  1. Hey Levrais, Thanks a lot for sharing your research. I will be doing light cardio and gradually increasing the intensity..but wont touch the weights till the 3 month mark...hope that is fine... Yes...Its 5 weeks and 1 day....`m basically counting each day these days... Scabs were all gone at the 15th day mark...blood clots were not visible after my first hair wash I guess...Scar is covered with native hair since the day of my surgery....even after trimming it... Pics...Will post them at 2 month mark...not much to judge as of now...However, I click pics of my head from my phone almost daily.. Around 80-85% of the transplanted hairs has fallen....cant wait to see the new growth...even after so much research and knowing the in and out of hair transplant...I cant believe `m so impatient....
  2. Thanks a tonne.....It really gives more confidence to me to get an advice from experienced people like you on this forum...
  3. Just an update..Its almost 5 weeks since my surgery..will be 5 weeks tomorrow to be precise... I could say that around 60% of the transplanted hairs has fallen and 40% remains still..I have trimmed the hair extremely short at sides and back to give a similar look though out my head... Donor area, I believe is healing on its own....no pain is there...but once in a while I just get some sensation over there...not much to bother about... To be frank, I took extreme care of my head till and my health till now and I hope it pays... I went to the gym today for the first time after my HT and did light cardio for 40 mins...(Walk on treadmill: 15 mins, Cross trainer: 10 mins, Cycling: 15 mins) and did a bit of stretches on machine. As per my HT surgeon's team, I can start exercising after 15 days of my HT surgery, but I was just over cautious and started it just today and `m still concerned about it... I have decided to not to do Weight training for another 2 weeks and just continue with light cardio... Though I did not feel any pain on my donar area today, I just felt a bit a sensation now and then...may be it was just in my head as I was concentrating only on the donar area through out... I would be glad if any of you could suggest me whether I am right to start light cardio after 5 weeks of my HT or should I give more time? I don't want to risk a wider donar scar by putting much stress on it by doing much exercise...At the same time, I have to concentrate on my fitness, but that can wait if required... Any advice would be appreciated... Thanks in advance...
  4. Thanks...I just did light walking on treadmill...10 minutes of cross trainer and another 10 minutes of cycling and stretches...have decided to follow only this for few days and then increase gradually...no weight for atleast another 15 days now.. What I am concerned about is, I am doing this cardio only because I feel that it wont harm 1 month after surgery...if you guys advice to give more days...then I will follow that way...as I dont want to take risk unnecessarily Thanks a lot for your reply...
  5. Hello everyone... I had a FUT surgery on 8/08/2011 for 3400 grafts. Its been exactly 1 month and 2 days now and today was the first day I entered gym after that.. Just did a light 40 minutes cardio..was careful not to bend much and not to take to much of a strain...all the time, I was just concentrating on the sensations in my Donar Area.. Though there was no pain, there was a light sensation in my donar area..may it was just in my head...not sure.. According to the clinic where I had my HT, I can do exercises 15 days after my HT, but still, wanted a confirmation from knowledgeable people on this forum that am I right to start light cardio today or should I wait for some more time?? When can I start light weight training and floor exercises likes abs, crunches??? I am not an athlete or body builder...just do regular cardio and weight training to stay fit...had started gymming only 1 year before and `m afraid that whatever weight I have lost in one year...i might regain it, if I dont continue exercising....that was the reason I went to the gym today after 5 weeks of my HT. What do you guys suggest?
  6. Hello, Sorry for replying so late....Was just busy with few things in life.. Coming to your query regarding Age...It depends on Patient to Patient and Doctor to Doctor. Do check out this thread for more information on this: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/152790-question-answer-am-i-too-young-hair-transplant.html As far as I understand, It depends on your hair falling pattern....Good Doctors don't advice young patient for transplant just because they are not sure about where did the hair fall pattern for the patient lead to in future. In my case, I started loosing hair around 6 years ago and the pattern was good enough for Doctor to immediately suggest me for a transplant. And considering the age, Dr. has transplanted a conservative hairline as I might require more work later on. In any case, as a thumb rule, less than 25 Years could be too early...but beyond that, considering the Hair loss stage, one could always consider a good doctor for a transplant. Hello Sam, Thanks for the Wishes. I also really hope that it gives me a new look. I have actually forgotten about when did I last had a proper looking hair. I have already given my feedback on Dr. Madhu...Rest of the feedback can only be given once the hair grows up...Its exactly one month now since my transplant and the result seems a long wait as of now. About the charges, they have details on there website and its quite transparent with no hidden charges as such. About me, for 3400 grafts and according to Rs. 50/graft, I paid Rs. 1.7 lakh in all (3400*50). Hope that helps.
  7. Wow Man...I agree...`m Lucky.. Can I buy Minoxidil made by you in India???and whats your medical regime like? What % Minoxidil do you apply and whats the dosage?1 ml twice a day or 2 ml once a day?? Also, whats your dosage of Finasteride? Any other medications?? Do let me know please...I guess, you being such a perfectionist, must have been following a solid medical routine regarding hair...
  8. Ya....but according to you...I assume that my 10% is also fine to use 4 months after transplant....is that right?? By the way, `m really amazed at your knowledge....you have studied medicines or what??
