I wanted to share my experience about my HT with Dr Ron Shapiro.Firstly I will give you a bit of background information on my hairloss.I first started losing my hair in my early 20's,I intially shaved my head which suited me but being a bit of a hairnut I wanted to get my hair back so I looked into various different options.At 25 I decided to have my first transplant with a company from Europe.It was a strip procedure and I was also on the meds Propecia and Rogaine.the results were fantastic and I had a full head of hair again,however I stopped using propecia and after about 4 years my hair did not look the same and was quite thin again.I decided to have another HT but this time FUE with the same company,I was 31 at this stage and this time the experience and results were not the same,the consultation was rushed and the results were pretty poor.Move on to november 2010.I did my research on this fantastic website and after looking at various clinics to have my procedure,I decided to go to the States and have it done with Dr Shapiro.The whole experience was fantastic,the hotel,the Mall of america,the staff at the Clinic and the procedure.I had a consultation with Dr Shapiro before the surgery and I had another Strip procedure.I have been really happy with the results and plan to have another procedure with Shapiro Medical group later on this year.I would also like to thank Matt for his initial advice to "Get on the Meds" obvious I know but sometimes you need to be told, and also Janna for the follow up emails.This is a fantastic organisation and I would highly recommend having your HT with them.

Hi Everyone I have decided to get back on propecia but it seems it either has some new names or there are different variants of the drug,would anybody be able to explain this to me.Also I would like to know where I can obtain the drug in the U.K. as I have been advised against buying it off the Internet. Hi Blake Thanks for welcoming me to the site and moving my post to the correct forum. I would like to congratulate you on this fantastic site,it has given me everything I need to know about the best doctors and Ron Shapiro seems to be among the best,with your reccomendation I will book a procedure with him and post the before and after results. I need help with one more thing,I want to get back on Propecia/finestaride/proscar,I think it is all the same drug?where can I get hold of it in the u.k? Many Thanks Leon

Hi Everyone I am due to have a third Transplant and have decided to have it done in the U.S. I currently live in the U.K but have found no one with the reputation that some of the leading surgeons have in the states. It is looking likely I will use Ron Shapiro,has anybody had a procedeure with him and would you reccomend him or are there other surgeons I should also consider? I am a new member as of today and would really appreciate you views and comments. Leon
