  1. thanks for the advice guys..To be really honest my hairs have started to bother me and I miss my hairline ..I hate spending time on styling my hairs ...One thing I know for sure that I don't want to shave my head at all so sooner or later will have to go for a HT ..and this is just my personal thinking that say if I need 1800 right now and say that I wait for 30's and my hair loss progresses then I would need 3000 ..so why not do 1800 right now and then 1200 afterwards ..atleast my 20's will be hairy .. And also I have seen one guy who used to work with me and he had a good hairline and was really bald from the mid and top..not sure if he had a transplant or not but he didn't look that odd to me.. I think now this is just me convincing myself that everything will be alright
  2. Evan here's my thread which has my pics http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/169688-nw-grafts-assesment-pics.html ..I am thinking of going with either Dr Cooley or Dr Dorin..Had a talk with both and they suggested I would need around 1600 to 1800 grafts ...I know cost should not be a factor but both have comparable costs and both do great work..Which Doc in ur opinion does more better Hairline work and Scar work.. Also was just reading a post here in which one guy had really bad scar which was too much stretched and looked bad and so just thinking which way should I Go FUT or FUE ..
  3. Maybe I am just getting a little nervous and asking stupid questions as had a consultation today and thinking of going for the HT ... its this 1 week of deliberation thing that I guess I M into now ..The latest date from one clinic I have is july and I am thinking of going for it ..and hey u went to work the very next day and nobody noticed anything ...and looking at ur profile you have kind of the same hairloss as me and same age..hope its going well
  4. so u saying that it does work in many cases and does not in some..what about ACell
  5. Yeah i read articles and got confused as some places it says it works and somewhere people just trash it so thought someone who has used it can share their opinion..Dr Cooley says that it works very well when used with ACell but the cost is also too high on this..
  6. Reading ur post's title made me sad ..but seeing ur hairs nah..its not that bad dude ..ur 35 and have good hairs.
  7. Hey, So just need some opinions on how did planning for an HT went for u guys who had an HT ..I mean many top notch clinics have bookings for about 3 4 months and so setting a fixed date in so advance without knowing what would come up ..I know it varies from person to person and this might even be a stupid question but if someone wants to share their procedure and if anything happened and if the clinics were good enough to understand the issues.. Thanks
  8. Hey , I had a talk with a doc who said that using PRP and ACell can really improve the growth and overall texture of the hairs and may make it strong.I was quoted about 1000$ for it..So just wondering has anybody used these in their HT and how did it provide any significant benefits . Thanks
  9. Yes I am on propecia for about 5 6 months now ..I take it MWF . I can trace back the receded hairline to my highschool days..But it was not receded this much and my hair quality was good and I used to keep them long so didn't think about it then.I think it has reduced a little bit. No body in my family like Uncles's are bald..They all have good hairs..My Father is maybe NW4 but he's 61 and he had really great hairs till 50 i guess. Also can you explain this statement a little bit 3500 grafts for 50-55cm2 recipient area @ 63-70 grafts per cm2
  10. For eg in this case http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/143100-dr-robert-dorin-1-hairline-fut-1702-a.html Dr Dorin transplanted 1702 grafts and the hairline looks natural ..I am not sure what the density in this case might be but The question I would have is as for the many cases I have seen that go for like 1500 or 2000 grafts in the hairline and get great results r u saying that they have to go back to make it look natural and thick
  11. so u saying that I would need about 3500 grafts to make my hairline look natural ..
  12. so that means I would need more grafts to get that density or I can make the hairline short and put 1500 in more small area...70 i what I think the doc said that is the case with natural hairs on the side..so the question I have is in many HT cases here which are just one procedure the hairs seems to look good in photos..how is that so ..Is there some reason for that like the doc did above 60 ..and also why did the doc said he ll be doing 40 45 iin my hairline when it won't be enough..is the HT density based on some calculations....I am sorry if my questions doesn't make any sense..I am just learning about it ..
