  1. 2 weeks 5 days update:

Welp it seems like almost all of the transplanted hairs have shed having me look worse than before. I'm not sure if there's some shockloss in the area as well? After taking pics today it looks really bad atm but I keep reasuring myself this is expected to lose all the transplanted hair. One more thing is I've been wearing a hat to work that was semi-tight the first couple days but I loosed it up and is now looser. But the front band of the hat is rubbiing on the transplanted area leaving the area red and sore a little. I'm hoping this didn't ruin anything and I'm going to be finding a looser fitting hat. I also now see 2 small pimple like bumps where the band of the hat rests.

I shower with baby shampoo still and am now using minox 2 times a day on crown and on transplanted area. As for numbness, the donor area I have full feeling in and the hair is growing back there now but the scars are still noticeable. The recipent area has more feeling as the days go by but still a numb.

If anyone can help me out and tell me if I'm on the right track with the shed and shockloss if it is? I know this is expected and will look this way for up until months 3-4 until the growth starts but I guess I'm looking for some reassurance from you guys.

    thanx

Hi mate, I’m a little further along than you having had 1800 grafts in August. The shock loss is normal but also the worst bit.

I’m 3 months out now and just starting to get a few baby hairs where there wasn’t any before.

Still hate the way it looks but kind see it as a right of passage and have become tolerant of it over the course of this time.

  2. Hey all,

I've been awful about updating, mainly because I don't really even think about my hair anymore. I'll try to add additional pics and the donor area in the near future.

I couldn't be happier in choosing Dr. K.

Considering going back to thicken my crown area in a year or so.

Any close up pictures at all? Really similar to my loss and not disimilar graft number.

How long did it take to start getting some growth?

  3. Thanks for the post Jimbo

My end result was never going to be particularly amazing due to a combination of extensive hairloss and my available donor area

I am though of course hoping that my result further improves, once ive hit the 1 year mark (im at 9 months now)

    Cheers

    Any recent pictures mate?

It looks like you have some coverage over the front and middle that wasnt there before. I think similar to me you probably knew you werent going to get a full head of hair for 2000 grafts so giving you some coverage will help I imagine.

Also maybe similar to me the idea of a second is a possibility to take it up a notch as well.

  4. yes because you needed a large amount of hair moving and FUT has a much higher survival rate, FUE is normally used for small session i.e hairline work 100-1200

The survival rate thing is valid and while I agree if I was doing all including my crown I would have needed a lot more grafts but ultimately I didnt want to be greedy and I was adamant I didnt want another scar so that ruled out FUT.

Time will tell, Im hoping the areas I wanted filled in grow and Im happy with the result.

Ive seen guys on here that are looking to have a full density of hair to when they were like 19 years old- I'd look ridiculous if I did that.

  5. i agree with people personally FUT would of been better in your case and gave you a better result Dr farjo one of the best FUT surgeons in the world, The best in the UK by a mile, FUE im not so sure does he do the extraction himself?

Appreciate you commenting but can you explain why you think this?

  6. So day 27 post surgery and more meetings today- up close and personal with my biggest client. Joy.

People think I've got something wrong with me as they've never seen my ear to ear scar before as always kept it long enough. Oh well- tits and teeth, just get through it.

Also- Biotin, I've been using it since the surgery and oh my god my nails grow so quickly. Used to cut them maybe once every ten days or so, now it's twice a week. Incredible- hopefully has the same effect on my hair!

  7. hello, I have my first FUE with Dr. Nader in exactly three weeks, based on the pictures I sent him he recommended 2500 grafts in the top/front and Minoxidil for my crown. I was hoping anyone that has had the procedure done had any suggestions that I should do or anything to bring with me that you wish you knew about before hand. I've seen someone recommend button down shirts and someone mentioned a sterilized hat? Should I bring a hat or will they provide one? Did anyone bring cash and if so was there any problem flying with that amount?

    Thanks

Just a small tip from my surgery is to take some snacks for your room so you don't have to venture out too much. I just hung out in my room for as long as possible.

  8. Haha that's funny.. did you end up tell him the truth or make something up?

That's brave of you going out without a hat or anything I wouldn't be able to do it lol

It was at work- can't wear a hat there. I didn't tell him, just said I had it cut short as I've said I might for ages and I'm just waiting to grow it out a bit.

  9. alxrbt Who are you? Have you had a transplant? What's your agenda?

You just joined and you have 10 posts to your friggin' name and you start this crap? Sounds like FUE bashing to me. Start a thread on fut scarring so we can all throw up.

Submit YOUR OWN PICTURES or shut up.

    Chill out ffs

  10. Here's a ten month pic under normal room lighting. I think the individual hairs have perhaps thickened a bit, but the density is still sparse. Overall I'm happy compared to what it was like previously. At 48 I shouldn't really complain. :D continuing to use lipogaine minoxidil once a day. Under bright light it's very see through, but overall I'm happy enough with the cosmetic improvement.

Not sure about a second procedure yet, but i'll not rule it out...

    Wow- cracking result mate!

  11. Thanks micknick,

I shaved my head to show people what it looks like after an fue procedure. I don't mind shaving because my head is still alittle red so I'm always wearing a hat regardless. I'm letting it grow now til I reach 1 year.

    Thats decent of you.

Id probably benefit from shaving it but dont have the balls!

  12. Ive seen a lot of people through work and Ive noticed people looking. Im actually getting less bothered about it. Still wear a hat when Im not in a work environment but maybe wont in the coming weeks.

Anyway day 26 post- my native hair is growing at the front and a bit unsure what to do with it. Wouldnt mind growing it all and having it brushed forward like I used to but know there will be some very awkward stages between now and then.

Also getting like a weird stubble where there are short hairs coming through.
