  1. looking good! I want to ask that are your hair around the ears and nape thinning or turning finer. They look as they have become finer but I hope that this is not the case and your hair are just gray. Well, my hair are thinning in these areas.
  2. first picture is of before shaving my head and the other one of nape area is recent. There's this V shape forming on my nape hairline. it feels like a kind of recession. Hair inside the V area grow normal while the hair outside V area grow like miniaturized ones.
  3. As the hair are growing I can see that the hair from receded temple points, around the ears to the nape are much much finer in diameter compared to the hair on other parts of the scalp. I will attach some pictures when my hair grows a little more. Is this circular thinning also a part of an aggressive MPB?. I just got my blood checked last week and everything was okay except a lil' low vitamin D. I've been on fin since last June and I don't think that fin caused it as the thinning was obvious well before starting fin. Thanks
  4. thanks everyone. I always thought that my nape hair are just little bit thinning but now as the hair are growing after I shaved last week, I can see that the nape hairline is also receding upwards. No one in my family has hair loss at this place. Is this hair loss is also a part of MPB, and if yes then how much does it progress further?
  5. I recently shaved my head and there is redness(it itches) on some area of the scalp. I have attached some pictures to see if this is some general dandruff due to cold weather or is this any kind of fungal infection? I do not see too much flakes unless I scratch my head with nails or a comb.
  6. I started losing my hair at age 14. Does it mean that I would lose more hair than the average MPB sufferer whose hair loss started in 20s or 30s. In my family, I'm the only one who started balding in teen years. None of my cousins on the both sides(faternal or maternal) are showing even any minor sign of hair loss and only a couple of uncles have passed the NW5 stage. So does an early sufferer end up with a higher Norwood than the late suffer? My other question is this that is their any relation between the degree of recession on temples and the final NW pattern you end up with? like if a person's temples recede upto the ears then is this the indication of advanced hair loss pattern in future? Thanks
  7. I have just shaved my head and half of the scalp has some heavy dandruff.
  8. What does cause retrograde alopecia? is this also an inherited type of hair loss? Significant hair loss before 50 is almost rare in my family and those who lost some hair, had it after they turned 25. My dad lost his hair in his 40s. I am thinking about getting my blood checked to see if there is any underlying reason for this early hair loss. Can you or anyone else please guide me about the elements in blood that can indicate the reason of hair loss? Like iron etc. Thanks
  9. Hi Doc, Yes the hair on the sides are shorter than the top but are of the same length as lower back. In that picture I combed them back, I have attached another picture where the hair are combed straight down and it doesn't look that bad in it as the hair from the middle are covering the thinness above the ears but still it can be seen that the hair are significantly thin. the other picture is of the left side.
  10. I have male pattern baldness but my sides and back are thinning too. I always knew that my hair shed from all over the scalp but didn't notice that I have thinned so much on the sides until today when I combed back my hair and felt the hair-lessness on the sides. I have attached a pic just took today. Can you please tell me if it is DUPA? I am only 21 years old and my hair loss started when I was 14-15. Thanks
  11. I just read a post on some forum where a woman stopped her hair loss after taking vitamin D. Would vitamin D help men too?
  12. Some studies suggest that Smoking increases DHT and accelerate balding. My cousins and uncles are heavy chain smokers and none of them are bald or have thinning hair!
  13. yes I'm pretty sure its DUPA also. Hair in the pictures are looking far better than actually what they are. when I run my fingers through the hair, I can feel hairlessness all over the scalp.
  14. I have a pluggy hairline of NW 3 and hair on the top are very thin (NW6 in bright light). I started balding(receding hair line+ thinning all over the top) when I was only 14 and now at 21 I'm practically bald. I hardly ever noticed in the past that my hair on the sides and back have thinned out too, I always thought they are just becoming curly. With time my hair on the sides were becoming curly and difficult to style. My dad and his dad both are NW 6 with good permanent zones and there is very little baldness on my mother's side. Now looking at my hair on sides and back I think I'm a bad hair transplant candidate. I'm already on finasteride for 5 months, I have shed alot since then and my hair has continued to thin. I have searched online and it seems like I have 'Retrograde Alopecia'. I have uploaded some pictures. Please guide me about the possible treatment for this kind of hair loss. Thanks
  15. While shampooing and during the shower I shed tons and tons of hair. Dr. Rassman on the Baldingblog says that shampoo doesn't cause hair loss(or baldness). please provide some information on this thanks
  16. It's been 4 and half months I'm on Finasteride and my hair are shedding all over the scalp. Shedding started in the second month and now I see bunch of hair whenever I touch them. More than Half of the hair that shed are from sides and back. I don;t know what is going on!! I'm thinning in the permanent zones. P.S Some of the hair that shed are very small vellus type or thin hair.
  17. Thanks Dwight for the reply.. The problem is my permanent zones are thin and my scalp is all see through from sides and back. what baldness pattern you had before transplant and what was your donor density?
  18. The result is incredible Dr. Doganay, do you use chest or leg hair grafts as well in transplantation?
  19. Actually, I'm heading towards a higher NW(6/7) with far less than average density in the permanent zones. My MPB started when I was only 13 n half. Scalp donor may not be a good option in my case. So, I'm searching out about BHT to know if this is the way to meet my goals. I'm currently 21 years old and my hair loss is progressing at a rapid pace. In future, my expectations would be to get a NW 3 hairline with some decent coverage on the top and I won't mind a thin or even slightly empty crown. I'm afraid that my scalp donor may not be enough or feasible even for these expectations.
  20. I'm interested in seeing results from BHT using chest, beard ,leg or any type of body hair but the scalp. If there are threads on it plz provide the link or If someone has information about how successful BHT is and what are the limitations of it, please share with me! Thanks
  21. Can BHT (Body hair transplant) be a helpful method in restoring NW 7 baldness pattern?
