  1. Yes but its weird that my hair started shedding heavily against when during the 4-5months period it stopped heavily shedding and now i'm experiencing the side effects of finsteride, my erections aren't strong, brain fog, andsome depression. Also, to make matters worse i'm seeing bits yellow dandrift patches come off my head and with it, some hairs. Its not a severe but I seem to pick a couple patches out everyday, mainly on my left side where on my head where thinning is the worst, is this normal? I don't know what to do and i'm starting to freak out!
  2. 1. You gotta take it everyday, it get expensive so I recommend using generic brands. Propecia is everyday, Rogaine (monoxidil) twice a day, Nizoral 2 times a week (don't use more than twice or risk increased shedding). When you first start taking propecia, there is a massive shedding period that lasts 4-6 months but it will stop and shedding. The first 4months of shedding are the hardest because its a reaction from your hair the to amount of DHT changce but stick with it! Rogaine, you have to take it lifelong or risk losing what hairs you have gained. Nizoral, you can stop at anytime if you wish. But in all, if you notice you hair isn't getting any worse after maybe 2-3 years of taking these products, you can slowly take yourself off of them but I would recommend speaking to a doctor about it. 2. Rogaine, you can get anywhere, any superstore like Walmart. Rogaine contains Monoxidil 5% solution that causes the hair growth, you can get it in a liquid or foam forum, doesn't matter but I like the liquid. There are plenty off generic brand like Rogaine that are cheaper and as affective, just make sure it says Monoxidil 5% in it. I usually buy all my stuff off amazon, saves the embarrassment of having to wait in a line to pay for it. Propecia, you have to get a prescription from a doctor, a dermatologist is where I got mine but I recommend you get the generic brand as it is cheaper. Nizoral, I'm not sure but I buy mine off amazon. 3. To go on all of them is the most effective way to make sure that the thinning does not worsen, the earlier you start taking these medications the better chance you will have of fighting future hairloss. Although you may not notice a lot now, there is a possibility in the future that it might get worse, everybodys case is different. Lastly, find a good hair specialist near you, a dermatologist will due. Make sure you talk to him about the treatments you want to try and get a recommendation from him. Hope this helps.
  3. Okay I've been on the generic brand of finsteride for about 6-7 months now and i'm noticing a lot of increased shedding. I also use rogaine foam 5% and I've been using it for about a year now. When I first started finsteride my shedding lasted 4 months and slowed down a lot, which made me very excited. But now, all the sudden there is a increase of shedding on the middle section of my head and a increase of dandruff, around the middle mostly of my head mostly. I'm a norwood 2.5 and wondering if I should keep up with the finsteride or drop it.
  4. your hair loss isn't that bad dude, i'm 22 and mine is much worse. Start taking propecia and surf this forum, its very helpfull
  5. what is proscar? is it like finsteride?
  6. Can anyone recommend a cheap website for finsteride? I'm taking 1mg generic brand and looking to do better then $45.00 at Walmart. Thanks
  7. Okay, so I was giving pee to my friend so he could pass a drug test for his work. I'm currently on finsteride 1mg, generic brand, for about 6 months. My friend comes back to me saying that I had a lot of creatine in my test results. I don't take any workout supplements and I don't have any other subscriptions that I am currently taking, so why is my creatine level so high? This could be a problem as I am going into the military soon and if they notice a high level of creatine, I won't be able to join. Please help.
  8. That is very unusual... definitely need to get a doc to respond to this.
  9. nothing to worry about, Dr. Rahal has some amazing results, it really doesn't start getting really thick until the 6 month mark. I've seen some of Rahals results, results keep getting thicker even after a year! You got a couple months down the road, I'd wait to judge the results until 6-8months. I hope to have mine done by rahal in the near future.
