  1. No I didn't. Thanks a lot. I think the propecia + rogain has helped a lot. I am planning on having a second procedure soon to fill in and dense pack the previous areas and perhaps also improve further coverage on other areas.
  2. I think it's time I give an update. First pic was taken sometime during last year in the summer. The second one is taken recently. I have been getting some pimples in my forehead. Not sure if it is propecia related. Can any one suggest how to tackle the pimple problem?
  3. Hello all, I hope this message reaches all you guys with full head of hair . I have a question...so I initiated my treatment with lipogaine, propecia and big 3 shampoo. initially, i believe i had good results for about 1-2 months or so. I believe I started propecia on February at about 0.25 mg once per week. then on the 2nd week i bumped it to twice then even other day for a month...then i believe after a month, i bumped it to 0.5 grams per day. No lie, I had really bad symptoms...I couldn't get it up. My balls ached very bad. But, I think I also had signs of ED prior to starting the medication while I was on hairomega taking 3 pills of that saw pawlemetto. I also remember my balls aching when I was a kid around 14-15. so I am not sure whether it was the medication or what. I also have the habit of working out a lot so I wasn't sure if i pulled something. Well, then anyways...I then started taking l-arginine and another medication, i forgot which...to help in that department and it really did wonders...Also, at around june to july, i started shedding extremely badly. I would literally get 100 hairs or so come out during shower...i became very noticably bald and the shedding just continued all the way up until 2 weeks ago. At around the same time, I bought emu oil and started applying it to my head and now I have practically 1-2 hairs that fall off the shower. I would like to ask, is that normal now? Also, as far as my symptoms, i stopped taking l-arginine around 3-4 months ago and have been extremely horny...as in, (its up) most of the time and my balls don't ache anymore at all. I am thinking my symptoms are completely gone and they won't return? I get dull pain down there maybe once in 2 months or so. Honestly, i can't remember the last time it was hurting. So...my hair does feel like its filling in. I am not sure really as it feels too soon to tell. How long do you guys have to wait in general after shedding has stopped to see results? Also, is it normal to have shedding from month 4-8? I guess since i started teh treatment intiially at a very low dosage and bumped it up to 0.5 is when the shedding went massive? i am now taking anywhere between 0.5 to 0.75 and am thinking to increase to 1. should I do this or just stick with the current plan? I guess this post seems somewhere positive...I don't know what to make of it yet as I really dont' have any more symptoms and i feel propeica cured my ED symptoms if anything...
  4. Dear all, I have been on propecia since February. I have some questions regarding this product as during my searches, i couldn't real find an answer. 1)On some days, does your hair look worse than other days or is it just me? 2)I'm not sure. I used to be pretty muscular, but recently i have lost alot of my muscle. well, i had a bad back surgery and it took me 9 months to recover (after which i had my hair transplant). But i still work out, but for some reason i feel like my chest has lost some muscle. But, if i work out my chest, i feel it very pumped up and it looks like it used to before. Is that normal or am i getting gyno? 3).I was worried whether i am getting gyno. I asked some of my friends to tell me if i was, many said i didn't. my girlfriend says it looks like i might be. so do i ask my prescribing physican (Dr. Dorin) about this, or do i go to a gp? 4). I've been getting dull (noticable) pain in my groin. But in all honesty, it goes away some days and comes back for sometimes couple of hours then disappears all together for a week then again comes back for couple of days then disappears. I have been having pain in my back for quite some time and there was a time when i was 16-19 when i consistently had pain in my groin, but it disappeared. But now the pain seems more towards the left testicle. I stopped the propecia for 2 days and didn't have any pain at all but as soon as i started it, i had a little pain (0.5-1 scale with 10 being the worse pain imaginable). Do I see a urologist about this? In my searches, i have noticed some patients who reported pain, but my main question is did they continue with the treatment anyways? Thanks kujii
  5. hey doctor dorin contacted me. sorry, i haven't had a chance to speak with him as i have 4 exams this coming week and have been very busy. i will call him on monday morning and follow up. cheers kujii
  6. can anyone please tell me whether im at fault for the way i am thinking? please don't ask me for better pictures. thats the best i can do. if its not clear for you, imagine that i had no hair at that area and what u see now is pretty much what i have.
  7. now tell me...how would you guys react getting results like this? this is a laughable matter when a doctor tells me all my grafts on the right side grew my left side has definitely grown in...i can't understand how the right side is considered already grown by the doctor...doesn't make sense.
