  1. Hi all. I have had two hair transplants with the same doc. And i have been given the unkind gift of pitting/cobblestoning all over my recipient area. And i mean all over. It is only visible in bright/direct light. But this naturaly includes sun/daylight. And all kinds of "spot" lights etc. And my life is spent mostly in these kinds of lightning. My question is: As far as I have understood pitting is due to bad work from the doc's side, so should I be able to get some kind of compensation for this? Free transplant, financial, anti pitting treatment, or anything like this? Or did he just fuck my scalp up for life without having to make up for it? The result of the operations is not enough to hide the pitting, specially in the front. After close to 5000 grafts I am still almost just as thin as I was before the first operation, only difference is my hairline has been moved slightly forward. This may be because my hairs are extremely thin, but I still would expect more. I am close to out of donor hair, so there is not much hope for me to be able to cover it up with more grafts.
  2. OMG, Mikey.

  3. Anyone know why dr.umar isn't recommended on this site? I know that doesn't mean this forums saying hes not a good doc, just curious..
  4. I wrote my doctor about this and he replied that this was a miss writing what he ment to say was that maybe i cannot expect to much coverage with thin hair. My doc was dr.mazar hussain. He works in norway, denmark and pakistan. I do believe he is a good surgeon based on the consultation , procedure, and general advise ha has given. I'm just not very pleased with his way of handling the fact that this is not a very good result so far. witch is telling me i might have to wait 18 months. When everywhere else one is not expected to wait more than 12 months. Still no reply from doctor mohmand, considering seeking another docs opinion.
  5. Scottishguy You are right the pre op pics were the ones without caption, i have now marked them. I don't have any emidiate post op pics, but as Far as I can remember he put a bit higher concentration in my front, witch is weird to me because that is still clearly the thinnest area. Apart form that grafts were divided pretty equally all over the thinning part of the scalp. He said his goal was to create a "frame" more than providing complete coverage. But I must admit so far I can't say I have achieved any of these. I am fully aware that 2800 will not give me complete coverage, but i was expecting far more than this. I also have a guite small head, so the area to cover isn't really that big. Hopefully more will come through really soon as it is the overall opinion of this forum that if it doesn't then it won't. Strip has so far not been an option to me because of the risks of a obvious scar. Neither do I think my doctor performs strip so it was never a discusson. Besides that he told me that you get just as good coverage with FUE as with strip. Although I have read people saying both things about this later. I can post pics of my donor area but i don't think it is necessary because to me it looks as if nothing ever happened to it. Like I said my recipient area on the other hand is taking very long to heal. For what its worth my hair generally grows really slow, I don't know if this is relevant this long post op. Megatron: I have since month six expressed my worries to my doctor, and recently I also sent him my 7 month post op pic. His reply has all the time been in the same fasion as the one I posted here. A discount has never been discussed, and has not been offered by him. To be honest I still feel like I have to wait until one year has passed before I can ask for anything like this. Even though I must admit I don't have to much faith in seeing any drastic change from now on. I definetly will be having another operation no matter what in persuit of higher density, but I am starting to have doubts about using the same doctor again as he doesn't always have a very compassionate way of replying to my concerns. his reply to me sending him my post op pic was something like this: There definetly are patients who have powerfull growth in 6-7 months, but this definetly doesn't count for all. Aditionally it might be a bit much to expect powerfull growth with relatively thin hair. I didn't think the thickness of my hair should have anything to do with my growth, just the amount of scalp one hair covers. Am I wrong? I think this reply was kinda weird. I have sent an email to Dr. Humayun Mohmand a couple of days ago hoping to get a second professional opinion on this matter.
