  1. I never have taken any meds (ie: Rogaine, Min., Fin.) & don't plan on to after my HT. I am 37, Norwood 5A . Is anyone out there doing the same or is it like a foregone conclusion that you have to. Thanks
  2. Hi everyone, this is my first post although I have been on the site for years. I am curently battling this difficult decision whether to get a HT or not. I keep going back and forth. I am 37 years old, been shaving my head since I was 30. Everyone is used to my shaved head look now. I am a Norwood 5A. I came close to gettting a HT about 3 years ago and backed out at the last second. I decided to move on with my life, and for some reason or another ended up back here. I guess I am just looking for some before and after experiences, regrets, etc. It's a big decision. If I did get a HT, my reason would be to treat myself, not for any other reason. I would like to look the best I can. The cons are, the scar I have to live with and the people who know me now might think less of me if they realize I got a HT. I did mention the idea to a few close friends and got mixed responses. 2 friends said, "just keep shaving your head, you're fine, it's ok to lose your hair, most do", and 1 said, "hey why not." Anyway, thats enough from me. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks for listening.
  3. Hi, I'm 34, currently a norwood 5. I've been shaving my head for the last few years and never have taken any type of med for my hair. Recently I decided to visit a few different surgeons and came back with roughly 5000 graphs required. Now what are the odds that I can achieve a full head of hair with 1 surgery. Also is everyone on meds after surgery for the rest of their lives?

  5. So am I correct in saying that if I had the surgery I then would need to use meds for the rest of my life (ie: Propecia, Fin, Min, etc.) to slow down the original MPB?
  6. I'm really debating whether or not to get it done. I always thought I can have just one surgery and be done with it. But from reading on here, it seems like most people on here go in for multiple sessions, and then they are on meds to slow down the original MPB loss. How long are the meds used for? (Fin, Propecia, etc) Is this a life long thing, just weighing the pros and cons.

  8. well thats what I'm wondering myself. Is it worth getting a hair transplant now if baldness is progressive? I don't want more than one surgery.
