Thanks mmhce and latinlotus. I do not have the material that said that. As I said, when I went for a HT consult, the surgeon showed me that fat text book, which on his desk whilst waiting for him to turn up. At first, I had high regard for this HT surgeon, but to be honest, I lost my faith in him for a number of reasons. I wanted clarification because I did not read the whole thing and what this HT surgeon was showing me could be out of context. According to that HT surgeon, that text book records Merck own results. He was against proscar and any other products except for minoxidil as I told him that I notice good improvements.

I hope someone with a medical background can shed some light on this....

I have been using it for the last 7 weeks. They claim that 45% of people get good results after 8-10 weeks, 45% get good results after 12 weeks and 10% may get some results. So far, I have noticed that it makes my hair healthier and the hair darker. I also noticed a little of hair growth in the temple, but nothing outstanding so far.

Dr Lindsey. I said you PROBABLY know it. If now you say "you don't know it" then, I have no reason to disbelieve you. However,let's respectfully agree to disagree here. People who get good results and happy usually are willing to share their happiness and success with others. People who fail are usually not willing to tell others that they are "LOSERS". Besides, people who get bad HT blame themselves, they may blame themselves for choosing the wrong doctor or making the irreversible decision to have a HT in the first place or even comparing their own poor results to the photos the doctor has for other patients on his/her website (lighting plays a great factor in the photos). They also do not want to seem or labeled as disgruntled people who are bring negativity to this forum. Some people will be so upset to even discuss it with their closed family and friends. A happy person would like the whole world to hear his/her success and how that person managed to achieve good results.

Dr Lindsey...I disagree with your comment that unhappy folks are more motivated to post than happy ones. I think the contrary happens and you probably know it!

I had a HT consult. The subject of proscar came up. My Dr, opened a big fat text book, which records drugs like Propecia, similar drug to proscar, and it says something like the results were no demonstrated for men aged 41. My Dr told me that if you take proscar when you are 41, it will be useless. According to my Dr, these results were recorded by the company producing proscar. Is that true? I used to have proscar (1/4 tablet per day) for 5 years, then I had a problem (could not maintain my erection), when I stopped it I no longer had this problem. I stopped it for 11 months, and now I lost a lot of hair. Got back to it now, but, in accordance with this Dr, it will not work. Could you please share your thoughts on this

Thanks Maxxy, Wantego, Dr Steve Gabel and mmhce. I had my consultation this evening and I asked Dr Ray Woods (Sydney, Australia). He said after the scabs fall off. I think, as Dr Gabel said, I should wait 4-6 weeks.

Sorry I meant you can wash your hair except for the recipient site, but to wash the recipient site you should wait 10 days....

I understand that you should not wash your hair for 10 days after the operation (except for the recipient site). Can you dye your hair say 10 days post op?

Stopped proscar and after about two weeks, I did not have this problem. Yes, I lost everything after stopping proscar for almost 9 months! I am thinking about using Genesis softgels. Does it work? Please share your experiences if you have used Genesis softgels.