  6. well, my doctor won't say that anything is wrong. He says that growth will take much longer than 6-8 months, and just sent me an article showing that some growth could take up to 14 months: Slits in the “parallel” orientation > > were used to make the recipient sites. Our most experienced technician > > planted all the grafts in the study. From the time of donor harvest until > > placement, the grafts were stored in iced Petri dishes in Plasmalyte > > solution. The fi ve boxes were transplanted in the following manner: > > > > Box 1: (far left) 55 “skeletonized” 2-hair FUs placed in 0.8mm slits > > Box 2: 55 “medium” trimmed 2-hair FUs placed in 0.8mm slit > > Box 3: (center) 50 “chubby” 2-hair FUs placed in 0.9 mm slits > > Box 4: 50 “medium” trimmed 1-hair FUs placed in 0.7mm slits > > Box 5: (far right) 50 “skeletonized” 1-hair FUs placed in 0.7mm slits > > > > *Results* > > > > The patient had two hair counts performed, one at 14 months and the other > > at > > 19 months. The results were as follows: > > *Graft* *14 Month Survival* *19 Month Survival* *Box 1:* “Skeletonized” > > 2-hair FUs 62/110 (56.4%) 75/110 (68.7%) *Box 2:* “Medium” 2-hair FUs > > 83/110 > > (75.5%) 88/110 (80%) *Box 3:* “Chubby” 2-hair FUs 72/100 (72%) 88/100 > > (88%) > > *Box 4: *“Medium” 1-hair FUs 33/50 (66%) 49.50 (98%) *Box > > 5:*“Skeletonized” 1-hair FUs 23/50 > > (46%) 24/50 (48%) He says judging by amongst other things this that grafts can take a lot longer to grow than the general perception is. I would really like to get the point of view of some other surgeon to see what he/she would think about the looks of my results so far. Because I really think it's weird that my doctor doesn't call this poor or even slow growth at all. But still he really is a great guy who offers an incredible personal service, so I do want to trust him. But still feel like i should check for the opinion of another professional.
  7. Hi everyone! I had a 2800 graft fue performed 7 months and one week ago. Although I am fairly early in the healing process, so far I am very disappointed with the development. I can't find a single example with as poor development as mine, not being judged as a failure. What do you think of mine so far? I started seeing some small growth kick in already in month 2/3, but after the end of month 5 I haven't really seen any more. The hairs probably have a lot of maturing to do, but it's the amount of actual hairs I'm worried about. There are lots of space between the growing grafts, lots more than what I have seen in other operations around 2800 grafts. I also had obvious redness in the recipient area until the start of month 6, and the skin in the front of the area still doesn't look too good with small swells in the hair roots. I haven't seen anyone else with this problem lasting as long as this. I told my doctor and went in to check if it could be inflammation but he said no, and that it would probably get better soon. I have been reading A LOT about slow gowth, etc. here at the forum, but even if I still have as much as 30-40% coverage to come, I still feel like this hasn't lived up to my expectations. Especially regarding that I was expecting to yield much better density from 2800 grafts. Maybe it's me that had too high expectations. But i really don't think so. My doctor told me I wouldn't get optimal coverage results cause of my fine blond hair. But judging from the tons of different result I have seen on this site, I cant find a single one with as poor evidence of growth by the 7th month when it comes to the amount of grafts. Well actually I have, but that one has been judged as a failure. Off course I wasn't expecting a full head of hair from this one operation, but I was really hoping for more than how this looks like it's going to turn out. But then again I might just be another of those paranoid guys I read about here at the forum such as in this thread: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/showthread.php?t=147837?autologin=1&rand=1275505499 My doctor is well renowned and is a very nice guy, but I am starting to get afraid that his techs might have done a poor job handling my grafts. Because until now I really don't see any positive change since pre op apart from in the templets where I didn't have any hair prior to surgery, where there is maybe 10-12 growing grafts pr. square cm now. Please check out my blog and tell me what you think. I will really appreciate all feedback, positive or negative. If better pictures are necessary just ask and I will try my best to provide some. All post op pics are taken in good lightning. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/mikey88/albums/114'>http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/mikey88/albums/114 http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/mikey88/
