  1. Hi Aaron, Thank you! And Dr. Haber was my doctor.
  2. Hi everyone, Well yesterday was the big day. I had my HT and God was it a long day!! The total was around 2755 graphs. A little more then we had planned, but that's o.k. I arrived around 8am (I got there a little late due to traffic) and they started immediately. I never felt any pain/discomfort with the injections and the removal of the donor strip. My head does feel a little weird where the staples are, but hopefully that goes away soon?? It also feels a little numb near my temples...not bad but just enough that I know it's there. The staff was very nice and professional, offering me refreshments all day and making sure I was comfortable. (As comfortable as you can be in a dentist type chair lol) They also bought myself and my mom lunch and let us eat together in an office. When I got home, I ended up taking some Tylenol for some very mild discomfort and a backache from laying in the chair all day. It helped and I slept fine. No pain today, just still feels kinda weird where the staples are. I will say that I can't wait to wash my hair in a little bit!!! lol I hope where the recipient area is starts to look more normal in the next day or 2. (Just a little dried blood and just a tad bit of the blue dye they use.) I am looking forward to the end of the week when the post op care is pretty much done and next week when I get the staples removed!! Thank you everyone for answering questions and talking with me about this. It helped so much to calm my nerves and re-confirm my decision to do this procedure. P.S I am unable to post pics right now due to the fact my laptop is being fixed for some hardware issues. I will post pics as soon as I get my laptop back. Thank you, Kathleen
  3. Dude, Thank you so much for the reply and encouragement! I just received my pre/post-op instructions in the mail today and very nervous. I was aware that Dr. Haber excises the donor strip and makes the recipient sites. My procedure will consist of roughly 2500 graphs and will also be an all day process. Did you experience any shock loss? Again, thank you for your advice. It helps! -Kathleen
  4. What is the difference between FUE and FUT?? Thanks!
  5. I don't know. I just joined this site a day or 2 ago, so this is all new to me. I will try to find someone and ask...
  6. I have no idea. I can't figure out how to read messages on here. I click on the link and it just takes me to the home page??
  7. Hi, How was it? I am doing it to replace hair loss. I have 3 pics posted on my profile to give you an idea of what I'm dealing with.
  8. Hi, Did you already have your surgery? I'm scheduled to have mine next month.
  9. Thank you, it is greatly appreciated! I will keep you posted and will post pictures along the way...
  10. Hi, I am going to be getting a HT from Dr. Haber next month....any advice? I am assuming that you would recommend him. =)
  11. Hi, Are there any women on this site that are experiencing hair loss and/or received a hair transplant??
  12. Hi, I am just curious, did you find a doctor? If so, did you go ahead with the HT?
  13. Rich, Thank you! I am still going through with it, praying that everything works out. I just keep telling myself that the end result will be worth it all....I am praying that is the case. =)
  14. Hopefully the HT will make it look better!
  15. Hi, It is androgenetic alopecia...sorry. lol Good, I'm glad to hear that! I was picturing most of the hair on top of my head falling out!! I hope it changes my life for the better!! He said I would also need a 2nd HT to include an additional 2500 graphs for the crown area, but I wouldn't have that done for another yr or so...that's if I find a job and can afford it. lol
  16. I changed my profile pic and I uploaded a few pictures to give you an idea of my hair loss.
  17. LOL...I thought my picture of flowers was girly, but I will change it to something that yells girly.lol As for the DHT, I have been told I have male pattern baldness (go figure), so DHT is my enemy as well. lol I plan on avoiding people for 6 months or so. I can't wear wig, doesn't seem like it would be comfortable, especially in the summer months. Too hot! Where are your surgeons located? My doctor is Dr. Haber.
  18. I have researched my doctor and he is recommended on this site, has done plenty of segments on local news stations and is recommended my multiple organizations, so I am hopeful he knows what he is doing. I recently lost my job, so I don't have to worry about going out too much. If and when I do, I guess if need be I would wear a baseball hat. =) By the way, thank you for taking the time to talk with me about this. I appreciate it. =)
  19. Bonkerstonker, I did look at your website and that is what I am terrified of happening. I mean no offense towards you, but the shock loss is what is making 2nd guess my decision. If you had it to do over again would you? I also noticed that you had over double the amount of graphs that I will be receiving. My hair is shoulder length right now, so that should cover the donor incision/scar. At times I think I can live with my thinning hair, that it is no big deal, then all I have to do is look in a mirror and I don't like what I see. Or I go to the store and see women with a full head of hair or look at pictures of myself and I get depressed. I don't know if I am overreacting over something that may not even happen....
  20. Stuart, Thank you for the advice and support! Spex, Thank you for the link with all the information!! I am still scared about it, but I still think it is worth a chance.....
  21. Hi everyone, I recently joined this site and have found it quite informative. Earlier today I scheduled myself for a hair transplant for next month. I am excited and nervous!! My biggest fear is shock loss. Has anyone here experienced it? just how bad can it get?? I was told only about 10%-20% of people experience it after surgery. Ant advice/tips would be greatly appreciated. I have talked with my doctor and while he has answered any questions I have asked him, it isn't the same as talking with multiple people who have gone through what I am about to go through. I hope that makes sense. Thanks!!
  22. Hi, Yes I know he received the Golden Follicle award and have done some research on this site among others. I just like to speak to actual patients for their personal opinion. =) I more scared it won't work and/or shock loss. Plus it's a lot of money. lol
