  1. Hey...read your post. My heart goes out to you. I know I would probably have felt the same way, like what the Fxxx am I caring about my hair as an event that transcends every imagineable event is unfolding. But, remember, you are only doing something to improve yourself. Being there in spirit is equally important. I am sure this is only minimal consolation, but feelings and kharma go a long way.
  2. Hey shouldIdoit...you are being uber smart. Talk to these doctors, and get more and more opinions so that you have a wide variety of notes to look over. And, personally, I think its a GREAT idea to point blank ask doctors about negative results. A doctor who can say, YES THERE HAVE BEEN ONE OR TWO OR WHATEVER PATIENTS THAT DIDN"T WORK AS WELL, is someone that I would be more apt to trust. Most WON"T offer that up, and I don't like that. So, not liking it is not enough...be proactive, and do it yourself.
  3. Shlomo...Awesome job, and for 4 months, you should feel superb!! Congrats, and more to come for sure.
  4. Hey VM, I remember, that I had a bit of shedding too...not sure to what extent. Definitely check in with a doc, or maybe more than one to get second opinion. As far as sex/masturbation, can't imagine the two (or three)should interfere.
  5. Hey Robbie 15..who was your HT doc? Curious.
  6. I totally can understand your concern. Would you consider wearing a hairpiece or something like that so you feel more comfortable. Hard to think for the future, but I know it is going to look great. I am experiencing some shedding, and my head is still somewhat sore at the donor site/strip. Had the absorbable ones, and three weeks out, there are still quite a few stitches. No big deal just is what it is.xo
  7. Pretty good. Mostly all gone...noone can really tell anything except for the little hairs that are on the crown. I suppose those will fall out soon for awhile, at least from what everyone has told me. HEaling is going great. Some soreness on the donor site, but nothing to complain about. I was kind of freaked to do it, but in the end, it was quite easy, and though I had to travel that was also easy. Stay in touch, and let me know if you have any further qs or want to chat. Best, MikeSF
  8. Hey Mrs Hair, Bummer we missed each other....would have taken you to uhhhhh....well SUBWAY..blah, or something nearby. Hahhah...LOL. But, next time. Anyway, keep me informed of all and good developments. All my best
  9. Mrs. Hair..Hi I was at the clinic just days before you, having my HT with Dr Epstein. Super guy, straight shooter, did a great job so far. I know it is hard for women to lose their hair, I think more than men. But I suffered too..loss of self esteem, self consciousness etc. Very proud of what I did, and of your move as well. CONGRATS to you in a big way..MikeSf
  10. I love that you are at least considering all of the things that we all consider HAPPY. I go through that all of the time..does hair really matter. At 44 how is that really going to give me the confidence that I think having more hair will bring. However, I can say that if you don't like something or you want to change something..losing weight, adding hair whatever, I think the issue is taking control and doing whatever you can do to make yourself feel better is FANTASTIC. But the biggest issue still remains which is not to stop there. Keep getting better in your brain and your heart. Love good, and read and get smart in things you are interested. I think that rounds out the picture. And, yes, looking in the mirror and feeling good about some changes you make on your head and in your abs is to commended.
  11. Hey Steve, So glad you are going for the gusto and doing the procedure. I would love to hear how it goes.I am in the process of searching for the right person for a HT, so all info is helpful. Good luck...I bet you will be really happy.. MikeSF
  12. Hi..I live in Madrid, orginally from the US. Would love to possibly meet Dr Epstein in London, depending when he is going to be there. THanks MIKESF
  13. Hi..MIkeSF here. Not sure the whole Limmer vs not Limmer thing that is going on here. But, being from San Antonio, where they are based, I checked them out. I am considering doing a procedure, and have checked out Limmer, Epstein, Keene and Shapiro. They all have stellar reputations. I have two friends that did the procedure in San Antonio with Bobby and Brad Limmer. They looked phenomenal. They take a conservative approach like the other good ones. So, not sure why they are getting a bad rap. Just my input here..Best to all
  14. Hey Hairfree, I haven't done one my HT and am still looking around, but have heard Dr. Charles is excellent. In either case, from your pic, you will get excellent results from around 3K grafts. Either one should give you excellent results from people I have spoken with over the last few months.
