  1. Please see the below pictures of my temples taken after shaving down before surgery with Dr Doganay, I’m still in discussions with the previous clinic regarding this and would be inappropriate to name those involved at this moment. I have my own conclusions coupled with the opinions of other top clinics, GP's and dermatologists. I guess I'll leave it to you guys to make up your own minds based on what you can see. I can say it was a clinic based in Harley street, London. I just want to put the last 12 months of pain behind me and look forward to a happier 2014, hairs hoping Queue Dr Doganay and the AHD team in Antalya, Turkey!
  2. Have you considered a temporary concealer until your in a position for a HT? I was using Toppik spray applicator until I was ready for the HT. Think that could work looking at your hairline!
  3. Nice one Johnny, I wouldn't be in this position now without the knowledge gained from this site and the forum replies made from posters such as yourself and the many others.
  4. Hi All I’ve created the thread to detail my upcoming procedure with the AHD clinic, Antalya Turkey over two days later this week. I’d imagine that my situation is fairly recognisable by the reps on here who have had to endure my harassment over the last 12 months, so I’d just like to offer my sincere thanks to those who I’ve been in contact with. Also to the guys who I’ve been in contact with through this site, they know who they are  I had a less than hoped for 1000 FUE in Jan 2013 in which I’ve suffered (and still am) complications and lasting issues (doc isn’t not recommended here.) During the course of the year I’ve been in contact with many clinics and travelled to Manchester, London and all over Belgium discussing my circumstances with the docs recommended on here to establish a clear plan forward. Although I’ve not had an in person consult with Dr Hakan Doganay (kindly offered to do this the day before the op when I arrive) I’ve been very impressed with the results I’ve seen and the answers the excellent customer service have provided me from the many questions I’ve needed to ask. These have been in regards to repair, and a large birthmark that I have on my frontal 3rd. So here goes, another roll of the dice, hoping for a much much happier and less ‘hairrendous’ 2014. I’ll update with a detailed account with pictures when I arrive in Turkey! Thanks for reading.
  5. Thanks shorinryu, pleased its working out for you. Do you get it shipped from their website based in the US or do you source it elsewhere? Cheers
  6. Thanks for the response, I hear what you saying. Yeah it is a gamble on taste at 50 pounds including shipping to the UK from the US. Personally the taste isn't my main motivation, I have other whey shakes that I use and enjoy. I've listed the macros and vitimens taken from their website. This product was recommended by Dr Mwamba during my consult, and for this reason alone its at least worth a review IMO. Seems like a convenient alternative to not be concerned with buying seperate pills, running out etc. Especially on top of my current regime of using fin, minox and niz also. All factors are pointing to December for my second HT, and thinking of starting a daily consumption of this a month before, and throughout the recovery. Will be adding MSM to the list aswell! There is, of cause some lofty claims on their website. 7. I met with Dr Lorenzo and the team at Farjos for a consult a couple of weeks ago, and I echo the sentiments shared in Mick's post. In what is a very sensitive time I was made to feel completely comfortable, the doc really is a class act. Thanks Mick
  8. I'm not sure rubbing sunblocker in the recipient area is a good shout, especially in the initial weeks following a HT. Best to keep the area clean as possible, and keep away from any products not recommended by the doc in the aftercare instructions. The gyms tough because working out naturally gives you more confidence, and when you are going through the 'ugly duckling' stage you want to do a bit. Try to avoid raising the blood pressure as you don't want to complicate the donor. Start steady with light cardio or something. Follow your chosen docs advice. Its a means to an end
  9. I apply it once a night and leave it on to work its magic into the blood stream while asleep. Congratulations GaelicDawn looks great
  10. Since I currently use protein supplements I was interested in seeing this product at the mywhtc clinic, as it also includes many pro hair vitamins such as zinc and B complex. It would be convenient to 'kill two birds with one stone' so to speak. Can’t seem to find a UK stockist for it, has anyone any thoughts or experience with it? Cheers
  11. You could try rubbing the recipient areas with something like Aloe Vera to reduce the redness. Book a follow up with the doc so you can be inspected in person and visit a dermatologist as a precaution. As Arcane says it’s still too early but I would try to be as proactive as possible. It was around the same time that I developed Folliculitis which can be treated with an antibiotic cream. In the meantime keep the area as clean as possible and avoid unknown chemicals in hairsprays etc. and wait for things to settle down. Shedding is normal at 8 weeks but get a couple of docs opinions for your scalp. Good luck
  12. Interesting, nice one Gillenator. I'd like to wait until the 12 month mark and see the final outcome but the doc's not part of the coalition. Intend to go into this one much better educated, this forum's a great help
  13. Thanks, should say I had a (so far) disappointing FUE op in January, now understanding how important using the donor hair wisely is I was curious what the docs recommended here do. The first was a visual only, as presumably I was a virgin scalp. I’m doing those laxity exercises at the moment in preparation.
  14. Thanks Cant Decide, I was hoping that would be feedback lol I was wondering if there is an industry recognised standard technique on how donor availability is calculated, is there a small section removed and placed under a microscope for instance or a high resolution picture taken etc Cheers
  15. Hello all First post and possibly a daft question, whats your thoughts on ideal hair length to get the most out of a consultation? Would short or longer hair provide the best indication to evaluate donor availability and to ascertain hair characteristics. I need to decide whether to get a hair cut prior to the consultation, im currently roughly a 5/6 grade back and sides. Frankly, getting the barnet done is always torture but needs must Cheers
