Hi Ken:
In the 70's when I had a full head of hair I decided to take the "bull by the horns" and get some transplants in my crown area when I noticed it starting to thin a bit. That was a mistake because the shock loss was worse than anything. Thus, I have about 15 to 20 plugs in my crown that are still growing.
If you are concerned about making an appointment with Dr. Berstein, let me assure you you should not be worried. I have met him twice. Once in NY and I also attended an Open House in New Jersey. He was very nice as was his staff. In fact, you may want to sent him an email first detailing your problems or concerns. He responded to several of my emails on the same day they were sent.
My initial reason for writing to him was to ask some questions about my sons who are in college and still have very good hair and are not candidates for transplants. He said he would be more than happy to look at them and there was no charge. Frankly, I am beyond being concened about my hair loss. I have four kids and have a lot of things going on. However,I have always taken care of myself-run marathrons, lifted weights, etc. and after seeing the curent state of the technology, I really wanted to get those plugs out. The additional hair will be a bonus if it works as I hope it will.
Good luck and let me know if you have additional questions.
Bill
