  1. Wow, can't believe its been 3 weeks already. Time really flew. I've lost about 75% of the grafts so far. I've read a lot about shock loss on here. I realize its highly unpredictable, but one question I'm trying to get answered is, when does shock loss typically occur post op? I've read in a Spex post that if it doesn't happen by 4 weeks post op, it most likely will not happen.
  2. I was told by my doctor that FUE isn't effective as FUT. I've also read a lot on this forum that says the same. I keep my hair longer so I don't really care about the scar. I mostly just care about my front hair line being as strong as it can be.
  3. I had minor FUT done to cover my temples two weeks ago. I found the surgery to be relatively painless and easy. The worst part was some minor swelling in my forehead that caused me to stay inside, but that cleared up in about 5 days. The sleeping was a little rough being only able to lie on my back, and I exercise a lot so not doing much was tough. Overall though, there wasn't much pain and it wasn't that big of a deal. The best part about the surgery so far was that the darkness of he scabs combined with the new hair filled in my problem areas and looked amazing. EXACTLY what I was looking for. I was super happy and confident going out with this look as no one could see any effects of the surgery. If it looks like that when it grows back in, I'll be happy. I've already been told though that the darkness of the scabs contributed to the look and it won't quite reach that result. Bummer! The scabs have been falling off and hairs have been slowly coming out, so now at two weeks the overall look is not quite as good as it was (bummer again), but not all the hairs are out yet, so its still better than nothing. Anyway, I'm already considering doing another FUT to fill in some more. My question is, is a 2nd FUT as effective? Do the results lessen with a 2nd FUT? How long do I have to wait? I'm very excited to try some more.
  4. I have a little swelling in the bridge of my nose area and just above. Its my 4th day post op. Any suggestions on how to lessen this? Or how long it takes to go away. I've read here icing isn't a good idea. Its not terrible, but I'll have to go back to work in about two days and hope its gone or drastically less by then.
  5. Nothing is happening like that at all. I'm just curious as what it would take to lose grafts.
  6. I'm pretty much doing all of what you listed, just trying to get a gauge on how these things might come out, thanks for your answers.
  7. I'm two days post op. What could possibly make the grafts pop out of become damaged? Showering? Rolling over on them while sleeping? etc. I'm a little paranoid to even move.
  8. I'm 2 days out of a FUT surgery. I'm wondering if sweating affects the grafts. Has anyone had experience with this? I'm not exercising hard, just walking my dog, by my forehead is a little sweaty. Thanks in advance for your help
  9. I see Dr. Parsa Mohebi posts here too. Anyone have strong recs for him or Dr. Rassman? Also, is there like the "celebrity" hair transplant doc? The one that actors and musicians and so on go to? I guess that might be near impossible to find out, but you'd think someone on this board might know something.
  10. Thanks Atticus, any pics to look at? Sounds like you had something similar done that I am looking to do.
  11. Hey all, What a cool and informative website. I happen to be in the entertainment industry and live in LA, but oddly I've only recently heard of FUE. If FUE is truly so simple, you'd think actors and musicians and such would be getting it non stop these days and it would be more well known. Maybe its happening and its really well hidden? It seems like an incredible solution for me, I am 40, a Norwood II, luckily not much receding, and by reading all your posts, it seems I wouldn't need that many grafts to get back to an almost perfect hairline. (I know its not as drastic as most of the cases on here, but hey, the entertainment industry can be fucking cruel!) So I'm hoping I'm an ideal candidate for a very minor FUE session. We'll see. But anyway, my most important question is, what surgeons do recommend in Los Angeles? I'd really appreciate your advice and thoughts, thank you.
