I have actually read and heard about side effects being irreversible in some cases, whilst a full head of hair is majorly important to me, so is the use of my manhood.
There are some internet forums where people anonymously make posts about how Propecia has "completely ruined their lives" but it's pretty well established that there's no credible evidence to support any of these claims.
  2. I will not touch Propecia sorry, a 2-18% chance of becoming impotent is not worth it :(
Bro many people don't get side effects from Propecia and they are reversible if you get them, you just have to go off the medication and nothing is lost.

I think almost anyone here would agree that in your current age and hairloss amount, that this would be less risky than going under the knife. I think it would be crazy not to at least see how you respond to Propecia first before considering a hair transplant so young.

I am a little surprised Dr. Feller would not give an estimate at all.
To be fair, I asked the one time and the answer wasn't specific numerically, but I didn't follow up and try to pin him down. It wasn't like he refused to answer or dodged the question or anything like that. I meant to write up a list of specific questions to have ready prior to my consult and to bring it with me but like an idiot I didn't do that and lost my train of thought and got distracted at times during the consult. He did ask several times at the end if there were any other questions I had but unfortunately my mind wasn't working sharply as I had trouble getting to his office and nearly had a panic attack just before the consult as I was driving through New York.
  4. Gandolf,

Can you share a picture of your hairline? It may be easier to evaluate the conservative nature of Dr. Feller's estimate if we could get a look at the recipient area.

Additionally, I personally think it's quite difficult to evaluate donor regions from images alone. Frankly, it looks like you have a good supply, and I think the number of available grafts will break down to hair characteristics and scalp laxity.

Sure, here they are. Please also note, I only want to come down a VERY small amount in the center which Dr. Feller did in his proposed hairline, it was just the corners where I felt it was too conservative for my tastes. And no, this is not how I wear my hair in real life LOL I just wet it and combed it up in the front to demonstrate for the pics.

Depends on your laxity as well and other issues. Is there not a coalition doctor near you to visit?
I met in person with Dr. Feller and just recently filled out several online consultations with top doctors for which I'm waiting to hear back from. I asked Dr. Feller when I saw him in person and he said I had good donor supply and laxity but didn't give specific metrics as to the number of grafts I have available. I'm young (28) and his recommended number of grafts for a procedure as well as the hairline he proposed seemed a little too conservative for my desires so I wanted to get some other opinions obviously to see how they differ. I think the only other coalition doctor nearby is Dr. Lindsey, who I will probably go to see in person as well.
