  1. Mine came back and then some. It was a very rough four months but then it starts and fully recovers (in my situation). I'm 50 so I would think a younger person would have better success than me.
  2. Just posted 8 month results. Just one pic but you'll see where I am -- not bad for 50! Hair Restoration Journal for sgs - HT #4 8 months
  3. IMHO the Dr's that are accepted and pay to post their results here are in hopes of selling transplants. It's a business decision and likely one they have each decided is a good one. While we all want the best for everyone in our position, it's still a business. Again, IMHO.
  4. I was thinning more than it appeared. I did this for my 50th Bday present to myself and couldn't be happier. It may look like HT#4 was just in the hairline, but not so. I addressed everything hoping this would be my last. Mostly preventative on my part and I couldn't be happier. However, getting to the 4/5 month point was not easy in my case.
  5. Gobble, on my first three HTs I didn't have shock loss as they were quite some time ago and mostly focused on the hairline (that I didn't have). My last procedure I addressed my entire frontal, mid and crown area. I can honestly say I lost at least 80% of existing hair. Could be because of my age, I don't know. However, everything is coming in better than I could have imagined as I approach 6 month post HT #4.
  6. Not the answer you want but time is the answer. I used Toppik in large amounts to cover what I could. No one said anything but I question how obvious it was. Wish I had a better response.
  7. Thanks. You can see my history here: Hair Restoration Site for sgs I've used it all but currently use Avodart 0.5 every other day, Rogain Foam at night and generic 2% minoxidil in the morning. Steve
  8. Good day. I'm posting a series of photos here to show how if you catch MPB early, you can keep up with it. The last two pictures are 5.5 months (today) after my 4th HT. First HT was in 1992. I have to admit some of the toughest times were dealing with the shock loss from this latest procedure. I am a manager and sit in a very bright office -- I should own stock in Toppik. However, looking at the latest photos, I'm almost embarrassed at how much hair/growth I've gotten from my latest HT. To those of you who are young -- I won't tell you what to do but suggest you use resources that are out there. First photo is Pre Op HT 1 in 1992. Second is late 90s after 3 HTs. Photo 3 is sometime in 2011. The rest start with Pre Op HT #4 27 Jan 12. My experience is detailed on my web site. I'm going to try and get a 6 or 7 month Post Op with the Doc for more detailed photos. Feel free to comment.
  9. Just posted one photo two days short of five months. I cut it to an inch this past weekend. I'm going to let it grow and will post a more comprehensive review at six months.
  10. Just posted 4 month 2 week photos. Big change in 2 weeks.
  11. No problem. You can look at my photos. I had terrible shock loss -- native and previously transplanted hair. Three months we awful but at four months things started looking up. Hang in there, I bet you'll end up looking great.
  12. I think you need to read what Dr. Lindsey posted a while back... Dr. Lindsey... Today you will leave with a crew cut of new hair wherever we place it. 7 days from now you'll get your sutures out and most likely you won't have cleaned enough...but once you wash away any remaining scabs in the recipient area...you should look pretty good. That hair will grow for one month and then just about all of it, AND any of your native hair in that area, will fall out. Nothing will happen for 6 weeks, and then your native hairs will start to regrow. You'll think its our new hair, but its most likely not. So from week 5 to 11, you will be balder than now, then at about 3 months you'll be back to baseline with your native hair. At around 6 months, some of the new hair will be growing. Sometimes its earlier (luck) and sometimes its later(absence of luck). 1 year from today, I'd expect you to have pretty good results but its probably 15 months til you are max'd out....but no one can remember to come in at 15 months, so we do an even year. If you are a revision of previous surgery, particularly a plug repair...add 3 months to the above timeline starting at the 3 month event noted above.
  13. Thanks Gents. I had grafts in the hairline, mid-scalp and crown. I think that's why I had so much shock loss! Below is a post from Dr. Lindsey (not my Dr.) of what he tells his patients. This is so accurate IMHO... Dr. Lindsey... 14. I just posted my four month results on my website -- things are looking up. Hair Restoration Site for sgs
  15. Dr. Lindsey, This is the most accurate and honest description of progress I've ever heard. Everyone should pay very close attention to what you've said here. Thx, Steve
  16. Dutch, I had a 2.9 cm by 29.5 cm strip with approximately 8,000 hairs in singles, doubles and multi-units. I had asked to soften the hairline and then add as much density as possible -- front to back. Time will tell. Thx
  17. I finally just created a website to log my 30 year hair loss fight -- 20 years of transplant history. Latest pics are three months post op from my last HT. I'll try and update each month from here on for the next nine months or so. It's a battle. Hair Restoration Site for sgs
  18. Thanks RCWest and Spanker for the complements. It's been a struggle for sure but it's paid off (somewhat) so far -- though we're never totally satisfied. Spanker, I hear you on your Dr. True comment. It's frustrating to have gone there years ago remembering the Dr. saying "you'll always be back for touch ups". Yes, much has changed. Frustrating to see my results from then vs today's results. Still, time and money well spent. Toppik is keeping me going now while my most recent procedures matures. I had major shock loss -- it is growing back. I will update my status on 25 Apr, my 50th Bday. Thx
  19. Not a problem. I am a totally unpaid patient of referenced Dr. We'll see what happens over the next few months. Thx
  20. Here is what I had, from Dr. True's office. Funny thing is, I don't remember the 3 Dr. Coradaro procedures -- but then again, I'm 50 next week! errrr: Hi Steve You had 3 procedures with Dr. Cordaro consisting of 84, 85, & 71 grafts in 1992 and 1993. A total of 240 mini/micro grafts. In 1995 Dr. True did a procedure of 390 mini/mono grafts In 2001 Dr. True did a procedure of 410 mono/duo/trios. I have attached the pictures that we have of you. The non-polaroids I believe were from 2001 prior to your last procedure with Dr. True.
  21. RCWest, I consider my Bosley and Dr. True visits sub-par. I call it like it is. My most recent procedure, like I said, is too soon to tell. My results, just short of 3 months, are promising. I agree with you on the money spent. Original procedures were very costly with minimal coverage...hair line only, pluggy at best by both Drs (Bosley and True). Please see my profile, I give a pretty detailed description of my 20 yr search. No pointing fingers sir. I've done this for a while.
  22. bonkerstonker, I recently found this site. But, as you can see I've been in this for quite some time. My last procedure covered a lot of real estate. I had what I would call "weak" hair and suffered shock loss. But, in less than three months the progress is better than expected. My original post was sincere, I see some post for the sake of posting -- what I called cheer leading. I was just curious how the site work, who's paid and who isn't. As I said, no disrespect to anyone, I'm all in.
  23. Bonestonker, Please look here, you obviously didn't read what I wrote. I provide 20 years of history and photos. Since about the year you were born. What more do you want? Hair Restoration Social Network ? Community for and by Hair Loss Patients - sgs's Profile
  24. I've had several procedures over the past 20 years -- two by a highly recommended Dr. on this site with sub-par results (IMHO). Most recently I've had a procedure by a Dr. "shunned" by this site. Bottom line, I have been in this game longer than most and I'm a believer in this "technology"...I'm all in. I feel there is a lot of good work out there on this site, but there is also a lot of cheer leading. Having said this -- can we get an list (sticky) of those posters who are paid to post and those who pay to post? No disrespect to anyone.
  25. My shock loss was mostly with my remaining natural hair. The transplants I had in the past were quite some time ago and all in the frontal hairline. I'm using Toppik and keeping them in business till the growth starts. I'm also 50 yrs old so my hair is on borrowed time Here is a shot just post op. I had this emailed to me so the resolution isn't great.
