  1. Nice post Robert. I actually never knew that a person on finsteride couldn't donate blood. Being a thinker myself, I sometimes feel a bit silly taking medications and perusing HT forums when there are issues in the world that are much more important than my hair. Posts like yours really help to put things in perspective.
  2. I don't want to get involved in a fight over Rogaine, but I will share my experiences with it, because it has successfully grown hair on my hairline and temples. The problem is the hair wouldn't grow longer than approx. an inch. It grew a big cluster of these inch long hairs at my hairline, so much that the girl who cuts my hair asked "why do you have so much breakage at the front of your hairline, do you blow dry your hair on a really hot setting?" At that point I asked her to shave my head to a #2 and now all those little hairs blend into my hairline quite nicely. Your mileage may vary. At the same time, I do hate the stuff though, I hate applying it, the greasiness of it, fighting the itchy dandruffy scalp it causes, the stains on the pillow case(my wife really hates that)etc. etc.
  3. I have heard of this. One of the HT docs provided me with his release form. On it was a clause that stated something to the effect of: you may still lose the transplanted hairs at anytime after the procedure, the reason for this fallout is unknown, the doctor will not be held responsible if the hair does fall out. It made me reconsider the operation and I didn't go thru with it. I would contact your doctor and see what they have to say. Hopefully your problem can be solved.
  4. Nice pics, a couple of questions: 1) So once dermatch dries it won't run, even if it gets wet? 2) You don't need to apply toppik in combination with dermatch? 3) I did not see a scar at all in the one picture of the back of your head (nice job Dr. Cooley). Is it shaved to a #2 in back? I have tried Prothik myself, it works very well and you will not have any problems in the rain with it. Only soap and water will get that stuff out of your hair. It will however make a complete disaster in your bathroom.
