  1. This is a good point. You should try it and if you like it great, if not... well at least then you know. From what you can read in the forum and from some personal experiences I can tell that it is not so easy to find a good solution. It took me a bit before I found Total Cover Plus. Fortunately it works perfectly for me.
  2. With my system I avoid worrying and maintaining anything at all. I have it on my head and don't even feel that it is there. Around once every 5or6 weeks I go to the Total Cover Plus salon and get a new one and a new hair cut. In between I wash it normaly like I did when I had hair. With my system my life feels very much like living with hair. When I used to have hair I went to get a hair cut around every 5-6 weeks. That's what I'm doing now, as well. And in between I don't bother about anything. I wash my hair (including the system) normally and then I style it and I do everything just normally. So to me there isn't so much to bother about. And I would say the world looks at obvious and bad toupees as a joke. But they also laugh at bald people. However they don't laugh about something they don't recognise as a hair system. How could they laugh about my system ifthey don't even know that I'm using one.... Obviously there isn't a point in using a hair system, no matter if it is good or bad, if you feel good being bald. But if you feel bad, then there aren't so many solutions that seem satisfying to me. And a good hair system is definetly one! I feel better with hair and I look better with hair. There are some people who have really bad looking systems or wigs or use some very hard to maintain attachment methods. In that case I understand your point. However in my case I don't have to worry about maintaining it, it is not expensive, it looks real and good. So why shouldn't I or anybody else use a hair system?
  3. Hi brianwhitskey I'm using a Total Cover Plus system. I don't know what you would call this system. The system is fitted and fully bonded to the bald area. With this system you don't get clips or anything like it. The adhesive is already built into the system. So it is applied and stays on the head. It looks good and nobody has ever made any comment about my hair as it looks just very natural and I don't even feel that it is on my head.
  4. I don't understand all the objections when it comes to hair systems. My hair system feels so good and to be honest I don't understand what should make me feel sad about my hair system.... ?!?!?!?!? I don't even have the problems that Brianwhitsky has. I can go swimming and do whatever I want. It is undetectable and I feel good. So I don't understand all the negative points towards hair systems. I can only encourage people to go for a hair system. Nevertheless be carefull and do some research to find your perfect solution.
  5. Hi this is very similar. Basically there is a very thin layer of polyurethane mixed with something else which imitates a few characteristics of the normal human skin. It is very thin (0.03 mm) and it has pores to allow it to breathe. Then it is attached with a special full bonding method which allows your skin to breathe with the hair system's "skin". Then it feels as if the hair was your own hair and you can style your hair the way you want it. It is definitely the best solution that I could think of and therefore also the best solution I could think of in London
  6. amongst all the solutions available I find hair systems the best, when it comes to getting a full head of hair. Nothing else can be as good. So I would encourage you to go for it. But be careful to choose the right company and be prepared to ask many questions and look hard to find a good solution. But once you have found your perfect solution you will be really happy!
  7. Hi I haven't tried it. But to be honest so far there hasn't been a risk free and efficient way to solve the problem of hair loss. Otherwise there would be a huge hype everywhere and the media would be full of the solution for bald people. But actually the way it seems there isn't such a solution. Even if it sounds bad I would advice you to accept that there isn't much you can do against genetic hair loss unless you want to accept the risk of side effetcs. Genetics make us who we are. If you can't live without hair then I would suggest you go for a hair system. There are some really good ones.
  8. Hi Gemmamatt1 I am using a Total Cover Plus hair system. I am really happy with it as it feels as if it was my own hair. Do you have any questions in particular?
  9. I have to agree with beemark in most points. My hair loss affected me so muc and I knew I had to do something. But there is the stigma of the toupee. And I never wanted a dead rat on my head. I researched a lot. I am realy happy with the results. When I started losing my hair I wore hats most of the time. So when I first used a hair system a lot of people didn't even realize that I had lost my hair. Some comments were that I looked so relaxed:) Noone ever detected it. BEEMARK's first point (attachment, etc.) doesn't apply to me as I use total cover plus and I don't have to do any of that. I only go there every 5,6 or7 weeks and get new hair and it stays on my head until my next appointment and to answer DANTHEMAN's question - with my system there is as much maintenance to do as with normal hair. I wash my hair(inlcuding the system) normally in the mronings and take a bath whenever I want. I play football once a week. Total Cover Plus makes my life easy. I never used anything else, so I can't say so much about other methods. But as Norwoodsman wanted advice from top quality system wearers I can only advice you to go for what I have. It's all I could ask for.
