  1. I was a NW 5-6 and had 3HT’s. One just a month ago (after 10 years). My first one I rushed into and didn’t have the best result but I was still happy. My second one made a world of a difference and was super happy and improved my life and happiness. With concealer I could pull off a full head of hair. I could have continued on but wanted to see if I could make improvements and use less concealer so I went for my 3rd. I’m 46, and although my hair loss has been fairly stable (possible slow and on fin) I still worry about further progression although there’s aways the option of additional surgery.

Why didn’t you just go to Hasson and Wong? You had an elite local doctor in your country

H&W is a great option indeed.

    A few reasons.

    1) I really liked the work they have been doing and there ability and confidence in using other donor supply sources which was important to me after having to FUT procedures.

    2) Scheduling aligned with my timeline and responsiveness of staff.

    3) I always wanted to travel to India.

    4) Cost

Not sure if I see baby hairs. I see some areas where it looks like incisions were made, but I don't see sprouting yet. I wish I could shave my hair so I could get a better look at the growth, but I don't want my FUT scar to be visible for two months.

My surgeron did not want to implant much into my FUT scar because she said survival would be poor due to lack of blood flow and didn’t want to waste grafts. Instead she planted very few into the actual scar and mostly just above. What has been your experience with growth/survival? I would like some more in areas where the gaps are larger but also the blood flow is poorer. I’ve seen some that say the more you implant the better the flow becomes but don’t want to waste grafts for nothing.

    Thanks.

I wonder if anyone can help with this ^

    is nape hair any good?

    --

and @track_rat , thanks for your insightful posts.. how did your beard and sidelocks recover? are there any ingrown hairs or acne? or redness on your neck or face?

I’m 2 weeks out and only had 300 come from my beard. It has healed well but I am getting a bumps around my neck which I assume are ingrowns.

  5. Ok here's the latest. The procedure spanned 2 days, during which Dr. Das and her team implanted nearly 2800 grafts. About 300 grafts were extracted from my beard. Most grafts were transplanted to the mid-scalp and crown areas. Approximately 400 were placed in my temples and 300 in and around my scar. A small section on the left front received a few grafts as well for added density.

Dr. Das assessed my scar and decided to go light on it due to limited blood flow, using beard hair for scar coverage. I never felt that Dr. Das was ever trying to sale me grafts, in fact I'd say the opposite. I felt she truly determines the graft count on what she believes is best to achieve the desired result without wasting precious hair.

Dr. Das truly lives up to her reputation, providing exceptional care and warmth. Her entire team shares this commitment to patient well-being, making me feel like part of the Eugenix family during the process and my recovery.

I won't delve into specific procedure details here, but feel free to ask questions. Dr. Das was frequently present after creating the graft sites, ensuring thorough supervision, which was reassuring.

The procedure took two days, which I wasn't initially aware of. Whether this was the intended duration or due to scheduling, I'm uncertain. I had planned my stay to include the first head wash before my departure, but unfortunately, that didn't happen. I'll be managing the wash on my own.

I believe it would be beneficial if, at the end of the procedure or each day, a doctor provided a summary and an opportunity for patients to ask questions. While there's always someone available for inquiries, direct communication with the lead doctor would be a valuable.

For reference, I've included some post-op pictures.

  6. Hi Sekior109,

I'm from Canada (arrived on the 23rd) and am in India right now, actually about to head back tomorrow.  I had applied and was granted my Visa shortly before they stopped processing them.  I don't know this for a fact but it is my understanding and I'm sorry to say this but I don't think you will be able to get it. My only suggestion, is that you give it a try but appy for the Medical Visa.  There's a risk you may lose the application fee.  Let me know if you have any questions.

  7. I had my pre-op visit today, during which they checked my blood pressure, heart rate, and conducted some anesthetic tests. They also took photos of my hair, and I completed consent and intake forms. I'm happy to get this done before my procedure tomorrow.

I found myself quite nervous and anxious on my way to the clinic, and even more so when I arrived.

