  1. I have maybe missed around a total of 3 days over the course of the 8 months of use.

I have just started biotin, so the effects are hard to gauge at this stage.

I thought about taking saw palmetto, but figured whats the point if I am currently using a clinically successful anti-androgen like finasteride?

  2. Do you take any steriods? If so, that would definitely be a contributing factor.

I recommend finasteride, it is by far the best hairloss drug out there. My only regret was not getting on it years ago when I first noticed thinning. I too was scared sh*tless because of the side effect horror stories. My hair would be WAY better of if I hadnt been put off by hearsay and slander touted by internet snake oil salesmen.

I havent experienced any side effects.

If you are one of the unlucky 2% - yes, thats right ONLY 2% - of people who suffer from side effects, then discontinue. At least you can always say you gave it a try.

  3. Gillenator..

Taking propecia is for life? if I stop taking propecia will the regrown hair be lost? Thx

According to Merck's official website, if you stop taking propecia, you'll lose the regrown hair as well as the hair you saved within a year of stopping.

  4. I've been on the big 3 now for 8 months, and over the course I hadn't experienced any noticeable shedding, ...that was, until, just last week when I added Revita to my regimen. Since then, the amount of hair I am now losing in the shower and on the comb is more than I've ever known.

Prior to switching to Revita on a daily basis, I'd been using Nizoral (2%) twice weekly.

It just seems weird that a shed would come about this late in the game.... Is it caused by Revita? Did the Revita trigger the other big 2 into action? Usually when I hear about shedding, it seems as though it happens to people within the first few weeks or couple of months of starting meds. I've never heard of a shed happening this late in the game.

Has anybody else heard of cases like this?

Should I discontinue the Revita or ride it out? Does shedding after just a week of Revita mean that it's more effective than finasteride and minoxidil?

I just hope I am not losing more ground. At times this hairloss prevention treatment seems like 2 steps forward and 1 step back.

  5. Biotin is supposed to help. I'm not entirely sure about the mechanism of action.

    "Biotin has been shown to

regrow hair and even reverse premature

    graying."

    "Studies with biotin supplementation of

500 mg a day have shown results in hair

restoration and reversal of hair graying."

Taken from an article about Biotin from the Natural News website.

  6. If i felt that taking finasteride (propecia/proscar) brought on sexual side effects in any way, shape or form, then I would personally discontinue immediately. But I've been on the drug for nearly 8 months now and I havent experienced any of these side effects.

    Long may it continue.

  7. Been using Nizoral twice a week. I like how it leaves my hair feeling full and easy to style.

Havent tried any of the other ketoconazole shampoos yet.

I would like to give regenepure a go, but it's helluva difficult to get a hold of. The bloke from the hairlossfromsteroids highly recommends it.

I've just ordered Revita, which is pretty expensive. So I hope it's worth it.

  8. He seems genuine. If he is just promoting scalpmed alone, why bother mentioning the various other products he uses on top of scalpmed?

He also says he uses a silica suplement. Has anyone here included silica in their regimen? Did it produce any results?

I like how this guy went from a cueball to a furball in 4 months.

If his case is real, it means that hairline restoration is possible without the need of surgery.
