I've had two FUT procedures with Dr. Dorin and I couldn't be happier with the results. It was life changing.

I myself have had two FUT procedures with Dr. Dorin in May of 2011 and July of 2012. I found him to be highly professional and skilled, and the results exemplary. I met with several doctors who are prominent on this site, including Dr. Feller, prior to choosing Dr. Dorin. While I certainly respect Dr. Feller and had no issues with his abilities, I just clicked with Dr. Dorin and he was a better fit for me. I also understand being anxious and wanting to get your desired result in one procedure. I certainly shared that desire but Dr. Dorin was clear with me from the beginning that it would take two smaller procedures to get the optimal outcome. At the end of the day, I now realize that it's better to be patient and get the result you expect and want rather than rush a result that may be less than stellar just to get it all done in one sitting. The outcome I've had with Dr. Dorin can be summed up very easily. I honestly don't really give a sh*t about my hair anymore, and I mean that in an immensely positive way. I'm no longer obsessed with my hair. I don't worry and it doesn't occupy my time or thoughts like it used to evey single day. Because I'm now happy with my hair it's become an afterthought, which is the the way it should be. Feel free to message me if you have any other questions.

I would definitely discuss your concerns with Dr. Dorin, because I am sure that any perceived shortcomings with your first procedure will be remedied with a second procedure. Although we'd all like to get it done in one sitting at one time, it's definitely a two step process to get the ultimate result. I've been taking Propecia daily (1mg) for about 13 years or so. I've always been very vigilant about my hair loss, so I started taking it at the first sign of thinning in the crown. Although my hair loss was never what could be considered to be severe on the spectrum, it bothered me just the same. Without the Propecia, there's no telling how much more severe my hair loss would have become.

Kuji, I myself have had two FUT procedures with Dr. Dorin. His approach is always very conservative, at least in my experience and the apparent experience of all of his other patients who are active on this site. Prior to having my first procedure, Dr. Dorin was very straightforward with me about the need for me to have two smaller procedures rather than one big procedure. I had diffuse thinning at the hairline and the crown. My two procedures totaled a little under 2000 grafts combined, with the first procedure being 1033 grafts in May of 2011 and the second being 850 in July of 2012. Although I was satisfied with the results of the first procedure, it was only after the second procedure that I really felt that I achieved (and am still achieving) my desired result. I suspect that you are similarly situated. Prior to my procedures with Dr. Dorin, my obsession over my hair and concealing my hair loss caused me immeasurable distress on a daily basis. I used to load my hair up with gel and hair spray to the point of it looking so unnatural that baldness would have actually been a preferable look if I was able to accept it. Between procedures, that obsession with my hair was alleviated to a large degree. However, it was only after the second procedure that it was really gone. My daily hair preparation routine has gone from an hour to a minute. I am sure that Dr. Dorin will get you there as well. Best of luck.

Hey that's me! Thanks for all the positive feedback. One correction though. I was 40 when those pictures were taken, and I'm now 41 having just undergone my second FUT procedure with Dr. Dorin three weeks ago today for another 950 or so grafts to add additional density. I couldn't be more pleased with Dr. Dorin, True and Dorin and their entire staff. I did my research to the point of being obsessive prior to deciding to go with Dr. Dorin. I met with several other Coalition surgeons as well. Not as a slight to any of the doctors who I met with, who were all great, but I knew that I was going with Dr. Dorin within about 30 seconds of meeting him. Great bedside manner, clear skill and the conservative approach needed for my particular case. Hair Restoration is clearly as much an art as it is a science, and maybe more so. Well, Dr. Dorin is both a scientist an an artist.
