  1. With your age and the look of your current hair I would strongly recommend waiting it out. If the Propecia has sustained your hair loss then I would just stay with that approach. With that said, the length you keep your hair and the thickness of it you would probably be an ideal candidate for a HT, but if it was me I wouldn't just stick with Rogaine and Propecia for now and keep a photo journal to track loss.
  2. It has been 12 months since my HT from WMHC. I am going to make this short and sweet. The hairline was drawn too straight, the hair is far too sparse and in result I must wear my hair a certain way otherwise it will look pluggy. The scar is far to wide and now has to be revised. Communication has been poor between clinic, doctor, and patient. I can go into further detail if someone is actually considering them and wants to PM me about my situation. Without a doubt I will have to get another one in the near future to fix the overall look as well as the scar. I feel like they may do good work from time to time, but I can only speak for myself and I can tell you with full confidence that they did not do a job expected of today's HTs in my case. Their biggest issue is lack of attention to detail. Whether it is showing up on time or designing a hairline there is just zero attention to detail done by this clinic. They also led me to believe that a lot of area could be covered with so little grafts. This was odd because money wasn't my concern, I would have gladly paid twice as much for a better outcome and more grafts. From my experience and my research, I feel that if you are considering a HT in the washington dc metro area that you should start with Dr. Lindsey. After one of WMHC's technicians saw my results he actually suggested that I use some sort of cosmetic cover up in order to disguise the HT and said that they'd cut me a break if I wanted to get more grafts transplanted. Not something you want to hear after trusting someone with your hair. Again, feel free to write me if you have any questions.
  3. I couldn't agree more with Dr. Lindsey's points about research. Sometimes busy schedules and life events get in path of doing your due diligence in reading topics and doing proper research. I think it necessary to develop a baseline in any evaluation process so that you can recognize inconsistencies and red flags. These forums are the best way to do just that. Some docs like Lindsey are very truthful and straightforward, others dabble in half truths, and some will flat out embellish. In order to avoid falling into any trap you need to have a baseline of patients, doctors, and marketing so you can spot the things that give you that uneasy feeling. While doing this you need to find a doctor that has your best interest in mind. It can be challenging with out a doubt. Research as much as you can and try not to let your emotions clog your decision making. OP, I truly wish the best for you and your results as I would anyone, regardless of their opinions of the HT community.
  4. Well done. I will be following this case closely since I now fall into the same category as this client. Hope all goes well and please keep us updated on this case.
  5. Montron, I'm going to answer some of your questions while avoiding others because I don't want to give unfair information for any clinic or surgeon till I have made a final opinion. The scar in my case is not a paper cut type scar and will need revised. It is unnoticeable at a 4 guard, but unacceptable as far as current industry standards. WMHC, like all clinics/surgeons, will stand by their work and attempt to make things right because sometimes the unforeseen happens. 3-4 days is not enough. Yes they will be able to tell in that time. I recommend 2 weeks. Stitches don't even come out till around 10 days usually. Plus it will take a toll on you physically so I find it unrealistic that going back to work in 5 days would be okay for most people. I suppose it depends on your job though as well. I will give you a full, informed review when I have all the results and can make a fair opinion for all involved. I do not want to boost or harm anyone's reputation till I can give more facts. Weigh your options and always walk away from a hard close sales pitch unless you are 100% on board at that time with that clinic.
  6. Yes Washington Medical Hair Clinic. Feel free to ask any questions.
  7. Try Propecia to stop hair loss. It doesn't look that bad. Stick it out and let Propecia do it's thing way before consulting a doctor. As you get older if it is bothering you then a HT would be a viable thing to do, but as it stands now and not being on Propecia you shouldn't do a HT.
