  1. Here was my situation. I didn't have really any truly bald areas, In the forehead I was receding just a bit, and at the sides of the forehead, just a bit more. My thinning was spread out everywhere. So almost all the grafted hair was transplanted in between existing hair. The doc warned me I would get shock loss, and I have gotten a boat load of it. My hair is currently much, much thinner than before the surgery. Of course, some people think most shock loss is temporary, and this might be true. Nonetheless, I assume it will be at least a year before any temporary shock loss is gone. I've even had a boatload of shock loss along the FUT scar particularly on the left side, which bled a lot more and has a much thicker scar. The other thing: the recipient area is still very, very numb. It is better than right after surgery, though. How long does numbness last?
  2. How long before you can do scalp laxity exercises for your next FUT? Why do most people get FUT instead of FUE, given this tightness? This tightness is really a nuisance, and I understand as you get more FUTs it gets worse and is sometimes permanent. No one warned me before about tightness.
  3. Well, this proves what I said. Most people think they can tell the difference. Now get someone to pour 5 glasses of one and 3 of the other, and see if you are like most people and actually cannot tell the difference. Then you will realize your self assessment of what grows hair is wrong.
  4. Studies show people's self assessments are highly inaccurate. Most people believe they can distinguish between coke and pepsi, but the blind tests shows that most people can't. How do you know that guy in the video isn't a paid hack? Is there any doctor or study that recommends this product? If it really did work, wouldn't there be?
  5. Why is 3 months enough when I am still tight? And from what I understand most people are still tight at 3 months, so how is that ever enough time?
  6. Well, my doc said you can lift weights after 7 days. But other people on this forum have recommended waiting 3 months. I know other doctors recommend waiting much longer than 7 days to lift weights. I understand that everyone has at least some tightness at month 3. So I don't understand how people can lift weights already. Won't the scar be stretched as long as you are feeling tightness. I haven't mentioned the tightness to my doc. He said to see him at the 6 months point, so I figured I would mention it then. I can't imagine there is anything one can do for it.
  7. I googled microneedle. Are you talking about this: MTS-Roller: Clinical Data Microneedle therapy enhances any topical hair loss treatment product and stimulates natural repair pathways to support skin healing and maintain healthy hair growth. ? I did not find any doctor who says it does anything for hair loss. Are you aware of any doctor who says it does or any study that says it does?
  8. I am starting to wish I got FUE. This tightness is really uncomfortable. And I am afraid to lift weights even now because I am afraid, with all the tightness, that it will stretch the scar.
  9. I am talking about the tightness that stays with you forever. 1300 will not cause permanent tightness. If you get a lot more than that, you risk having permanent tightness. By the way I am 3 months after a 2800 FUT, and I still have a lot of tightness. I understand even 2800 FUT does not risk permanent tightness. But I plan to keep getting more FUT's.
  10. With average laxity/density how many grafts can you FUT without risking tightness?
  11. ^^^^^^ Why do you believe regenpure is best? Is it best for voluminizing or for growing hair? I googled mironeedle, and nothing came up. Did you spell it wrong?
  12. Are there any studies for which shampoo voluminizes best? (I am not talking about voluminizing by giving you more hair. I am talking about voluminizing in the temporary way.) I've noticed shampoos that claim to voluminize actually do it a lot better than normal shampoos.
  13. I would rather get the second one done sooner than later, so I get more years of extra hair. But it looks to me that surrounding one section of the scar I have a good amount of shock loss. It is pretty extreme. In this one area, a half inch in each direction is bald. I presume this hair will grow back, and I should not have a second FUT until the hair does. I am 2 months post op.
  14. But how do all you guys know your recommendations are the best shampoos? Is it from personal experience? Is it from some study?
  15. If you get a second FUT, should you ask the doctor to cut out the entire first scar? I understand this means fewer grafts, but can't you always just have a third FUT to get more grafts?
  16. On the right side of my scalp there is one FUT scar. Then on the left side, the scar splits into two separate ones. When do doctors choose to do this?
  17. I have 82 follicles per square centimeter. I had one FUT where they removed 2764 follicles. Is there any reason not to keep getting FUT's until I have exhausted all of my donors? Obviously cost is one reason, but any other reason?
  18. About how many donor hairs do I have, when my density if 82 per square cm?
  19. Mederma is supposed to reduce scarring. But if you are going to have another FUT anyway, I presume they will cut the first scar out, no? So should I still use Mederma on the first scar? Do they cut the first scar out when then give you a second FUT?
  20. Well, after I read the post here, I started using couvre first. I haven't tried using toppik first. I am still not sure why you would want to use couvre first. As for why I would use both, I think you look fuller by using a little of both rather than twice as much of just one. They work in different ways. Couvre is make up that makes your scalp black, so that you don't see such a contrast between my black hair and pale scalp. It is a bit messy especially the less bald you are. And it takes awhile to put on. The problem with couvre is you really want it only on your scalp, but there is no way to avoid getting some on your hair. And the more hair you have, the more couvre will get on your hair instead of scalp. Toppik you want on your hair. It is tiny fibers that attach to the hair and make them look thicker. It is less messy and quicker to put on. If you were going to do only one, I would use Toppik. But as I have gotten balder and balder, I have now added Couvre. I must say a Couvre / Toppik application will make you look thicker than a 5,000 graft transplant. They do a good job on the crown, but as far as lowering your hair line, Toppik does nothing. Couvre does just a little because you can put the make up in the corners and try to brush some hair down over it. I wish I could figure out something to lower my hair line in the center, to supplement transplants. For the transplant I had my doctor was conservative. He put most of the 2700 grafts in the front third of the face, but higher up, not lowering my hairline any except in the corners. He didn't want me to have a halo of grafted hair, if I bald further.
  21. No redness on the scar. My doctor gives mederma to every patient.
  22. I have been trying to use it, but it is hard to get it on through the hair. I get the feeling almost nothing is reaching the actual scar.