  9. You are Welcome Dude...Scabs are all gone now from the recipient zone...It went completely exactly on the 14th or 15th day. I have absolutely no idea abut how my donor area looks like....Its well covered even after I got the trimming done...There is some redness I believe....nothing much I can say about donor area as of now..but I am sure, its healing slowly & slowly.. However, only few of the transplanted hairs have shed till now and most of it still remains on my head and I guess they are growing also...As I have read here for lot of patients...those hairs should start falling soon...Lets see... Thanks for the Wishes.... I really hope it grows well and looks good...Lot of research...courage...pain...hopes...expectations have gone in to it....`m least bothered about the money spent if it turns out good at the end of the day.
  10. There is a company called Dr. Reddy's which manufacture this drug. In India, there are only two brands available Dr. Reddy's & Cipla. In fact I just checked specifications of Minoxidil 5% which I have now started using after H.T., it also says that Alcohol (95%) IP equivalent to Absolute Alcohol 40% v/v, the Minoxidil IP is 50 mg.
  11. My Minoxidil does not mention anything apart from Minoxidil IP - 100 mg, Alcohol (95%) IP eqivalent to Absolute Alcohol 40% v/v...Don't know what does that mean...
  12. JKR, I believe you can easily go with Dr. Madhu....You have already read my story...and If you wanna see my results also...you can wait for some time.....anywayz...I m on my 20th Day of HT and its pretty fine till now... Regarding scock loss...I dont have any medications to counter shock loss and neither did I go to consult Dr. Madhu regarding it...since its very minute and as I understand, thats pretty normal and it will grow back...Will show to Dr. Madhu when I go for my Monthly Check Up some time next month....but to be frank...the shock loss is not that much or that scary that I should be bothered about as of now...It mite increase later on though...
  13. Hey Buddy, Thanks for replying and providing such insight on this. My HT doctor has asked me to stick to 5% for around 4 months after transplant and said that after that I can apply 10% My problem is since I was already using 10% before transplant and I was seeing decent results, I stocked it up just because I was getting a good discount on it. Currently, I have 5 packed bottles of 10% Minoxidil with me, which is like 6 months supply for me. Just wanted to know, that after using 5% Mintop for the next four months, can I start applying 10% again. Will it be safe and positive or is 5% advisable? Generally, what is preferable according to you,5% or 10%? Does 10% provide better results as such?
  14. Yes, its been exactly 2 weeks since my HT today and I have joined office today... Coming to your question, yes there is minor shock loss at the right end of the donor strip.
  15. Yep Spex....Its a long road and its just the beginning for me...Patience is the Key word for sure... Thanks for the concern dude..
  16. Normal medicines Dude...One was a Pain Killer...then there was an Antibiotic and then there was Vitamin C tablet...thats it...
  17. Congrats dude...Results seems to be good..However, havent seen much of your pre-op pics so cant comment....Are you happy??? How many grafts did you get?? Howz life with full head of hair???
  18. Thanks for the comment Spex. Yep, seems like `m a little bit over anxious as this was my first surgery of any kind and a lot of thought and research had gone into it. Got to be patient from now onwards....Thank ya...!! Regards..
  19. Hello Aaron, Thanks a lot for the feedback. I `m also quite optimistic and waiting for the next 6 months to fly away and see my transplant results. Will keep posting on regular basis...
  20. You can opt for absorable stitches...not an issue with that...but i guess, he charges little bit extra for that. Regards
  21. Can any one post their views on this issue plz...
  22. Hello Pokerboi, 1) 2800 grafts estimate may be rough estimate by Dr. Madhu's team, and if your scalp laxity is good, he would be able to extract more grafts and would do his bit to extract as much as possible. 2) Post Op, 2nd half of Day 2 & 1st half of Day 3 of the transplant was painful at the Donor Scar but bearable. There was a swelling on my forehead for day 3, 4 & 5, which gradually decreased in next couple of days. 3) To be very frank, I myself have not seen the donor scar. I know, its a bit foolish, but cant help it, as first 3 days, it was covered with band and now, after staples removal, there are still absorbable thread of stitch remaining at the Donor Scar and as my hair around the Donar Hair is quite long, its not visible clearly. Will go and trim my non-transplanted hair this weekend to match the transplanted hair and will then take the pic of donor scar and post it. Regards.
  23. Hello Buddy, I am glad you read the story completely. I beleive you have already gone through Dr. Madhu's website, if not, go through it thoroughly if you plan to have H.T. Regarding me, I am from the same city and just had to travel from my Home to his clinic, which is around 20 Kms.. If you plan to have H.T. with him, say on Saturday morning, its advisable to reach Hyderabad by Friday noon or evening...Have your H.T. on Saturday morning, take rest in your Hotel Room on that evening, Come for hair wash on Sunday noon, catch an evening Volvo to Pune and reach Pune by Monday morning. Regarding the Head Band, you can keep that with you... Regards
  24. Well ya...Finax will be alternate days for sure. Mintop 10 or Mintop 5 is the confusion. Since I was already using Mintop 10, I have five packed bottles with me in store. Now, should I go and try to get it replaced with Mintop 5 or continue with it. In both the cases, I would like to stick to using it only once in the night, which I have been doing for months.