  13. I had a phone discussion with a Doc today and he said that if we do it around 1500 grafts he will be able to give around 40 45 fu/cm and that I will be needing additional HT to make it more dense and match it with the surrounding areas which he said are about 70 and he said that my hairline has receded to an extent that a HT will be helpful but he clearly warned me that I will have to take additional HT procedures to get more density or when the back hairs start to fade away... So my questions is that I have seen so many pics with people having just one HT and get great results is that not always applicable..I mean can't we get a nice hairline with just one session and are 1500 grafts not sufficient to give me density to make the hairline look good..Also I asked him about my age factor and he said that he treats many patients which are in their 20's but we just have to know that we will have to take additional HT's. Matt and nativeremedies I really appreciate your feedback but the thing is that even if I wait for my 30's to get a HT still I will have receded somewhat more and get more grafts then why not have a HT now with less grafts and then get another one if needed..I totally understand your point but it's just i would so love to get a hairline back.
  14. Hey Guys, Can you look at the pics and tell me what you think about the density that would be required as per the hairline and also how many grafts I would need to achieve that . Thanks
  15. what do you mean by clinic will accept full payment on cc as some may not cap it to limit the charge from the cc company. ...I m actually not sure how this works..I have got good credit history and also able to pay in cash but was just wondering what's better cash or credit card.
  16. Hair Transplant: Hair Restoration Clinic vs. Plastic Surgeon | Hair Loss Q & A interesting read about some dedicated HT Doc or one doing some other stuff too..
  17. Hello, Was just wondering if someone has put his HT cost on a credit card ..and how does this process goes ..Say for instance I can get a card with 0% for 12 months is it a good thing to do ..I mean does it have any effect on the credit history or any other negative effects that I should take into account. Thanks
  18. GNX1 I know that you are just trying to help and frankly I was thinking the same and maybe ur right that if I was in some other city I may not have considered him so that's why I am also leaning towards Dr Cooley. I also made a post here https://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/169725-griffin-center-atlanta.html asking about if anybody has heard of Dr Griffin as when I was checking his profile here in Patient experiences there were only a few of them dating back to 2006 but 2 senior people here said he is good and I came to know about the search option for this forum and then did a search on him and came out with many posts..My statement in above post is because I went through a lot of them and didn't see the kind of response from people on this forum which other Top Docs get like simply wow or amazing so that's why I am also looking into other options. 911Fan you comment should be passed on the publishers here as Dr Griffin is a Coalition member and Board Certified Surgeon. And u are right rarely we see info about him and I m not sure why (maybe his patients don't like posting) but he has been doing this for a very long time and just because you have not heard of him much does not make him a bad surgeon.
  19. I totally agree..I also was not sure about Dr Griffin before and then I searched more about him and he seems to be doing hair transplants from a long time and also while reading threads found out that he was also a part of the coalition members group when that group was initially formed by Pat..and he's not cheap by any means like other 2$ per graft billboard I have seen recently on the freeways of our beautiful Atlanta...I know the discussion is not about the money here but just sayin..The only thing I noticed is that there aren't many WOW like comments from the seniors here on this forum about Dr Griffin's HT results which I see for other Docs like Feller ,Shapiro ,Cooley etc.
  20. well that was a neat and cool list ..thank u guys ..quick question does the cost of anesthesia and other stuff usually included in the per graft price of HT or usually that's separate.
  21. Skinny when do you plan on taking the surgery if you decide to go with him..In my mind I am thinking it's between Cooley or Griffin since both are close by..I know that travel should not be a deciding factor but both these docs look top notch ..i like Dr Cooley's result more though and also he's a little cheaper than Griffin ..Have you seen any real life result of Dr Griffin or just pics .
  22. Hey Skinny ..I booked the in person consultation today and will update this thread after that..His rates are high as I was told the surgery amount does not include all other stuff like anesthesia etc..I was under the impression that this is usually covered with the HT cost.
