  1. A11 Dr Karahan said 3000 grafts No idea what that actually is in terms of 1 2. Or 3 hairs as i was unaware to even ask this until reading other reports on here... I got my op on 22nd march so im at 9 full days post op.. Im happy going thru airport but under bright light my head looks a little bit red but my heads shaved,...my friend said nobody will notice but im not sure...it depends how observant others are of your head i guess... I think 10 days ok but i cannot say if someone would know... If 1 day you jave no hair and nect day you have hair maybe someone at office would notice eh....I dunno... 1 thing Our flight from turkey got delayed so missed connecting flight.. Stressful so i would not recommend travel in the immediate days after operation Also not many people speak english in turkey Taxi drivers a nightmare You really need to get transfer from airport to hotel and hospital included in whatever place you go with... Its not much fun not speaking the lingo!! I am surprised at the german guys travelling the day after op... Airports are notoroius people watching places & i would not much fancy travelling in days after op but everyone is different i suppose
  2. Rumon plus 1 Like i said before hospital is called Memorial... It is in the Atasehir region of istanbul... Type "memorial atasehir" into google and up it pops... I asked questions today fir u at hospital so u can take from it what u will Dr Karahan qualifications: been doing ht 5 years...1000s of patients... No complaints..member of EHRS & ISHR whatever these are and goes to various seminars ... Dr Guniz also works with dr karahan... It appears lots of germans come to this hospital... from speaking to my turk buddy it would seem there are inly 2 companies that most people coming to turkey consider... They are Memorial & other company is Este hair... I aint sure why my buddy chose this... I spoke to getman guy who re iterated he had a choice of same 2 and went memorial... My turk buddy arranged everything thru a co ordinator called deniz...she gave me business card today and its identical to dr karahan other than her name being e mail address to contact... From what i gather sacekimi means ht in turkish..koza sacekimi seems to be the name of dr karahans ht business... He also works fir memorial hospital...i really could not fault anybody at hospital but i have only been looking into ht procedures for 7 days...so i aint anywhere near like the experts everywhere else on this site... One other thing dr ali karahan is on you tube... Type his name and ht or koza sacekimi and up it pops... If u do come turkey book 2 nights in hospital and a further week in a hotel to recover and get ur puncture wounds washed proper each day..,theres a very good cheapish hotel called asia city hotel quite literally next door to memorial hospital .... Dont think theres much more i can add to help...Its up to you what route u want to go... As far as i am concerned this whole experience was utterly flawless for me... My heads healing very well.,. Scabs falling off each day and returning to normal...ill give it 6 months and see how things are after that... My buddy wants to come back in september as there are 2 parts on top his head about size 50pence coin which still requires doin... He was bald as a coot on top... Mine nowhere near as bad as him as i was just thining on top snd at front..when i looked over the charts that are used i would be at the first level or certainly nearish to that... Bn thining fir 8 years but held onto most of what i had by using propecia and latterly rogaine mousse... As for posting pics,.,, i have no specific before and my hair looked fairly good anyway as i had it longer... TAKE EASY AND DO YOUR HOMEWORK, nobody is gonna take responsibility for this part of it except you... Its all up to you Good luck
  3. You could try and locate a turkish person and try and translate that website i mentioned earlier as I would assume Dr Karahans qualifications will appear there ( if he actually has any)
  4. No idea how many they can do in a day... It looks all red and spotty... I only got done 4 days ago... Its bit swollen above ears and at back,.. Took few pics on iphone... Donor area looks mega red and spotty... They gradted 3000 on top of my head and at front on either side... They sent me away in a headband with a black bowler hat to wear if i go out... They also supply u with creams to wash and shampoo with..called seba med shampoo and bepanthol body lotion...they also supply u with 2 sets pills to take called sultamat 375mg and aprolfort 10 which has 550mg naproksen sodyum .... I think these are anti biotics or something...1 a day of each and give u a 5 day course of these for post op recovery...
