  1. I have to admit that Dr. Ziering doesn't perform much of the surgery. Yes, he claims to have done 15,000+ HT in 10 yrs with most help from his staff. It seems like a true estimate given the lack of personal attention toward patients, not even mentioning cost. On a positive note, the nurses seemed very professional and I only hope they did a good job. I better have outstanding results to recommend Ziering given the price range and lack of respect (not calling or seeing me the day after the procedure). If the hair transplant is not bad, then I would recommend you to travel and get yours done by a top surgeon, or at the very least look for others in the LA area. I'm almost 2 weeks post-opt and I agree with everything said about his ethics, unfortunately. I am trying to keep an open mind though. My hope is the donor scar isn't too bad and the hair transplant was amazing -- at $6 / graft, it damn well better be. I didn't bargain because I felt the surgeon would be offended and not put in as much time. Go figure. Only time will tell if I am happy with the result.
  2. "Also, remember that the hair usually looks thinner in the parted area." What happens if you have another HT? Then would the problem of thinning resolve? It is very easy to comb my hair downward and use toppik, but I would love to do practically any style. I hope this is a reasonable expectation. Thank you for the feedback, doctor. My surgeon did mention that you'll expose the scalp and that generally is not a healthy option as the weight seems to expose the scalp more. but i do like long hair and would love to have this as a natural option [as well as a moderate buzz cut]. i asked because rarely do i see before/after pictures where patients don't share the donor site and even more rare do i see long hair patients after a HT.
  3. it is relative, and different doctors have different answers. i would like to start proscar as it is cheaper have you had a hair transplant? my question is can you part your hair in the middle where grafts were placed eventually? i have yet to see someone with rock star long hair and i would like to eventually have that style
  4. these are my opinions and i am not a doctor 1. there are many fake propecia, even in US. you should be careful. i wish there was a way to test, but all you really can do is buy the medicine that is sealed and watch your reaction closely. i've taken propecia for over 10 years 2. as much as i hate to share my opinion, i heard that proscar is not as effective as propecia. when you quarter tablets that aren't coated like propecia, you be taking more or less of the finasteride (e.g. 1 day you take 2 mg, and then the next you may take 0.25 mg). now even assuming that you get evenly distributed medicine -- that extra 1.25 mg may increase some unwanted side effects. it sucks because propecia is very expensive. i wish i am wrong and i am sure many may disagree 3. not sure. i wouldn't trust buying online. i would assume the same for that particular country (australia) i know you asked someone else, but i am answering questions to try and help in hopes someone will answer my question(s) good luck
  5. does anyone have experience having a successful hair transplant and have their hair parted in the middle? this might be a dumb question, but i am curious if the results are natural, or if it is not advisable to do that because of density issues. hence, exposure to scalp is a mistake. please answer
  6. i was curious if parting your hair in the middle looked natural granted the HT was "almost" impeccable. for some reason, i always see before and after photos with either full density (can be achieved using toppik) or combing hair on the side. i hardly see people grow their hair out long like a rock star. i had my surgery about 10 days ago. thanks in advance
