Greatjob, wow for 3,340 grafts in a larger area this is looking amazing and to think you still have more growth to come

noticeable thinness still but I think it's on it's way. My doctor told me I should be at around 40%-50% growth at 5 months..I think I am way past 40% growth but I hope hes right...that would mean I'll need hair reduction!! haha
Hey ussoccerfan1990, it is looking great! Can't wait to see month 6-8.

UPDATE: Started Finasteride .25 three times a week. 4/29/13
Have started Finasteride .25 three times a week. Let's see if I get any sides. The numbness on the upper back of my head is starting to go away. More transplanted hairs are popping up. Will continue the use of minoxidil 10% daily.

Nick, I assume you are talking FUE? If so, 6$ is about avg. I am not sure the rate of BHT tho. As for FUT I would say avg. 3-4$.

DaSpiv, from your list.. as for me.. Dr Bisanga
I had a HT around 12 years ago when my hair had thinned and the transplant was done in London with , I think, 3 sessions of 1500 grafts. At the time I was pretty happy with the result as it gave me considerable coverage where it had previously been sparce. Since then more hair has gone from the crown and back and what was left at the front has gone leaving only the transplanted hair. With some thickning spray and hair combed back it gives me a fair coverage in the frontal area. I have now had a couple of consultations and several email consultations and all have been fairly consistant in their summery. In all cases they reckon that 2500 grafs can he got from strip and around 60 to 800 FUE is possible. The FUE would be used the make a more natural hair line and basically fill in. The strip grafts would be used to fill in the crown but not really all the way down. I am happy with what I am being told.Being from the UK I was initially planning to have it done in UK but after spending some time on here and taking into account my travel areas I have got 3 surgeons I am considering, and all have very favourable posts made on here. The three I am considering are Dr Bisanga in Belgium, Dr Saifi, in Poland and Dr Path in Thailand.
Would anyone have any preference in any of these gentlemen, and also bearing in mind cost is not a real issue here.

Man that's quite a camera you have! Any growth at this point would be considered early, especially for the crown. Can you feel any new bristles with your fingers yet?
(that's quite a camera you have) My first thought too.. must have a good lens.

Leedanatural, Everyone is going to tell you to try meds and if you experience any side effects lower the dose until there are none.
I understand, I was in the same boat as you. I had saved my money for a whole year before I could get a HT and people made fun of me too, even customers on a daily basis. If people are making fun of you they are not your friends anyways, be strong and don't worry about what they think. Keep improving yourself, whether it be at the gym or going school.
If you stay at this stage of hair loss and still feel you need a HT in the future. I would recommend FUE. You are still young DO NOT let MPB stop you from living your life!!!
i have recently started lipogaine minox and capillogain and also alpha active retard. i really hope it works because my mpb has gotten really over the last few months. i really want to get a ht but dont have enough money and im also to young. i hate being like this it brings my confidence really low and i get made fun of i just hate it (first 3 are from last year the next are me currently after i applied minox and capilogain) -

You can see there is new growth starting to come in too. In another month it should be slightly thicker and it will keep getting better from then on. Thanks for keeping us updated.

UPDATE:First month Close up of the scar with bright lighting 4/23/13
The other photos are a bit deceiving so I took some more of the scar area.. These photos are shot with brighter lighting and some at an upward angle. This should give everyone a better idea of how it is looking at this point. The length of my hair is #4.

UPDATE: A little more about the Journey 3-19-13 to 4-2-13
(3-20-13) I went in for a few cleanings and then took over myself from there, it was simple enough. (Baby shampoo and Polysporin twice daily also Spraying Saline solution every two hours.)
(3-21-13) The swelling hit me two days after my procedure and lasted for the next 5 days. I wasn’t in pain at all and I slept well. Tip: Please make sure you buy a nice U pillow, it helps out a ton! I took the swelling meds and antibiotics until finished.
(4-2-2013) The stiches came out today, it was a little uncomfortable for me, it felt as if I was getting my hair pulled out. I am thinking this is because my skin was healing over the stitches but I am on my way home right they’re out.
(4-2-2013) I made it home safely. It was a long trip, with all the waiting and switching plans and the security was fun too .
Overall, I really liked staying at the Brookline guest house. At first, I thought I wouldn’t like it because I am a very private person but it turned out to be a great experience for me. I am very happy that I stayed there. We all got along very well and bonded together like we’ve been friends forever. We are all still in contact with one another by e-mail. The walk to Dr. Rahal’s office wasn’t that bad either.
(4-3-14) I am starting Minoxidil today, let’s see how it goes for me. Also, I am continuing the use of Polysporin as per instructions
UPDATE: One month post op update photos 4/18/13
UPDATE: One month post op update photos 4/18/13
I thought I would share my one month updated with you. Attached are the photos. As you can see, I've shedded about 90% of the transplanted hairs. My native hair has grown to #4, the the scar is hard to spot, tho if you look close you can see some redness. I have been using minoxidil 10% on a daily basis. I will start taking a low dose of Finasteride next month .I've taken Finasteride 1.25 before.. had the gyno side effect. After I noticed the gyno, I stopped taking it and the gyno went away. My crown looks thinner, I hope it is a shed from the minoxidil, but only time will tell. Let's see what next month has to bring.

40 and a hairline like that.. you are one lucky guy!

- I was thinking to buy 1 mg pills and split them into fours. What do you think about that? It's okay but slowly increase if you are still losing hair. Try to reach a point where you are able to keep your hair and have no side effects.
- Can I see results with .25 doseage? Yes but it depends on the person
- How often do you think I should be taking the .25 dose to have full effect? (They say half life is 6-8 hours) you can take it every other day, 3 times a week, or twice a week, it depends on ones self
Thanks

What is the name of the generic brand for Propecia?
-
charlesforce609, You can get an idea of how many grafts you need by multiplying length by width (measuring in centimeters) then multiple by number of grafts. For example 72 sq/cm is needed to be covered and the density desired is 50 grafts per sq/cm 72 X 50 = 3,600 grafts needed.

Thanks guys. I will post crown pics when Dr. Rahal takes them during my consultation.
Any other thoughts on my proposed approach?
Cant decide, Nice to of met you. How did the consultation go?
