sunjsun,
have any b4/after pics of ur first HT? I had gotten my first one of 870 grafts about 7 weeks ago, and would like to see the progress that it may make. If u dont want to post them, u can send a PM.

can anyone give advice on soreness in the area around the scar? Today makes 6 weeks, and i still feel sore back there, especially to the touch (like when i wash my hair). most of it is coming from the end area where i guess the knot was made. other than that the grafted area feels great, n looks great... Ive been fortunate enough to have never had surgery before so im not really familiar with this...

dhuge,
just out of curiosity, why not go back to the same doc for your second HT? Are u gonna ask ur first doc his opinion about getting a second procedure done?

As for the minox, I started using it about three two months ago, but stopped two weeks ago-it was just too messy. Anyways, I have had a bigtime loss after stopping. I think that you should only start on minox if you plan on staying with it for a LONG time. If you stop, all the hair you grew or protected will fall out very soon after discontinuing Minox.

Do you think the same holds true with the use of propecia/proscar? If you stop, will major hair loss follow?

Just out of curiosity, what would a follicle look like if you did happen to lose one? I am at 4 weeks postop, and the shedding had just now kicked in heavy, some hairs have lil white bumps at the base.

no responses huh? guess nobodys had a similar experience.

I ran a comb through my hair in order to remove some of the scabs, however, after a few passes I noticed a good amount of transplanted hair came out as well. could this have damaged the grafts? how long does it takes b4 they are permanently in place? some reassure would be great.

i pretty much have the same concern, especially since its my temples/forehead as well which is why I think im gonna let the acne take its course for a while
-
weg,
any particular reason for the acne on the face? Im almost 3 weeks post op, and broke out on my forehead, where I havent had acne for years. What meds do u use?
-
how many grafts? i couldnt access ur link. i wouldnt let age play too much of a role, im also 24, and got my entire hairline filled in. the most important thing is that u feel comfortable with ur doc, and it seems like u found a good one.. i spent a year meeting with and researching different docs till i was ready to do it. as long as u understand that being this young, another HT is is likely a few years down the road.

What is the consensus about working out/lifting weights post-op? My doc said after 10 days 'light' workouts. I wanted to get a general idea of what you guys thought?

anders,
first let me say congrats-- ur hair looks awesome man... second, i read in ur original posting that if ur suture still hurts while the stitches are in, that means they arent ready to come out? I am 8 days post op, and my entire scar/suture is still very sore, did u experience the same scenario?
-
no im not on any form of medication/products although i know i should be. there are so many myths surrounding propecia or minoxidil-- such as once i start i can never stop or else it wont be effective? -- that i dont know where to begin

L'Anonyme,
Thanks for the recomendation. Ill keep these doctors in mind if/when corrections are needed.
Hairbank,
im not sure how many grafts per square cm i got, but u can be sure thats one of the first things i am gonna ask when i go back to get the stitches removed. as for the length, i cut it short for the HT, which after reading some of these posts turned out to be a good idea. thanks for ur sound advice, and ill do my best to keep patient although its very very hard.

I had an FUT. You said that it looks similar to yours... how did urs end up coming out? You have any b4 and after pics i can check out?

After consulting with several different doctors, i found a private practice in Manhattan by Dr. Law and felt most comfortable with him.

hey all...
i had just found this site but wish i had months ago. I am 24 and have been losing hair for about 2-3 years now. After having mulitple consultations with several doctors, i finally got my first HT 4 days ago, but after reading a lot of these posts im kinda secoind guessing it a little. I was a Norwood 2? so I guess my hairloss wasnt overwhelming, aside from overall thinning on top, i had the 'widows peak'. I had approx 800 grafts put in, exclusively on the hairline and peak corners. I could have done more but my doc wanted to achieve maximum density, especially in the hairline. I have great donor hair, so that wasnt a prob. I am not ignorant, knowing that with my young age, a second surgery is inevitable, once the rest of the hair goes. Any advice for me?? should i have gotten more grafts, or was it good to save the precious donor hair for the future?? Will I experience a lot of shock loss?? Gotta say that I am unsure with my decision

john,
I am also thinking about a small FUE procedure in my temple area to finish off what my first HT started... and shaving down the back was a concern of mine. Keep us updated if you find an answer to this, ill do the same...
