Dr. Glenn Charles comes reccomended by the Network..
-
I trust Dr. Charles and his reccomendation...I guess time will tell...
-
My post-op instructions said that all normal activity, including weight lifting, could be resumed when the grafts are secure, after 7 days..
-
What is the a reason you only went for 1600 grafts?
That was Dr. Charles's recommendation for the spot. If you look at the pics in my profile, you'll be able to see the post op photos with the transplanted hairs in place. Does that seem low for the area?

Wondering if this would be a temporary option...3 months after a HT, I notice there seem to be small, clear hairs growing among the "real" hairs that are maturing..I'm wondering if dyeing the transplant area would create an effect of more fullness...my concern, obviously, would be if there are any ill effects that might hurt my future growth...
-
Looking forward to it....

I have one critique on your story....mentioing Victoria Beckham's thong that early on, causes the reader's mind to wander....a lot...and and not put full focus on the rest of the story. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to leave...
-
Thanks! And thanks big time to this forum to help me make an informed decision....
-
I keep hearing that but it hasn't proved true so far
Tell ya one of the biggest differences is that Toppik works 10x better now and once you get color on that spot, you can really tell how much hair has actually grown..
-
So March 21st was my HT, 1693 to the crown (see my profile for before pics) and there has already been sigificant growth after 3 months, there also seems to be a bunch of little thin, clear hairs that hte camera doesnt really show, not sure if this is the start of new growth or what...cannot wait to see it when it starts to really fill in though! These next few months should be telling!
-
Was is it your first ever procedure Gettinold?
sure was..
-
Dr. Charles was a great choice...I'm only 2 months out from my procedure with him and already seeing growth....will most likely be going back in the future..
-
...and while we're on the subject of dubious clinics in Florida, he should beware of 'Dr' Larry Shapiro. Don't be tempted by his $1 per graft 'specials'!
As a general rule of thumb, never get cosmetic surgery by Ronald McDonald

hi does any one have any thing to say about Atlantis 2000 and Dr. Patrick Callaghan, M.D out of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida?
Forget Atlantis 2000 and go down the street and see Dr. Glenn Charles in Boca Raton, he performed mine and has has countless successes. He's also priced very competitively.

those have to be 2 of the nastiest, grossest, dirtiest looking dudes I have ever seen

that it is

I wish I had you to follow me in real life to help me from doing things wrong....

I did about a year of research before taking the plunge. Strangely enough, his was the first office to reply to my emails about a year ago. I kept doing research and corresponding with other doctors/clinics and then came across this site, where his name kept showing up with good reviews.. I read more reviews online, most of them were good, but the bad ones were soooo bad and undetailed that I really questioned their validity. Also looked at a few other doctors in that area, and learned another doctor's competitive advertising "style" is putting horribly written bad reviews up about Dr. Charles and others. Dr. Charles has videos on youtube that I watched and patient interviews, along with interviews with him on this site. This site helped me immensely in making a decision. He's also a good looking guy, which matters because if the doctor looks like a goofy version of Ronald McDonald (*cough* Larry Shapiro) then he's not going to care about my looks..Price was alos a factor, for $3 a graft plus a travel allowance, you're really not going to get much better than that with a good, reputable surgeon. He also gives you a pamphlet with this site and others to start blogging about your experiences, so you know he stand behind his work.

That pretty much mimics my experience there....very glad I chose Dr. Charles. If good results come from my crown, I'll be going back for more..
-
I thought I remember you saying you were going to Dr. Charles in August foir a HT?? Getting another one?
-
Understandable....but if you look, there are also new, thick hairs that were are much shorter than the transplanted hairs (must've already shed and started growing) there...I thought I wouldnt see these for at least another month or so...

Some facts about me, based 100% on personal experience:
The doctor prescribed pain pills for me, yet I never felt the need to take a single one of them...never even opened the bottle.
Slept ok the first night, wadded up a pillow and slept with my head hanging off for a few nights and only woke up a few times, not out of pain, just needed to re-adjust.
I'm 1 1/2 months out and already seeing growth.
My scar is completely hidden by my hair. I really dont undertand why anyone would pay for a HT and then buzz themselves, the only way you can see the scar.
My head felt "tight" for about a week, then felt normal, never really bothered me.
The boredom during the procedure is the worst part. You're going to a reputable doctor from what I've seen here, shouldn't worry about anything.. have fun and stop being a wuss