  5. Also they can have 3 patients in per day... I asked the lady doctor how many ppl they can take and i believe its maximim 4 but they prefer 3 as it is a long process.. 6 to 8 hours it can be
  6. No probs il speak to my turkish buddy and get back to you with exact address of memorial hospital...Dr karahan drew on my head with purple pen then it was his team who operate with him hovering all day i think... Not sure if he actually does it but everyone seemed to know exactly what was going on and they run like a well oiled machine from what i could ascertain... But as i said before i aint got anything to compare them to... The 2 doctors ( ie karahan and the lady doctor) whos pictures are on that website i gave u are there for the duration of your op and they spk good english....There was also a plastic surgeon guy present and i recall about 3 or 4 different nurses hovering around me... I dont feel anything as they also giv u something that makes u a little drowsy as well as local anaesthetic ,but your awake the entire time... Anyway ill get u address tomorrow Cheers
  7. Im in glasgow mate but have to be honest and say i didnt tell anyone i was heading to turkey for ht...wouldnt really fancy meeting with ppl from internet and showing it off lol... I think if you do your due dilligence like you are clearly doing then you will make the right decision... Just do your homework...Its up to you to satisfy yourself... Even take a flight to turkey, check it out for your own peace of mind ... Watch an op taking place& ask questions... Patients are more than willing to talk... The german guys were talking away to me... .. We flew klm edinburgh to amsterdam then istanbul... It was only a few hundred quid
  8. And believe it or not there are cheaper apparently... Another turkish friend of mine had ht for even less money than 2000 euro.. Crazy....
  9. And in relation to price i assume when u pay the really high prices for hair transplant then you will be paying for the training which the doctor has undertaken etc etc and his many credentials... Price is 1 factor and i wouldnt necessarily choose the cheapest... I just trusted my turkish friend so went with his recomendation...lol not advisable to do this...
  10. Aah also i did ask him if he was good and he smiled and said he has 100s of patients... There was a video of him when i typed his name so u should be able to find easy The hospital is unbelievably clean and spotless... That certainly made me feel re sssured as cleanliness is a must
  11. Rumon You are probably right...after looking round i thought it was ultra cheap... But my turkish friend organised it all for me... He didnt go thru a company or snything...I think the hospital quoted 2000 euros originally but my turkish friend kept trying to get them lower by bartering lol... All these turks the same... The tel number on business card is +902163683933 ... At hospital the staffs english is ropey but the 2 doctors were very good... I think the memorial hospital chain is a big chain of private hospitals in turkey and is viewed as being very expensive by the turks who live in turkey... When u compare to uk though it seems cheap... No idea what the ave wage here is in turkey but must be lot lower than uk otherwise it would appear that charging high amounts aint reasonable... Dunno.... W w w dot kozasacekimi dot com is on business card ( i have spelled that out as it dont seem to appear correct when i post)
  12. P.s the stuff in my above post does not appear on dr karahans business card... The browser must not be capable of showing a www address sorry
  13. Hey Rumon. In turkey recently had fue operation with 3000 grafts by a Dr Ali Karahan MD at the Memorial Hospital in Istanbul.cost 1500 uk pounds. No idea how good this doctor is as i did not do my homework.suicide i know. I only started looking into these forums after op as i had lots time on my hands. I would not advise this course of action having read all over the internet you should spend a lot time researching....!having said that & after looking around the internet and picking up some of the lingo i think i might have been lucky as the op seemed to go well... ( although i guess i wont know until 6 months onwards mark)The hospital was extremely clean, professional, attentive, caring & there was a team of doctors and nurses working with dr karajan which reassured me that it all seemed bona fide.the reason i came here is that a businessman friend of mine who is turkish also went to same hospital as he phoned around differing places and spoke with his friends and this hospital appears to be highly recommended within turkey and held in high regard...(promotional link removed) is on dr karahans business card and when i searched on internet afterwards i did see him on video doing a presentation on ht... No idea what he says as i dont speak turk but obvious from. VIdeo what is going on... Dunno if this helps u any but thought for what its worth id throw my tuppence worth in the ring!! ... Also this hospital sends driver to airport to collect you, take you to hotel and then to hospital,.,.. Back to your hotel and return to airport... All in 1500 pounds.. At the hospital there were 2 german guys there... I quizzed 1 of them who is of turkish origin about how he came to be there and he said he phoned around...the german guy also said this type of op in germany starts at 7000 euros and goes. Orth from that... So at 2000 euros for him was excellent price unbeatable in turkey....I guess it is kinda down to luck unless u thoroughly research your intended hospital and speak with their previous patients... With the limited knowledge i have of ht i cannot really be a good refer ce poi t on the subject... I ask myself is it the type of thing where u get what u pay for OR is it like getting jack vettriano to paint a masterpiece then getting michaelangelo & van gogh along for a comparison and u find that the layman in the street could not tell the difference between all 3 but an afficiado of the art could.... Dont know : the answer is probably somewhere in between... Im rambling... Anyways.....maybe this response is of some use to you or maybe not... and sorry for poor grammer here i am typing this on a tiny iphone keyboard lol My advice if coming here... Try and book hotel near to hospital and get hospital to wash your donor and transplant area therefor stay around a good 3 or 4 days after op and visit hospital for wash. Take it easy Ciao And good luck with your ht journey!! Ataturk1
