  1. If these plucked hairs could last an anagen cycle (2-6 years) this would still would be amazing. Remember that the plucked hairs are being taken from the donor area of the persons scalp, an area that is genetically not prone to DHT breakdown. We will just have to wait to see if hairs last more then a cycle. Again, its comes down to money and percentage of plucked hairs growing in recipient area
  2. From the interview, he mentions that plucked scalp hair has seen better results then beard hairs. He also mentions that hair does regrow in the plucked site. The only problem seems to be the percentage of hairs that are growing at the recipient site. Hes been getting up to %50 percent in hair growing from plucked hairs. If with time he could get it up to %80-90, then we should all celebrate. Then the only problem would be the cost, and if the hairs will continue do grow in normal cycles. IF your rich and have money to go and have many procedures done, then this i believe it your cure to baldness. For the rest, i think we just have to wait and see what happens in the next few months or year with this
  3. I came across Dr Gho new webpage and read about his virtually unlimited donor hair supply technique. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with him, either with a personal consult or an actual surgery. His method seems to be very exciting. I've seen a lot of posts from other people and from Dr Rassman degrading this method, but I personally believe there must be some truth to this method of transplant or esle we would have read and seen patients talking badly about his work, or worst he offices would have been closed by now. I wrote to him asking him some questions and below are his responses. These are Dr Ghos anwsers to my questions. Referring to your questions, I hereby inform you the following: Our goal of a hair transplantation is not to achieve a “dense as possible” result, but a “natural as possible” result. We therefore don’t look only at the present state, but also at the consequences in the future. I was wondering is there a guarantee that all the donor hair will come back as normal hair or will some hair return? Regrowth in the donor area is minimal 80%. The regrowth in the recipient area is 95 to 100%. The re-growth in the donor area will be immediate and after three months of the same quality. If the donor hair returns will this hair be able to be used again, and if yes, how long after can it be used? The same area can be used again after 9 months. Could the transplantation be done by you or or is it always done but someone else? Sometimes on request, and if there is a special reason/medical indication, I will do the treatment, but most of the times, one of my colleagues will perform the treatments. How far off is the hair stem cell injection from being used in the clinics, and what can someone expect from this? At this moment, we are exploring possibilities to train other medical teams or clinics to perform the treatments at their medical facilities, but because this new technique is still improving, we are looking for a practical solution to educate other medical teams and integrate these developments in the future.
  4. I spoke with CEO of Histogen over email and she told me the soonest would be 2014 for overseas and 2013 would be impossible. Figure, if they start phase 1 and 2 trials in Feb of 2011 that would run for one year before results are given. Then phase 3 would start some time in late 2012 or 2013 and then would run for another year before results are given and then it would hit the market. Without funding it could get pushed back again in later trials as it got pushed back a couple times for these first trials. 2013 would be literally impossible. There is promise in these technologies but no one has any idea how they'll go. I want to be optimistic about it but there still in the beginning phases. Anything could happen. The initial phases were promising, and hopefully the next trails show even better efficiency but at this point all we can do it cross our fingers and wait. Lest not over optimistic as we know what happened with other companies and technologies.

  6. Histogen is starting phase I and II in feb 2011 and will last for 12 weeks. Aderans is doing a extended phase 2 trial and have expanded there trials to other states. They are still screening people for the trials. Go to there website to see a place doing trials near your area. Trichoscience haven't started any clinical trials yet but they told me in an email they will start first clinical trials in Oct of 2010. I also contacted Follica but they have no date for starting any clinical trial. I would say our best bet is Aderans and Histogen. Aderans, if all goes well will seek FDA approval by 2015 and Histogen, of all goes well will seek overseas approval for 2014. These dates for approval would be awesome but again, that is if all goes well. Let's cross our finger and hope all goes well in each trails and funding is available. Without good results and proper funding's, trails can be delayed for months, even years. Hopefully this is not the case and our optimism will pay off. We have no idea where these companies will be in 3-5 years and that's a scary thought. Lets just hope and pray they will be close to a solution for baldness. These companies make assumptions on dates but no one really has a clue when a solution will hit market. In 1992 a cure was 5 years away. 18 years have past and a cure is again 5 years away. Lets hope its true this time
