  1. Dr., I never knew saliva secretes hormones? That is new to me after several years of personal study. I know testosterone is deactivated by the addition of hydroxyl groups and it degraded in the liver, but the emission of DHT in saliva is new to me. -------------------------------------------- Diagrams (Effects of DHT): Click Here
  2. Nope, it's BS in my opinion. Nothing special about. The infrared that it emits doesn't even have the proper wavelength to penetrate the dermis of the scalp. -------------------------------------------- Diagrams (Effects of DHT): Click Here
  3. Hey, I started using finasteride 2 years ago. This past summer, I noticed the efficacy of this drug dropped considerably and so my hair started falling out again at the front (finasteride worked miracles for 2 years - I had a full set of hair). I moved on to dusateride 3 weeks ago. The first week went well (no itching). After the first week, my head has started to itch so much in the places it falls out and its falling out too. If I run my fingers through it, it stops but starts again. I take 1 g a day (2 pills) of dutasteride daily. What is causing this itching and will it eventually go away? Is it the immune system that is destroying the hair follicle or something along those lines. Why isn't dutaseride working? Should I give it more time or should i stop using it? Please help, I don't want to lose my hair line at this age
  4. Hey, I use ChemDraw. It cost me close to $1200 to purchase! You missed Adovart - blocks against both isoforms of 5-alpha reductase. Thanks

  6. As a biologist in the field, I've been doing some research on how DHT (dihydrotestosterone) actually impacts the hair follicle. I created an easy to read diagram depicting the potent hormone's effects on men. I've drawn it on this website so that there isn't anymore confusion on why you're losing your precious hair! I found: Decreased blood flow to follicle, causing follicle to progressively shrinks. Decreased keratin (hair protein) production Cell division is disrupted; hair stem anchors itself less firmly to follicle Oil/Sebum invades less differentiated (disrupted epithelial cells) with toxins Diagram URL: (promotional link removed - see comment below) I am not promoting anything; I do diagrams such as these for a living and I thought it could help members out! I don't like publishing them openly in domains other than mine as they are Copyright images.
