  1. Ive never used them so can't vouch.

There are a few reliable GP's who provide private finasteride prescriptions in the UK.

If you require their contact info feel free to message me or email: support@spexhair.com

If you order with fox online let us know how you get on.

Full marks for the sly promotion. It's pretty funny how you promote and recommend a GP who charges more for meds than another GP mentioned here, yet your signature makes no mention of the fact that you have admitted to getting "discounted" meds from the GP you recommend. I'd be surprised if you aren't actually getting FREE meds plus money on top for the amount of business you must get your favoured GP.

It's hardly ethical to work for him in what is essentially a covert way while another GP used by others here is supplying the same medication for significantly less money.

  2. I don't want to take any more than the recommended dose, so I don't want to cut it into 4. Also, when I tried using a pill cutter it crumbled more than when I used a knife. Ugh, I don't know. I'm tempted to stick to 1mg a day tablets, except now that I've bought the Proscar I need to try to work it out (plus it's much cheaper). At the moment I'm using the last of my Propecia. It looks like I'll be cutting the Proscar into five as best I can and hoping it works..

Where in the UK are you? Maybe that affects the price somehow.

  3. I'm not sure that's true? I get my Finasteride prescribed 4 months at a time by my local GP (since it's generic and usually intended for prostate treatments the meds are 28 x 5mg).

Also, the prices being quoted seem insane for what is exactly the same product. A 12 month supply costs me 15 pounds.

Today I got a prescription from my GP (for free) for generic Finasteride at 45 pounds a month, or 540 a year, from the local pharmacy. And Propecia is 780 pounds a year from the same pharmacy (I know I can get that cheaper through an online pharmacy I've used previously). My GP refused to give me a Proscar prescription because she didn't feel comfortable with me having to cut each pill into five.

So I have no idea how you get your Finasteride so cheaply, even though you get the 5mg tablets, but I'm satisfied Dr Sarwar's prices are fair.

My only issue now is cutting up the Proscar into five. I'm unconvinced it's as reliable as taking whole 1mg tablets a day, but I know it has worked for others so maybe I'm worrying unduly.

  4. Hmm. I knew there was bound to be a significant price mark up for it to be worth their time to sell the drugs online, but it wasn't any more expensive than paying for a private GP consultation and getting it that way. Now I'm wondering if I should have asked my NHS GP. I'm seeing them today on an unrelated matter, I'll ask if they will give a private prescription.

P.S....So I saw the GP. She didn't even know what Proscar/Propecia etc. was. I told her, then she said to return tomorrow for my prescription. it'll be interesting to see how much it costs. I have a feeling I should have just used my GP.

  5. I'm a GP based in Yorkshire and also provide Finasteride medications as I know the difficulties some patients can have to obtain a legal and genuine supply of Finasteride. The medications will be dispensed from a local NHS Pharmacy and delivered direct to your home, within 7 days.

The total delivered fees for the medications are:

    PROPECIA 1mg, 6 month supply = 330 Pounds (OR 580 Pounds for 12 months)

FINASTERIDE GENERIC 1mg, 6 month supply = 165 Pounds (OR 235 Pounds for 12 months)

    PROSCAR 5mg, 12-15 month supply = 150 Pounds

    FINASTERIDE GENERIC 5mg, 12-15 month supply = 100 Pounds

NB. For the 5mg tablets:12 month supply if each tablet is split into 4 or 15 month supply if each tablet is split into 5.

I can be contacted on kashsarwar@gmail.com for further details and the consultation forms.

    Kashif Sarwar

    GMC number: 6118961

I can confirm that Dr Sarwar gives a very good service. I received the medication within a few days of making the payment. I got the Proscar, for 50 pounds less than Dr Edgar charges for the same amount, so in my opinion Dr Sarwar is the better option to buy it from.

However, I'm finding it hard to split the Proscar pills equally into 5 pieces and without any crumbling. I can do an OK job but I'm wondering if everyone gets a little crumbling on cutting them up? Or should I use a better knife...