  15. Can't imagine anyone being more obsessed about it than myself. Ever since I have found this forum, I have been on here..almost every day..finding safe haven from my craziness...I am back and forth with my decision making about who to choose, whether to do it..( I know I want to ..but worried that it won't turn out right, my donor hair is weak, I will lose my already existing hair etc....but one thing is for sure...this fxxxking worry has existed since the beginning of mankind..so the fact that during the Roman Empire, gents were looking for baldness cures to me underscores the unnaturalness of losing your hair...going gray, even receding a bit..ok. But losing a body part..that don't feel good!!! So go forth and let's make it happen..both of us...or all of us who want to take control!!!
  16. This is interesting as I a live in the bay area and had not consulted with Dr. Rosanelli. Just curious about his technique. Also, while I wouldnt compromise cost, I AM curious about his cost per graph. I still feel closer to going with Keene, Limmer or Shapiro. But it would be nice to stay in the Bay Area and not travel.
  17. At the risk of sounding like Rodney King....its cool that people give a crap on this site. The bottom line is all of you have great opinions so lay people like myself who are swirling around and ruminating trying to make a good decision have some people like you that have gone through the process. I have a consult with Brad Limmer on Monday and also Ron Shapiro's office. One more with Dr Epstein as well and I am going to ask them to comment on needle vs. blades and placement etc. If any of you want to help with specific questions to use as guidelines so as to obtain succinct information, I would welcome all suggestions. Looking forward to coming to a final conclusion soon, and get on with it..READY TO DO IT.
  18. Guys this is great information. I am so glad this is happening, obviously for my upcoming procedure, but also for all of the future men/women and theirs as well. B Spot, glad your experience with Bob Limmer was positive. I know that they have a stellar reputation and there is still some question in my head as it seems to be for others too about Stick vs blades. In either case, let's wait to get more results and then you guys who are more experts than I can make a decision or at least have an opinion one way or another. Superb inquiry though.
  19. Hey Gorpy.. Congrats on the new HT procedure. From my conversation with Dr Keene, she is really tops in her knowledge and professionalism. She personally called me after my inquiry, as opposed to a sales consultant, assistant etc. She answered questions, responded to emails and seems like she has it together. Most important, she turns out superb work...the most obvious reason you are going back to her again. She may be a bit more conservative in terms of graft/donor/density placement, no? But this is NOT a bad thing per se. Looking forward to seeing your results and hearing your happy outcome. Mike SF
  20. Well, group, I am going to be talking to Dr. Limmer on Monday or Tues of this week. Would you guys like for me to have a list of questions to fire off to him. He seems like a great guy from what my friend said. They ended up being friends through the surgery. And, my friend did some serious research prior to making the decision. So, it makes me wonder and believe that he is doing something right with regards to the Stick and Place method. Anyway, will be happy to let him know about the debate etc...thanks. And let me say one more thing while I am pontificating...it is SOOOO awesome and comforting to have a forum like this...Godsent when you are dealing with this Sh..!!
  21. WOW...lots of info and some conflicting points of view, I suppose with regards to the Stick and Place methods. Will ask Limmer about this issue for sure as I wrap up a decision. While this is an interesting process in coming to the final decision, it sure can be nervewracking. Sure don't want to make a mistake and want the most natural hairline. I am trying to keep my present hairline, not lower it, but fill it in and fill in some of the crown. Thanks tons GENTS!!
  22. Hey Jersey23..thanks for the tip. I will do what you suggested. Should be great for post HT supplements. Best...Mikesf
  23. Hey all, I have seen some postings about using Toppik. What is it and how good does it cover up? Is it mostly after HT work? Thanks
  24. Hey all, I have seen some postings about using Toppik. What is it and how good does it cover up? Is it mostly after HT work? Thanks
  25. Thanks to all of you for the responses feedback. I also spoke with Dr Jeff Epstein's office in FL. Great guy as well. I think it was Salt n Peppa that said it is a combo of artistry and technique that makes a great outcome. I definitely want someone who can do a great job and make it look natural. More that in terms of looking like a huge head of hair. I still have some on top and am looking for density/thickness and coverage. Thanks gents!!
