  1. Hey guys sorry for the delay in posting I've been really busy with work lately.well the shockloss has finally cleared up just as Stephen Ar bhr said it would at times I was very low having a bald patch on the side of my head that I had to keep applying my wife's brown eye shadow to conceal.the growth has started and although it's still very early days I'm quite optimistic about my expected result.the next 3 months will be very exciting.I'm now able to style my hair again partly because my native has grown back but my new hair are making a difference even if just reducing the contrast o my scalp.the early growths are around 1cm long now.so far so good and Im really glad at this stage I went through with it ,I think when my grafts fully grow in and the density increases I'm gonna be very pleased.

  2. Hi Matt

Thats right he insisted on leaving it long to aid with the placement he said it was so he could see the direction of the hairs.

I took a month of work , my problem was that I disguised my receding hairline really well so preop that it was a shock to people seeing me with my recession exposed, I told everyone that I went on a stag night and as a practical joke someone put hair removal cream on my head, that's how I've explained the redness and the shockloss

  3. Hi z I think it was because it was such a small procedure he felt it wise to not touch the left side Im happy really as it means that can be used if I need a further procedure in future years.maybe I wouldn't have this shockloss though if the extraction had been spread but it's a case of short term misery for long term results and better donor manegment

  4. Hi dan

No I haven't shaved my head so the pics are 5 weeks of growth

The pic on your avatar looks like u have a great hairline I know pictures can be deceiving

But it does look solid,if u feel u need to do a Ht thats up to the individual I guess.but I'd avoid strip at your stage, I almost had a strip and thinking about it now it was a stupid idea for such a small number of grafts to be considering having a linear strip scar.I underestimated the impact on my life the recovery would have it really Zapps your confidence walking around with the after affects of a Ht I cannot wait to have a couple of inches of hair to style

  5. No I didn't ,I had a consult on England with farjo and realised they weren't for me so after deciding I wanted fue all my research led me to Bisanga I was adamant that I only wanted manual fue as I'd seen some terrible results using auto tools and the worst of all is neograft , I wouldn't let them use that on me for free

  6. Hi alix

My op was on a Monday so I travelled from the uk on the Sunday and stayed till Wednesday morning 3 nights in total and it cost me 200euro for me and my wife we stayed in the Catalonia which was 2mins away from the clinic.it took 3 hours from my house to folkstone then 30 mins on the tunnel with a 2 hour drive from Calais to Belgium. Total cost with shuttle petrol and hotel was less than ?500 and I never had to get out of the car ,I wouldn't have enjoyed a flight looking the way I did

  7. Thanks levarais

Yeah that's what's keeping me going at the moment ,knowing that it can only improve from here onwards.a mate is 6weeks ahead of me from his rahal fue and I get really jeleous that his hair is over an inch long and he's able to cover the op.o well I'll get there in the end and I'm sure I choose the right doc.I've got faith in Bisanga and his manual tool

  8. Thanks Chris

I know theres no benefit in stressing ,im ok one minute then i catch a glance of it and it really knocks your confidence, ive attached a pic of my hair 4 weeks pre op to show how well disguised it was ,the op at the minute has put 10 years on me ,im just preying i get a good result so its all been worth it

the actual shock loss isnt that big a deal as i can conceal it with my wifes brown eye shadow.

  9. UPDATE....................

    hi guys

im 5 weeks post op on monday and im think im at the lowest possible point right now.

it all started off great i actually went out at 3 weeks post op and no one could believe that id had a ht it was undetectable, every thing was going great until week when not only did i start shedding my grafts (i was hoping to avoid this, but deep down knew it was coming) but i had developed some nasty donor shock loss, it was a little thinner in the area above my right ear but within 3 days a large bald spot had developed.I knew this happened from time to time but you never expect it to happen to you.

the clinic have been great with stephen giving me awnsers to any questions i have and also reassuring me that this shockloss will return to normal eventually.

the hardest part is the shedding and having to face the public looking balder than ever people seem really shocked when they see me in comparison to my preop hair stlye as i used to hide it really well and a lot of friends and family never realised i had even receeded.

Im just looking forward to getting the next three months over with so i can regain some quality of life back i never thought for a second i would be so deeply affected by the recovery process it really has been a tough few weeks

  10. Hi Barry

I'm glad you've asked this question as I'm going through something similar myself

Ive been on fin 1 mg daily for 10 months now and recently my libido gas fallen off a cliff

I've also noticed some drying out if the skin.when I started fin my sex drive was really high

And I was taking quinagolide to counteract high prolacatin which made my libido even higher

As it raises testosterone i stopped quinagolide 6 months ago and my sex drive was still quite high.

I was considering just taking half a tablet per day hopefully this would help with the libido

    And the skin.

I've just had a Ht so I don't want to risk coming off the fin and start losing hair behind the transplant

Barry be careful if you come off and still have a Ht as you could end up chasing your tail trying to stop the loss.

I too would love some advice on this

  11. Hu guys thanks for the positive feedback

Gothairinfront .. Yeah swelling has been awful but it's going now thankfully

And I didnt care about people seeing me looking freaky the way I see it is hair loss has made

Me feel self conscious for 10 years so I can put up with a few funny looks

To hopefully be free of the stress of having to spend

40 mins every morning styling my hair so no one could see

    My recessed hairline

  13. Hi Guys

Well im back in the uk now after my fue procedure with dr bisanga in brussels.

The whole process was pretty much a breeze, and looking back im not sure Why i was so nervous and anxious about the op.

The only thing that wasnt nice was the numbing jabs, i had underestimated just how many injections were needed to numb the area but the jabs to the recipient area were the worst ...ouch:eek:

Im taking every possible step to ensure this ht has a great chance of yeilding a good result.

I travelled from the uk via the euro le shuttle and then drove through france into Belgium, mainly because i didnt want to wear a hat or even the bandana the clinic supplied post op, and because there was no airport lounges or planes to worry about it was ok ,i stayed in my car from belgium all the to my front door.

At the clinic i was impressed with the place as a whole i was welcomed on arrival and given a pre op document to fill in.

dr Bisanga then greeted me and led me to his office for my consultation i was

Originally planned for 1500 grafts but when the doctor saw me in the flesh he

changed his estimate to 1200-1300 as my forelock is still strong.

before long i was in the chair recieving the injections then in came the doc and started making the punches there was no pain at all. after around 950 punches we stoped for lunch with the grafts still in my head i had a 30 minute lunch and was given a choice of what i wanted to eat.

Back in the chair the nurse numbed the recipient area and the doc started making the slits again the only pain was the numbing injections.

once the initial grafts had been extracted and implanted they turned me on my side and began punching out the remaining grafts, these were then implanted .

my head was then cleaned and dressed and after a chat with the doc and phil i was escorted to my hotel by phil and instructed to apply my saline solution every 2 hours and return the next day for a clean up and for my hair to shaved.

At night ive ben tying my hands to my legs with bath robe belts and sleeping sitting up ,ill continue this until one week post op.

ive had a fair bit of swelling but its going down now at day 5.

the most worrying thing was washing the grafts as per the post op instruction

sheet as i was so nervous about these grafts to the point where i was scared to fart:)

im taking a month off work to fully heal, and was considering msm tablets

As youll se from the pics i havent gone too agressive with the hairline as i want to be sure that this op works out and if the density isnt great i didnt want a bigger area to rework also the doc advised me that it was best to be a little conservative which i think shows he is a good ethical doctor as i was willing to pay for more grafts.im sure there are doctors that would have taken the extra money.

    let me know your thoughts