I feel like today's visit will help me relax tomorrow. Being there and seeing how efficiently Eugenix operates, with busy staff working in unison and rooms everywhere, there's a lot going on. It could be overwhelming, but having witnessed that today, I am now familiar with the once unfamiliar, including some team members, and I know that it will provide me comfort and ease when I arrive tomorrow. To me, that's a big deal, and I valued today's visit.

    Awesome! Where are you from?

Good that u extended your stay my friend! It's better to wait until everything is secured when u have lots of hours to travel back.

For me Everything for now is alright, shading phase started. Some redness appeared and pimples, Eugenix said it's normal so as of today 20.09 it has passed one month and 4 days since I had the surgery.

Make sure you buy all the medications after surgery because in India it's cheap! 😁

The people there are warm and amazing.

At Hilton hotel and on the streets or in shops, seriously. You will have a Great adventure.

Let's hope our hair transplants will come out great :D

Thank you for your note. Wishing all the best for you! I’m from Toronto, Canada. Just thinking I might go crazy in a hotel room For 7 days post-op, especially if I’m feeling self conscious about my appearance and keeping the grafts safe.

    Hello folks!

Today i arrived to India for the first time. My surgery starts at Monday.

Im exhausted from the trip so that's why this topic will be short.

Im staying at Hilton Hotel for the first two night's paid by Eugenix and i paid for some more until my first head wash with them at day 7.

Hope the surgery will go good because im scared a little..

I'm in your shoes now and have extended my stay at the Hilton until my first head wash. Any suggestions/advice?

Thank you and hope all is well.

  10. I'm here to share my experience, hoping it provides useful information to some. I won't focus on how wonderful everyone is at Eugenix or how well organized everything was, as many have already shared such information. While these aspects are valued and appreciated, at the end of the day, we truly care about the results. I plan on sharing the pre-planning, planning, procedure, and results. If anyone has questions related to traveling from Canada or other non-surgical questions, please feel free to message me; I'm more than happy to help.

A little about me: I live in Toronto, Canada, and had two FUT surgeries. I would have classified myself as a Norwood VI. My first FUT was at the age of 35 (11 years ago), and my second FUT at 36 (10 years ago); I'm now 46. I don't think I've lost too much hair in the last 10 years, or if I have, it's been a slow process.

My first FUT was, in my opinion, not the best choice and result because I rushed into the procedure without educating myself or spending time on forums like this one. I was told it was 3200 grafts, but they did not provide a graft breakdown, and I did end up with doubles in my hairline, but my scar was okay. I was not on Finasteride at the time as I started it before my second HT. The clinic was called Sure Hair International, and the doctor was Dr. Nelson Ferrara.

My second FUT procedure was with Dr. Rahal in Ottawa, Canada, and I received approximately 3500 grafts. This was a major improvement in my opinion. The growth was good, and I could style it to give the appearance of a full head of hair with concealers. This changed my life for the better. My scar is good, except for a few areas where it is wider, but it can still be hidden with a fairly short cut and the right barber.

I've come a long way from where I started and am happy, but I would love to make additional improvements and rely less on cosmetics such as Dermmatch and Toppik, so I'm going for it. I am done with FUT, and for my FUE procedure next week, I am going with Dr. Priyadarshini Das from Eugenix.

My goals or wish list is to add density to the mid-scalp, address the crown, temple points, and if possible, add grafts into my FUT scar. The scar is a TBD as Dr. Das believes I may have hypertrophic scarring, so she wants to examine the scar before committing to doing anything, which makes sense to me.

I've attached pictures of my pre-HT, after HT 1, after HT 2/now, and my scar.

I'm excited, yet nervous, and a bit scared. It's a long way from home to a place where you know no one and nothing, but I'm doing it.

  11. I went to see him for a consult but he was not at the top of my list. The fact that no one else has replied also tells you that he isn't very well known in this community. I assume you are looking for something fairly local? I believe you would be doing yourself a great disservice if you didn't see some other great Canadian doctors like H&W and Rahal.