  6. EVERY HT PHYSICIAN RECOMMENDED BY THIS SITE MAKES EACH AND EVERY GRAFT RECIPIENT INCISION HIMSELF OR HERSELF. THEY MAKE 100% OF THESE INCISIONS, 100% OF THE TIME -- except, we recently learned, for Dr. Doganay, who allows technicians or nurses to make a third or more of the recipient incisions.

    Not according to Ezel:

"From the reponses thus far I know the fact that he isnt involved w the extraction process and only pops in really at the incision process has brought some light to those considering him."

  7. Instead of discussing whether music should be played or not in an operating room (without the consent of the patient) please focus on DoganayPatient's original list of concerns.

    Quote:

    1. Doganay was not present the entire time.

    2. A female tech with "10 years of experience" implanted a percentage of the hairs in the recipient area under Dr. Doganay's instruction. She seemed like she knew what she was doing, but it definitely wasn't Doganay doing the entire implantation.

    3. Pop radio music was played during the procedure and some of the other assistants seemed very young.

    4. The facility was underwhelming.

... multiple people getting similar bacterial infections, techs implanting grafts with the implanter pen, pop music in the operating room? ...

He's concerns are clearly not stemming from the dislike of the music that was played but the unprofessional environment and the possibility of a hygiene issue that caused him (and other patients) severe folliculitis.

    1. Dr Feller wasn't present the entire time in any of my three operations with him. That's not a criticism of him, I'm sure that's the norm rather than the exception with HT surgeons.

    2. Dr Feller didn't do any of the implantation in my three operations with him, it was done by his techs. Again, I expect this is the norm rather the exception.

    3. So what.

    4. Again, so what. At the price that doctor charges for surgery, you are going for an operation not a glitzy experience.

As for the infections, that's up for debate in terms of whether they are more common with that doctor or not.

  8. But at the same time, multiple people getting similar bacterial infections, techs implanting grafts with the implanter pen, pop music in the operating room? None of that is remotely acceptable and is absolutely refund-worthy.

Dr Feller has pop music playing in the operating room and so do many other doctors, no doubt. There's nothing intrinsically unacceptable about it, let alone refund-worthy.

  9. Well a couple of things Belgium and turkey safety wise are not far off from eachother, personally I think id feel safer in turkey there haven't been any attacks there, whilst France is very close to Belgium and several Belgian internationals have been found to be connected with extremism so in that aspect flip a coin.

There was a big bomb in Turkey recently. Turkey bomb: Almost 100 dead after attack in Ankara - BBC News

Belgium is a safe country, as is France. There are many more murders in the US, statistically. Sure, there's a terrorist threat, as I'm well aware living in central London, but you can't you live your life in fear and the threat exists in the US too.

  10. Stig, your running "joke" about the way I was screwed around over a less than optimal result is lame and foolish. You clearly don't understand what happened and have chosen to see it as some kind of petty gripe on my part. You're wrong but I couldn't care less, so I'm not about to go to the futile effort of explaining to you why.

Ezel, I sympathise with your situation. It must be frustrating to witness how a recent refund was granted to a Hanson and Wong patient, with a similarly poor result to you, after they went on the offensive using this forum as their mouthpiece. It's curious how different clinics respond to dissatisfied patients with poor results when they post on this forum.

  11. It's linked at the end of the "FUT is more popular than FUE" mega-thread. The reasons Dr Feller gave centred around his claim that he had asked me to return for a second pass in 6 months but I don't believe that had been the agreement. In the thread, he was very defensive and obstructive. This was around 4 years ago; I'm long since over it. I'm merely citing it as an example of how the responses of different clinics can vary (even though our two clinics both have the same rep). That said, my result was relatively better than yours is. I'd say at least 60 percent of my grafts grew.

  12. As for the reps. I do think it's a shame that the docs pay them and they are essentially mediators in all aspects of the process. If it was a team member of the actual office that went in 8-5 every day then I'd see that as someone who works for the doc and is doing his or her own job. But from what I take these reps don't work daily at the office. Correct?

At least you've been offered a free operation, which is far more than Dr Feller offered me when my result was less than ideal. Then it was denial, defensiveness and dubious excuses.