  10. Yes, I don't know the exact medical terms but I was told by a doctor that it thins the layer where the hair is grown and can accelerate hair loss. Ever since I stop smoking pot there has been a HUGE difference of shedding, my shedding is practically back to normal and it was a bad habit that needed kicking anyways. Also, mirror dreams, the changes of growing your hair thicker are good, its going to take a couple months to notice a difference but, it won't grow the hair on your temples back, unfortunately that's gone forever unless you get a hair transplant. Rogaine and Finasteride will help maintain the hair your already have and slow the regression of loss. You will notice your hair getting stronger and less shedding. I haven't used the drug website you are referring (proscar) but I think I may heard of a couple people from this forum using it, possibly reliable. Have you considered seeing a doctor and actually getting a prescription for finasteride? Also, if the website does work and you get it really cheap, You should let me know:p
  11. I have the same issue has you bro, it's good that your started early on fisteride unlike I did. I first noticed around 18 senior year of high school and didn't do anything about it until 3 years later. I am a norwood 2-3ish too. I don't know about the website your getting it from, but I go to walmart because its cheaper, like $45. I've heard not to get a transplant at a young age too. You want to wait until you are sure that your hair isn't receeding less and that you've been on finsteride for about a year, i'm 22 and I plan on getting mine sometime in a year of 2. I'm currently taking the generic Finsteride brand also while taking rogaine foam 5% monoxidil. The first 4 months is the shedding phase, its going to freak you out but stick with it. The shedding phase is the "shock" reaction to the amount of DHT to your hair (which causing you to bald). I've on6.5 months using finsteride+ rogaine and i'm noticing a lot of changes to my hair, my hair is much stronger, a lot of the weak hairs fell out and is growing stronger and healthier hairs. You should notice major results probably in a year, as so i'm told, so unfortunately its a waiting game. Some tips from me is to cut your hair short, longer hairs have a tendacy to fall out easier. Don't wear tight hats, don't smoke pot (causes hair lose), and get on a healthy diet if you aren't already. Take supplements like biotin, its cheap and helps, good luck!
  12. 1. So, your saying that if a hair with the "root" falls out will grow back unless the "root" looks thin than it won't, correct? 2. So, do you I wear my hat less outside so my hair gets sunlight, does it make a difference? 3. What do you mean by the legitimate brand? propecia? I have finsteride 1mg and they charge me $65 cause I didn't have insurance at the time, but I have insurance now. I've been on finsteride for about 5-6 months so would you recommend1.25mg?
  13. Okay I got a couple questions I was wondering if you guys can help me out with. I noticed there are two types of hairs that falls out, one with that seems that still has like a little ball on the end, like it fell out from the root or something, is it going to grow back? should I be worried about the hair that falls out with "root" versus without? Also, I wear a hat a lot (loose fitted), I wear a hat almost all the time outside to the point where my hair barley see's the sunlight, I was told the UV rays destroy hair follicles and that its wise to wear a hat in the sunlight, is that true? Finally, can anyone recommend a website that sells cheap finsteride? I got a prescription for the generic brand and I'm tired of paying almost $60 to refill. If anyone can help with these questions I will truly appreciate it
  14. I'm also on the four month mark, when I first started taking it my shedding increased but is slowing down. It's different for all people but the shedding is due to a shock effect caused by a change in DHT in your scalp. It says the shedding period can be from 3-8ish months. Try using monoxidil 5%, Rogaine foam, and eating healthier. Also, it may be non of my business but if your smoking pot it increases hair fallout, I used to smoke n when my hair started receding I stopped and made a big difference.
  15. Does anyone know of a good site to order Finasteride online, also how much would it cost? I got a 11 month prescription. I'm paying $70 for the bottle now and i'm woundering if someone can help me beat that. Thanks:)
  16. But is finasteride worth the reward for long time success? Can I get a hair transplant without having to take it?
  17. Okay, I have been taking Finasteride for 2 weeks and have already begun noticing a shedding. Before Finasteride I wasn't taking anything, just using rogaine monoxidil 5% foam for about a year and noticed my hair got a little thicker, but still lost some of my temples. I had a dramatic slowing of shedding to almost a normal shedding phase but a good amount of hairs would fall out if I were to rub my head hard or something like that. im 22, and in 2 weeks into finsteride and my shedding has gotten 5 time worse!! When I come my hair I notice tons of hairs falling out, I haven't noticed this much hair falling out since the starting of my balding. I'm a norwood 3 and I plan on getting a hair transplant sometime in 6-8 months, so I was woundering: should I continue Finasteride if it is causing so much of my hair to fall out? Is this kind of shedding normal this early into taking it? How long is this shedding gonna last? Is it worth it to keeping taking this drug? -Thanks
  18. I feel your pain bro, i'm about the same hair loss as you and I started taking propecia recently, I'm freaking out about the shedding too, my scalp is starting to look more and more noticeable too.
  19. Do they take express scripts??? I can do $40 but $75 is too steep
  20. How that working for you? Is it as potent as propecia?
  21. ok, so I heard the new generic brand of propecia is on the market. I remember reading a ealier post of how someone got it for around $20. I just renewed my prescription and went to CVS Pharmacy and they gave me Dr. Reddys Finasteride 1mg and it cost me $72! They said my insurance didn't cover it but wouldn't it still be cheaper anyways? I have Aetna as my health insurance provider and i'm looking for a cheaper way to get finasteride, should I go to a different Pharmacy? Can anyone recommend anything?
