  1. Also I've decided that I'll tell my boss about it this coming Friday. I guess the hardest thing is approaching my boss and just telling him about it bc for so long my hair has been a touchy subject...so I guess I should just "get it out in the open" and whatever happens, happens. I guess you could say I'm nervous / embarrassed about the whole situation bc most ppl have a misconception about the whole process. Anyways, I'll let you guys know how things go. Thanks again
  2. Balboa, I definitely will upload pics. I'll create a weblog closer to the procedure (after the holidays) and unlike so many other people, I'll actually update it frequently. This site has helped tremendously and I want to return the favor.
  3. Thanks for the advice guys....my surgery date is January 18th, 2010 with Dr. Hasson. It'll be strip, and he estimates it to be around 3,000-4,000 grafts. I work at a physcial therapy in patient hospital so I'm guessing I could get away with wearing a professional looking hat. I'm going to take the advice you guys gave me and tell my boss about it instead of hiding it. I just hope he keeps it between him and I....
  4. Hey guys, I work in the health care industry and I'm not totally sure if I'll be allowed to wear a hat to work after my HT procedure. I was able to take off 2 weeks but has anyone come across this problem before? I was just wondering if I should just tell my boss what I am having done so I'm not "hiding" anything for the next several months. Has anyone else encountered this at all? Were they understanding? Thanks
  5. Hey guys, I've been performing scalp laxity exercises a lot over the past several weeks in preparation for my upcoming HT, but recently I have been noticing that I lose some hairs while performing them. Do you think I'm performing the movements too hard or is this normal to lose a few hairs after doing these exercises? Thanks
  6. Hey guys, I have a HT coming up this coming January with Dr. Hasson. I was just wondering how customs is getting into Canada and getting back into the United States? Any problems / stories? Thanks in advance guys...
  7. Hey guys, I'm having a HT this coming January. I have a few questions, I've researched some but I've gotten mixed feedback. How long before the HT procedure should you begin the scalp laxity exercises? How hard should I be pushing while performing these exercises? Thanks in advance...
  8. Hey MrMike I was also in the same predicament as you about a month ago. I couldn't decide between Dr. Rahal or Dr. Hasson...I've talked to numerous patients of both doctors and all summer long I was absolutely certain that I was going with Dr. Rahal but I had a change of heart last month and opted for Dr. Hasson instead. I like how H&W posts videos on their website, so you can actually see the detailed work instead of just viewing photos which can be deceiving. Either way, I think both doctors are great...Rahal designs awesome hairlines but I like Dr. Hasson's consistancy. It comes down to personal preference...good luck in your decision making.
  9. Here are the pics guys....the hair was a bit wet, and wasn't completely dry. Either way just let me know what you think. Thanks
  10. Scottish Guy, thanks for the response, I've been following your progress thus far and the work Dr. Rahal performed really looks good man. I'm on my laptop right now, the photos are on my office pc so I'll post pics tomorrow....thanks again
  11. Hey guys, I'm having a HT this coming January with H&W. I'm a little concerned about the density of my donor region above my ears / sides of the head. The back near the mastoid processes and occipital region is fine and is dense but I've always had somewhat thin hair above the ears. Should this overly concern me because I'm stressing out over it? The game plan is between 3500-4,000 grafts...I spoke to Dr. Hasson about this and his only comment was "a lot of people forget about that area". Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks.
  12. ShavedDethMonk, I'm a competative bodybuilder, have been since 2004 and I weight train 5 days a week with extreme intensity. However, when i receive my HT this coming January, i'll just have to keep reminding myself how much money I've spent on this procedure...this should pretty much stop you from doing what you're not suppose to do post-op. If anyone is worried about losing muscle during this time, take BCAA's (branched chain amino acids) in conjunction with a high lean protein diet while you're "off", this will help prevent catabolism (muscle wasting)
  13. Thanks Tsakalos.....I'm the type of person where if I say I'm going to do something, I'm going to do it. I've become obsessed with my hair loss and I just need to suck it up (the side effects that is). Prezident....I had difficulty maintaining my stamina and my libido was abnormally low. My girlfriend at the time said she didn't mind, however it definitely bothered me because deep down inside I knew what she was probably thinking. I also experienced some shedding but that is normal.
  14. I have personally never heard of him but that's not to say he won't do an adequate job. Personally, I'd go with a recommended surgeon from this site but anyway good luck on friday.
  15. I was on Propecia about 2 years ago for about 8 months and stopped due to the side effects. I'm determined to just put up with the side effects and will be starting it back up by the end of Sept. I'm having a HT within the next few months and I was wondering if the "inital shed" from Propecia will have an adverse effect on my recipient growth? thanks
  16. aaron1234, I don't think Propecia prevents shockloss after a hair transplant, however it HELPS prevent from future hairloss. Somebody can correct me if I am wrong but I don't believe this was an accurate statement....but i do agree with your advice toward freakin.
  17. I know Propecia doesn't prevent shock loss from occurring but just out of curiosity are you on Propecia? Like Severn said, I assume as well some of the hairs have miniturized. I would contact Dr. Rahal about this unfortunate situation and I'm sure he'll get you all squared away. Good luck
