started to fall out... more than a few in fact. is it normal for them to be falling off this soon, 13 days... should i be worried about now or is this normal that they are falling out already at this stage? thanks in advance!
  6. Hi All, I am about 1 month away from having my HT. I have been advised by the doctor to now start using Biotin. I have read some stuff on the internet about breakouts of acne due to Biotin. Has anyone had any experience with this. What have been your experiences with Biotin so far. Also, which brand did you use and how many mcg? There are alot of brand and mcg variations out there. Thanks for help!
  7. This just got real  All booked for Feb 2014... Scheduled for 3500 grafts. Hopefully my results will be as good as his other patients that have posted on here... Already a little nervous!! Countdown begins now
  8. great, thanks guys... did you guys have manual or motor... any risk in going motor... i see a lot of results posted using motor and they look good... any thoughts or concerns that you guys can share?
  9. thanks all... also, have any of your partners traveled with you... was the hotel covered for 2? can you pay the difference if not?
  10. great thanks! look forward to having a read through...
  11. Hi Throwaway28925, thanks for the response. OK cool… but dr hakan does actually do the incisions and insertion of the grafts, right? I’ve read some good reviews from members on this forum about their experiences with him so am pretty sure of his credentials and work. Just a little to-ing and fro-ing in my mind right now… Suppose I just need to commit to it.
  12. Hi everyone... I think I am pretty close to booking with Dr. Hakan... I've had a search around and seems everyone on here has had good experiences with him. Just a few things that I'm hoping that maybe any of his patients can help me clear up. I have been speaking to Mustafa from his office over email who has been answering all my questions so far. He mentioned the following: “The nurses will extract the grafts from the donor and load them into the choi implanter pens. Then, Dr Hakan implants the loaded grafts into the recipient area with the help of some other nurses.” 1) Is this normal, for the nurses to do the extraction? Was this the same for any of you who had your ht’s with him? 2) It was estimated that I need around 3500 grafts… but the final amount can only be confirmed when I get there… Was your estimates and final graft count pretty close or were they day and night apart? I'm trying to calculate the total cost. 3) I'm currently taking propecia, was told that I should stop a day before the surgery and then start again 3 days later for four months…Does that sound normal? Should I keep using it beyond the 4 month period? I have been using it for a year and 3 months and was told that anything gained from it would be lost if treatment was stopped… I'm therefore concerned that I may end up losing some hair after the ht if I stopped… anyone have any thoughts on this?
  13. thanks spanker and ht_doc. what do you mean by my donor area is suspect... do you think it would not be possible to get 3-4k grafts from it? thanks again.
  14. thanks spanker... do you have any ideas about how many grafts I may need
  15. hi all... firstly, thank you to the mods for everything they do and to everyone for contributing to this great forum! since i've found it i've found a lot of useful advice and am more aware of ht procedures and what i think i need to do! so i've been wandering around these forums for a few months now. finally signed up and this is my first post and i've got a whole lot of questions. a little about me... 33 years old, started noticing my hair thinning and receding in the latter stages of my 20's. i've been using propecia 1mg for about a year and 3 months now. i think this has stabilized further loss.... i think! anyway, i've been researching a fue ht for a few months now. thanks to this forum i think i have found 2 doctors in turkey that i am interested in... both recommended by this site. before contacting them, i've decided to ask some questions here first... attached are some pictures. 1) are these pictures good enough to submit to the doc's? 2) can anyone advise how many grafts they think i will need... basically cover the crown and then fill in the gaps across my head and maybe a bit in the front to add some density. 3) i think my donor area is pretty good, any comments on that, also, i'm rocking the salt and pepper look in my donor area right now (black and grey hair), does the grey hair make any difference as a donor, can they still be used? i don't mind them growing back grey in recipient area... 4) a lot of the sites say they supply post op meds... what are these exactly, is it propecia and do they provide you with a script for x amount of months? i'm currently buying mine from boots pharmacy(UK)... is this the best place (anyone in the UK know any better)? 5) and finally, do you guys think i am actually a candidate for fue? the doctors i am interested in are hakan doganay and koray erdogan, they seem to have a pretty stellar reputation on here. does anyone have any word on motor vs manual. ive read alot abut this but it still seems to be a divisive topic. do either of them have reps in the UK who do a physical of your hair etc before you go to turkey? thanks for reading, sorry about all the questions and thanks again in advance!
