  1. I had a little over 3100 grafts with Dr. Brad Limmer on July 2nd and 3rd. It has now been 24 and 25 days respectively and my wife took some pics today. I have already started to lose the grafts which started falling at about day 18. She tried to take pics of the donor area but it is hard to see the scar due to the hair coverage. About 2/3 of the grafts were frontal and 1/3 on the crown. Thanks, John

  2. You might swell up in a couple of days. My eyes did swell up some on my 4th day but only lasted 2 days. I kept neosporin on my donor area stitches and they fell out on the 10th day. I am now 18 days post op and am back to normal washing my hair and rubbing the graft area but not using the fingernails just yet. The itching will go away at 2 weeks, atleast it did on me. Still haven't lost any graft hairs yet but am expecting to any day now unless I'm one of the lucky ones that won't. Good luck and just keep your head as clean as possible. You should be able to pour a mixture of water and shampoo on your grafts by the 4th day but do not rub. John

  3. I did it in two days, had no problems and have had no problems. Dr. Brad Limmer is an excellent doctor and knows what he is doing. I did have a little discomfort but no pain, it's been 10 days since post op and still have my grafts, they haven't shedded yet and I feel great. I would do it again, I guess it's up to the individual, to each his own. The ones that go to bad doctors, guess they didn't do their research.....Happy growing to all.

  4. Rhodeman, believe me, the grey is there, just can't see it when hair is wet, dry, you can see it big time. Thanks for the pics Jessica and Dr. Brad. I haven't lost any grafts yet and they are starting to grow, feels like bristles all over my frontal and crown. I am at 8 day post op and so far everything is good. I hope the grafts keep growing but from everything I've read, I'm expecting them to fall out soon. Thanks, John

  5. Bill,

This is the closest my wife can get to the meeting scars. It is trying to scab some so I need to put on some more neosporin. Hope this helps a little more. Just want to say that I feel Dr. Brad did an outstanding job, I was never in pain and felt and still feel pretty good. I have been going out, with a doo rag on my head ,of course, but have not have any ill effects or felt bad. I am glad I had this procedure done. Question, how long did you use neosporin? When were you able to towel dry your hair and when can I start brushing my hair? Today is my 4th day post op since surgery. Thanks for any info. John

  6. Scooter,

I am 4 days post op. My doctor advised after day 7 to soak the graft area with a wet wash cloth for about 10 minutes prior to shampooing, this will help to loosen the scabs. I have experienced no problems with redness or pain, just the normal swelling which is already going away. Good luck and happy growing. Slowly

  7. Bill, unless I am mistaken, this photos are all of me. My wife says that looks like my hair and ears....lol....but anyway, I had no prior scars as these were my first two sessions on Ht's ever. Hope this helps and maybe Jessica can say for sure if it is me but I do believe it is. I had no prior scars of any kind on my scalp. Thanks, John

  8. Excellent posts guys and you are correct, you will most definately care what you look like at an older age. I will be 60 this year and care about the way I look now as I did when I was 20. I started losing my hair in my late 40s's and just had my HT the first week of this month and am very pleased with the way my grafts were placed and covered my balding areas. My doctor told me that I still have a good 3000-5000 grafts in my donor area should I decide to add some more later but if my grafts take, I will have plenty of hair to last the rest of my life. I guess my older age is an advantage I have over the younger generation but enjoy your life, even if you are losing your hair, life is really too short. Medical science is progressing very well and there might be a baldness cure in the near future for all you young people. Best to all of you. John

  9. I've read where using saline solution to rinse your hair is fine. I know this was used to rinse my hair after the HT was done. following my doctors instructions, I will be able to gently wash my hair tommorrow for the first time since my HT, sure wish I could do it now cause it's driving me up the wall but will wait till tommorrow. Did you guys have any problems washing your hair the first time? Any pointers? Is this the same saline for contacts? Thanks, John

  11. I had a total of 3000 grafts done, don't know what the hair count was. Dr. Brad took several pictures of the donor and recipient areas and said he would post the pics right after the holiday. I'll get my wife to take some pics as well and post them. Really had a very good experience and found that hair transplatation is virtually pain free with just a little discomfort and the normal swelling. My wife says I look younger since the slight swelling took away the wrinkles off my forehead....lol...Should of done this long ago. I'll keep you guys posted. Thanks, John

  12. Thanks guys, my wife put some neosporin on the suture line this morning and that helped to take the itching away. I will be able to lightly shampoo the back of my head tomorrow afternoon and looking forward to that. Can hardly wait for the 7th day so I can shampoo my whole head. I will keep you guys posted on my progress. Happy growing to all and have a good 4th of July. John

  13. First of all, let me say that Dr. Brad Limmer and his staff are a highly professional team that make you feel at home and will answer any and all of your questions before, during and after the procedure. I had two procedures done, one was yesterday, Monday, and another one today, Tuesday. As soon as today's procedure was finished, I drove 4 hours from San Antonio to my home in Angleton, just south of Houston, and I feel pretty good. I am a little sore but do not have any pain. Jessica made me feel at home both Monday and Tuesday when I arrived there at 7:30am. Zhuling is an excellent technician who numbed the donor area of my head both days without any pain what so ever. The only time I felt anything was a slight pinch when she initially inserted the needle then proceeded to inject the medicine real slow giving time to deaden the area and I did not feel the rest of the injections she gave me. Dr. Brad then proceeded to remove the donor strip. The only thing I felt was a slight pressure while he sewed up the wound. The young lady who was my cutter was Hoang (I hope I spelled her name correct) and she was very meticulous and did a great job of cutting up the grafts. My planter was Anna and I cannot say enought about this young lady, she is excellent and I felt zero pain as she worked for hours both days. I was given Vicodin to take after the surgery when I got back to my hotel room but I did not need it. I did take a couple of Tylenol and went to bed. I did have some soreness when I got up Tuesday morning but was never in any pain. The procedure today, Tuesday, was an exact copy of Monday. Was there any discomfort? Yes, I did have a little discomfort this morning, I was a little sore and did have a slight swelling as was expected. Was I ever in any pain? No, I was not, and even as I type this, 9:55pm central time, I still feel pretty good and have not taken any Vicodin because I haven't needed it. Would I do this procedure again? Without question, yes. Dr. Brad took pictures before and after my surgery and I agreed to have him post them. I won't be able to wash my hair for the next couple of days, it's driving me nuts having my hair oily with neosporin on my donor area. I am very pleased the way Anna placed my grafts and can hardly wait for the growth to set in.

I highly recommend the Limmer clinic, they are an excellent team, do an outstanding job and really care about the patient, there is a family atmosphere that makes you feel at home. Thanks, John

  15. What Janna posted about people having varying degrees of threshold pain is true, mine has always been high. Having gone thru hernia surgeries, torn ligaments, torn achilles tendons and passing kidney stones that lasted over 8 hours was my worst pain ever. Anyway, I will be sitting in one of Dr. Limmer's chairs come this Monday and Tuesday for my two day session, I will be back home Wednesday and I will make a post and let you guys know how it went and what discomfort was involved. I have been looking forward to this procedure for a long time. Later...John
