Thanks for the input guys. I have dark hair all over my body and scalp, face. My chest hair greatly matches (thickness, texture, and colour) my facial hair and scalp hair. Hair on arms and legs are definitely more on the curly end. I guess the main cases of where BHT was used on temples is Doctor Umar's patients. I think the results turned out pretty good.

I think a good set of post procedure care makes a difference on how well the grafts get hold of blood supply.

To all doctors and patients who've had FUE and FUT, please post your after surgery care instructions? 1. did you had to wear head band straight after surgery? 2. did you had to apply saline solutions for 1-2 weeks after surgery to keep grafts moist? 3. did you apply vitamin E oil to grafts? 4. did you gently pat your grafts to wash it or were told not to touch it at all for few weeks? Hi guys, what do you guys think about using body hair to transplant into temples? I just want to bring my temples forward a bit and better define it. I do not want to use scalp donor as i want to preserve it for now. I got great facial hair and body hairs as well. I think 600 grafts (300 on each temple) would be suffficient. I understand that body hairs do not grow as long as scalp hair. I dont think length is required. Because naturally you'd see people with baby hairs along temples anyway. Plus Doctor Umar used body hair to do this patient. Check out his temples. Finding a recommended BHT clinic that is well priced wont be hard. Tejinder Bhatti in india does it. Will cost me around $2100 AUD which is not much. Plus best part is preserving my scalp donor. I think it will be low risk procedure for me. Just wanted to get some more opinions from you guys. Has anyone done BHT to further add to their already transplanted areas? Thanks

My first HT with Dr Path, he does open technique to harvest donors. Less graft transection this way because the grafts are watched while the skin is cut. And my scar healed up very good, i could not feel the scar nor feel any bald line where the incision was. For my second HT it was with Rahal and I remember a machine was used to slide across the donor area that cut the skin. Meaning there must have been grafts that were transected and not used in the transplantation. And my scar is lumpy and has a bald line. Maybe due to tension. Dont know. But question, why didn't rahal use open technique?

I am from Australia and looking for a good FUE doctor. I've had strip before and do not want to go this route unless necessary. I just want to get maybe 1000 grafts or less just to better define the hairline. I've always had a genetically high hair line. I always wanted to lower my hairline to something that is ascetically pleasing for my face. I've been to one doctor and they said not to go that low so I will be saving my donor hair for later. So I thought to get hairline lowering done. In this procedure the hair line cut at the front and from the sides into the hairline. Scalp is lifted and then pulled forward. I'd get lower hairline plus my donor areas will stay in tact. Its expensive procedure but money isn't the issue. Problem is when I emailed doctors from USA and Australia, they told me since I've had strip taken out at donor area from ear to ear, means my blood supply has been disrupted. And if they do the hairline lowering (which has incision lines from the frontal hairline all the way to the back of the head), that it will further disrupt the blood supply. So they will not do the surgery. So I guess blood supply is not disrupted majorly with the FUE procedure yes? If i did FUE, i could have done hairline lowering..... Is this correct? Thanks guys

Yes i only lowered 0.5 cm to 1 cm. What is the "stick and place" hairline thing? Someone in this forum mentioned that the "follicle" stripping of the hairs for the hairline could be what caused the problem. I thought the whole point of HT was to leave the follicular units the way they are? Stripping double hairs into singles, wouldn't that guarantee bad growth?

I haven't set a date for the procedure yet. I dont know what to do at the moment.

I just cant seem to understand what went wrong in my case. Everything except the scalp hairs didn't grow well. I doubt it was post care issue because I made sure I did everything right.

Hi guys, Ive been looking through Dr Rahal results and he seems to have done very dense hairlines. I read somewhere that he does the usual 59 grafts per cm2 (dense) at hairline, 55 behind that, and then 50 behind that. I do think this is a good plan as you get good strong hairline, and also coverage with more spread out grafts behind the hairline. Instead of the opposite, where you get weak hairline but denser grafts behind the hairline. As you can see there are gaps in my hairline. ive looked at many HT hairlines all over the net. My result is definitely not good.

Here are the pics Today has been 1 year 4 months and 19 days. The result has improved but not much. The scalp area is struggling to grow. I took close up pictures and you can see from the side shots that there are STILL short wispy hairs growing out. These aren't new hairs i believe. The thing is, the hairs grow out, and then fall out, and then start to grow again. Hence why I always see 1-2 cm short wispy hairs all the time. I know this because the hairs that i kept an eye on, have fallen out and started to grow again!!! Plus the scalp transplanted hair is growing at slower rate. I tested this by cutting a 1cm on both my hairline AND temple. The temple one grew faster. I felt the temple hairs with my hands and it feels smooth. But when i felt the scalp hairs, they felt very ridged. It felt like it has ridges and the hair is wiggly. I think these are signs that it could be a blood flow issue. The hairs are struggling to grow. Could be due to graft popping. The follicles maybe aren't deep enough for blood nourishment? comments guys?

I got FUT done though. Not FUE.
