  1. If I remember correctly after my first procedure you can shower regularly at the 10 day mark so I assume you can put the water on a higher pressure to help remove the scabs - is this ok?

  7. Irish Homer thank you kindly for your response! very interesting link indeed!
  8. Thanks everybody for your responses! However this was totally different from the epi heart racing deal - this also happens when I give blood drop in blood pressure, sweating, nauseas and extreme lightheadedness came very close to passing out. Maybe a doctor can chime in on this??
  9. I have been on propecia for 14 mos and have decided to switch to finesteride due to the fact that it is much cheaper. Am I making a mistake, will I potentially lose hair during the switch? Is propecia better then finasteride? Should I go on proscar v.s. finasteride?

  12. My experience; I was fine up until the doc started cutting the donor area and all of a sudden I felt nauseas, light headed, my blood pressure dropped and I started sweating - A TERRIBLE FEELING! When I told the doctor this he had me turn over on my stomach and he tilted the chair downwards and the feelings subsided. This traumatized me to the point where I want to go in for another procedure but I am scared to death that I will have those feelings again - I actually had it happen 2 weeks ago when giving blood. Appreciate any input you can provide.

  14. Dr. Carman and Dr. Beehner Thanks for your response. Actually it was another poster who said they had a similar experience to the point where thier rate went to 230 - All I know is that I was not monitored for the heart rate and my heart raced after the shots for roughly 10-15 mins then went to normal. Once the doctor started the donor removal was when I started to feel sick, extremely light headed, sweating and could feel my heart rate slowing down which scared me. However once the doctor flipped me on to my stomach tilted downward I felt ok.
  15. Thanks for all your responses - good to see I am not alone. I am going with Dr. Keene in Sept and she is sensetive to my concerns. This time I am taking the valium!!
  16. I just wanted to see if anybody had a similar situation like me when I had my procedure done; After I recieved a handfull of shots to the donor area my heart started racing for about 15minutes - made me very nervous feeling like my heart was going to pound out of my chest(this happens to me at the dentist etc when I am given the novacaine). Once the doctor started removing the donor area I was fine for about 15 seconds and then I started to feel really light headed, sick and my blood pressure dropped. I communicated this to the doctor and he had me lie on my stomach tilted down which got rid of all of those horrible feelings (note I never took any valium that was offered I just borrowed 2 xanax from a buddy) - has anybody experienced any thing like this? I am scheduled to go in for a 2nd in Sept and i am really nervous - I do not want to experience those feelings again. Please let me know your thoughts.

  21. For me the worse part was when he was cutting the donor strip out - I actually felt like I was going to be sick and pass out. It was psychological though because I just started thinking about what they were actually doing to me and how it must look.
  22. Notice: Since some very long topics, like this one, can often have relevant information that is not presented in the topic, we have summarized some of this important information in the below clarification: In this topic, forum member "KevKristy" expresses his concerns regarding his new hair growth at 6 months. Previously, this patient posted as "jddidt" and shared his glowing initial review of his surgical experience with Dr. Epstein and his staff here. He also commended Dr. Epstein's attentiveness as being truly genuine. More recently, using a new name, he expressed concern about his 6 month hair transplant progress originally on the following thread. This patient later explained that he did not mention Dr. Epstein as his physician because he wanted a general understanding of the growth to come in the next several months. Many experienced forum members gave their opinion that 6 months is still too early to draw a conclusion about the final result. However, this patient has made several negative remarks about Dr. Epstein, his staff, and his surgical experience. Some of his statements contradict what he said in his initial positive review. Posting previously as "jddidt", he stated that Dr. Epstein's staff was "professional but very personable and open (not stuffy)". However, posting as kevkristy he virtually accused them of being drunk the night before his surgery, yet there was no mention of this in his initial writeup as forum member "jddidt". Dr. Epstein claims that several days prior to the patient posting, he had responded to the patient by email and made multiple attempts to contact him by telephone to offer him help. This is consistent with the high level of personal care patients have reported and experienced first hand with Dr. Epstein. However; "kevkristy" apparently refused to take calls from Dr. Epstein's and his staff after his post appeared. Given the inconsistencies of some of the patients claims, Dr. Epstein requested an updated photo of his patient's progress. However, the patient refused to provide one. Given these circumstances and information obtained in confidence, we have reason to believe that the photo posted by the patient may not reflect the patient's current degree of hair regrowth. In the interest of fairness, we feel that this relevant information should be included with this topic so that readers can make their own determinations based on all relevant information. We hope that this patient will respond to Dr. Epstein's attempts to contact him to allow for a successful resolution of this issue. We will also be following up with this patient in a few months to see how he is progressing before making a final evaluation. ----------------- Original Thread ----------------- Have you had an HT with Epstein? How was your experience? I am considering him for one.
  23. Has anybody had an HT with Dr. Alexander? How does he rank as compared to a Feller or Epstien? Thanks
