    bump in the back

2 weeks after my HT, a couple days after suture was removed, I noticed a bump or swelling formed on the back of my head, right above where suture used to... Talked to my doctor, and he syringed a sample out of the swollen area or bump to find blood with serium. He recommended that I be patient about it and wait a little longer. It's been a month (6 wks post op) since the bump was discovered, and it has not subsided. An odd observation is that the bump is very small in the morning and grows bigger as the day goes on. I wonder if it has anything to do with the gravity that pulls fluid down for the bump to collect the fluid, etc while I am standing up during the day. I'm seeing a dermetoligist about it soon.

    6 weeks post ops

Shedding continued... Hope I am at the end of shedding phase. I lost significant amount of my existing hairs from shedding. Very concerned... but remain hopeful as my doc says it's normal to experience shedding and most of those lost hairs will grow back in a couple mounths...

Lost a lot of my existing hairs... Looks significantly worse, especially in the front, than before the surgery...

  6. I wish I could see this kind of growth after 6 months. When did you start noticing your new hairs? Thanks.
  7. I did a scalp massage this morning and found blood oozing out of several of transplanted hairs that I didn't even touch during the massage. I simply placed my hands on both sides of my head (neither donor or recepient sites) and gently squeezed my scalp... Did I lose those hairs? Please help! Thank! -TJ
  8. Thehairupthere, I had been on rogain and propecia in the past and seen some improvement, especially from propecia, but I became lazy and stopped taking... Recently I started on both medications; propecia for 2.5 month and rogaine for 0.5 month ago. I am glad to hear you say that I need about 2000 grafts for the crown and top, because that's exactly what I had done about a month ago. I wanted to get some expert opinions whether the number of graft I went with are sufficient to give a good coverage. I did about 500 grafts on the front third. I'm also into my third month of laser treatment. I am trying many things at once out of desperation, because my hair loss has accelerated of late... But the problem with this is that I won't know which of the medications/treatment work for me. All I care at this point is to have a good coverage as quickly as possible, as I am trying to schedule my wedding by the end of the year... I guess I'll worry about what works and what doesn't later... Thanks for sharing your expert opinions again! -TJ
  9. How many grafts do you think I need to fill the empty looking area (top and crown, and front third) for a good coverage? Thanks! -TJ