  8. hey thanks...but unfortunately, i signed some document the day of the surgery where I believe i read that in the event the results were poor, i won't be reimbursed, but would be given another free hair transplant. I wasn't thinking too much when i signed it since it was on the day of surgery and i was excited to have the surgery done. Based on my consultation with dr. true, he claimed his office was approaching 98% yield (whatever that means). so i thought 2% no growth is nothing. hence i opted for it. unfortunately, it looks like i only had 40% growth in my grafts. the right side has clearly not grown that much. the left side has grown in, but i still don't like the fact that grafts are placed so far apart. on top of it, dr. dorin also inmplanted hair a bit behind near the crown/front. when i brush my hair, i can clearly see the implanted hairs there too. so its very unnatural. it leaves like an unnatural feeling. I was reading through this forum and apparantly, another member was dissatisfied at the results from true and dorin because the grafts were placed soo far apart. Unfortunately, i have to get another surgery. I am looking like a clown and i can't sit here doing nothing. infact, had i not had the hair transplant, i would have merely shaved my hair. now, even that option is gone. I am getting so upset its ridiculous. I have refused to pay the credit company that extended me the credit to do the hair transplant. (why would i pay if i had poor results? i don't have 10gs growing in trees).
  9. its been officially a year since my last hair transplant. i am having mixed feelings about my result. unfortunately, in today's day and age, a doctor is judged by his results... I have had numerous feelings of anger, frustration, happiness over this course of the year, that is has just been a whirlwind of a process. im on 3rd month of propecia. initially i had side effects, but they disappeared within 2-3 weeks. its funny, when i started my regiment of quarter pill propecia, i had side effects. but as soon as i increased it to half, the side effects disappeared. results: Propecia, nizoral and lipogaine-had an overall pleasing effect on my hair. my hair definitely feels more dense. i still have more time to evaluate how the proepcia will work out. but so far, the thickness of my hair is amazing. I am very happy at the medications. hair transplant: not happy at the results at all. the left side has grown in, but the right side is definitely lacking. very depressing considering i spent 10gs for this mediocre result. i call my results mediocre because based on other people's results from the same doctor, my results pale far far in comparison. Unfortunately, i have to judge based on my results....not how caring or nice the doctor is although thats a plus. you guys can look at the pictures i posted before. the difference between now and then is negligible. I have had people say to go back to the same doctor. But, i won't. why would i go back to the same doctor when i had poor results to begin with? i am switching doctors for the time being and going to go see dr. feller. unfortunately, i can already predict another 10gs coming out of my pocket. for a guy with late norwood 3 / 4A, i just can't fathom having this poor results...anyways...i hope people can respect my opinion and not feel like i am raging a personal vendetta against dr. dorin. i am not. just not a happy patient. that's all. take care guys and hope you guys have great results from ur HT. later kujii
  10. I would like to give an update. I'm very sorry if I bad mouthed dr. Dorin. I have had a minor (transformation) that I have noticed since yesterday. My hair on right is actually filling in slowly and I look more presentable than looking like a clown. My left has matured significantly where I feel no work needs to be done there anymore. I feel another 1400 graft will fix my problem. Hmm...propecia side effects kicked in initially around week 2 of using propecia. But I followed that up with l arginine and everything was good. Been 1 week since I used l arginine but everything is good now In that department. I don't think I have benefitted from propecia yet. But my hair has definitely thickened up all over. Overall, I'm pleased at dr. Dorins final result. But feel he should give me 200 grafts for free IMO on the right side of my temple Thanks guys Kujii
  11. Hi guys. I thought it would be fair to give an update right now. I visited dr. Dorin 3 weeks back, and he claimed that all my grafts have already grown and that maybe 25-40 didn't grow on my right side and so he would be willing to give me 25 grafts for free but that I would need another procedure. I disagreed with him and said that my right temple is definitely receding and there hasn't been much growth atleast satisfactorily for me. I agreed to get on propecia to evaluate how I respond before needing another hair restoration. I asked him about the pictures on his website and be said they were the best outcomes. I got pretty upset hearing this. On another note, I started propecia last week at 0.25 grams. I would like to say, my hairloss went from 20 hairs or more everyday in shower to practically 0-1 hair. I'm thinking its working? As far as sides, I have none so far. I'm praying the combination of propecia, lipogaine and nizoral would restore my hair. Keep you folks updated with a new pic around next week.
  12. i believe there is a study out there that shows that 0.25 is just as effective as 1 mg...if not more and causes less side effects? apparantly, most of the side effects are in ur head i believe. and perhaps if you get your body used to it, i think you have less chances of developing one
  13. hey hair no evil. thanks for your message. i remember seeing ur pictures on the website and i believe ur picture made me really jealous . ur right. doc dorin did say to me initially that i might need another 1600 more grafts as a 2nd procedure... but in my 7 month follow up..he changed it to 1200..perhaps i had a better growth? i am taking this medicine called nuhair (saw palmetto etc). i dont know if that really helped with my hair growth but after 2 months of using it i definitely noticed a thicker hair. i might get back on it again. but most importantly, i think i will start the FDA approved propecia first. also are you using any medication at the moment? thanks
  14. hey thanks guys. yes it might seem that another procedure is needed to achieve the result i am looking for. i will definitely post some better before/after pictures once i come in next week for a follow up consultation. i will post the results here immediately. on another note. i will begin propecia medication around next week and start off at 0.25 per week and slowly build it up based on spex's recommendation. however i know i am starting at a much lower dosage. cheers guys kujii
  15. thanks guys for your prompt response. I feel much relieved knowing that i still have yet to see more growth coming. I honestly think the lipogaine/nizoral treatment i am using is causing my hair to feel less dense than it was 2 months ago. apart from that, one of the temple is definitely lagging behind. Thanks future HT Doc, although i dont really want to cause a mountain out of a molehill. I have an appointment with doctor dorin next week and im sure we will address all my concerns. I recall him advising me to start propecia 9 months ago but i didn't due to fear of side effects. But i will take the plunge in the next two weeks and start off at a small dosage initially. Again, I only posted my concerns in this forum and i mean no disrespect to dr. dorin and his wonderful staff. I just wanted to get peoples opinions here about the nature of my hair growth and really just to educate myself rather than blindly walking into a doctors office and nodding to everything the doc says. I initially signed up weeks ago but i was researching this website and i saw so many good outcomes from dr. dorin that i just became very depressed and hence I posted here. (... thanks again guys
  16. thank you for your kind comments. this waiting game is killing me. there is definitely a poor result in my pictures as you can see. very disheartening at least to me
  17. here are my after pics. i have started lipogaine 2 months back and nizoral shampoo about 2 weeks back. i have been going through some massive shredding recently. so perhaps i am more bald now because of lipogaine? i am not sure... can someone please advise me on what to do? is my hair transplant a failure or a success? or semi success? would one more give me a good head of hair? thank you kujii
  18. hello all. incidentally, i found some before pics. here they are.
  19. yes i will definitely post some. i am going to the true dorin office next week and i will try to get a hold of some before pictures. Again i would like to say that dr. dorin is a great doctor. but however, my results were pretty poor. I dont know atleast to me it looks poor. perhaps i might have a different reaction once i see my before pictures. again i will post them here asap. thank you
  20. Hi all, Wish you a happy new year. Like many of you, i am a hair loss sufferer. Have been losing my hair since i was 23. By the time i was 27, it has become noticiable to the extent that it bothered me very much. At 28, I got a hair transplant of 2000 grafts by Dr. Dorin. My initial experience with him was very good. He is a very kind and sincere man. Initially, I was very excited. However, 6 months into it, i have had very poor growth in many areas. It is finally 9 months today, and i can honestly say, that my left side of my temple has filled in better, but still, not to the point that it is covering the bald spot. but the right side is very weak. I dont understand why i can still see my bald spot. I feel like the grafts were place too far apart and perhaps he should have packed? I am very disappointed at my final results. I feel like my expectations were not unrealistic. Seeing many before after pictures in the true dorin website, i was convinced that i would atleast get an outcome similar to many of the other patients. but, it hasn't been like that. i have been very depressed at my result. my relationship has faltered to a point where i get overly conscious about my hair. i try to comb over etc etc. i just dont have the same confidence i used to that i thought this hair transplant would give me. ok i just went to the bathroom and checked my hair. i can seriously count how many hairs i have on the right. to me thats not a good sign. i am so sick and tired of staying at home and not enjoying life like i used to. 2 years of extreme depression. what can i do at this point? i know if grafts didn't grow, the office will give me another procedure for free. but if initially i had poor growth, i am scared of going back in again and wasting my donor region and again coming out with a poor growth. please advise... sincerely kujii
