  1. Japanese scientists identify gene in mice that they say cause hair loss like that in humans. The mice were lacking in the Sox21 gene which is also present in humans, very interesting. This was on the internet in Reuters today. Sounds promising.
  2. Has anyone used Polysorbate 80 with any results? Thanks, John

  4. I am one of the posters that doesn't post anymore but I do come visit once in a while. Dr. Brad Limmer in San Antonio did my 3000 grafs and he did an outstanding job. I plan on going back for 1500 more but will have to wait a little while, this stock market has hit me pretty hard and don't want to take anything out right now. The 1500 will go in my crown, my frontal looks great and is long enough to actually cover the back pretty good. To be fair, Dr. Brad did put in some grafs on the crown but I just want some more. I have actually been complimented on my frontal curls and asked what has happened, I just tell everyone I decided to let my hair grow out, always seems to work. John
  5. I used Johnson's Baby Shampoo, no problems whatsoever and my hair is getting thicker on my frontal just about everyday. I am 5 months post op. Will be going back to Dr. Limmer in March for one more HT on the crown....Slowly
  6. B Spot is correct, I have a friend who got one of those glued on hair pieces at Hair Club, you could spot it with no problem, it would lift up slightly, could see the threads where it was sewn together. After a couple of months, he got rid of it and looks better bald. He spent 3k for nothing. Slowly
  7. Not Sure, it will be noticeable but if you are like me, who cares and in about 4 months you will be amazed at the results. I had a little over 3300 grafs ( 2300 frontal, 1000 crown )and will be going back in March '08 for 1500 ( Crown ) more. It's actually nice to have a nice frontal hair line where your scalp doesn't show thru anymore. Dr. Brad Limmer in San Antonio, TX did an excellent job on me so I will go back to him, can hardly wait cause the wife and I will be taking a trip to Italy in July and it will be nice having hair again. Good luck. Slowly
  8. Hey 99, the shots are a cinch. If the person administering the injections knows what he/she is doing it will be a snap. The first one will sting just a little but if they are administered slowly, the area will deaden and the rest are painless. I will be going back to Dr. Brad Limmer in March '08 for 1500 more grafs (crown). I am currently 4 months 12 days post op and the results are already remarkable, my frontal looks great, I can just imagine what it will look like in another 4. Good luck. Slowly
  9. KamCal, I didn't start to wash my hair till the 10th day to be on the safe side. I started pouring warm water mixed with shampoo VERY gently on my head on my 4th day post op but on the 10th day is when I started to very gently rub my head with my fingertips and NOT my nails. The grafts should start taking root on the 10th day. You will be reddish pink and sore for a good couple of months. Slowly
  10. I did the same thing right after surgery, it bled for a couple of minutes. I am 3 months post op so really can't tell. I imagine this happens alot. Good luck. Slowly
  11. Time, I know exactly how you feel. I had my HT done July 2nd and 3rd, two procedures, and am just like you. Although not as sore anymore, the area is still a little numb to the touch. I tried using 5% rogaine but got blisters so I'm just on .5mg propecia once/day. Doc said to give it 8 to 12 months to start seeing some results, you're right, time has slowed down so we'll just wait. Good luck. Slowly
  12. Received my Revita shampoo yesterday and really like the way it leaves my hair. Since I shampoo in the morning and at night, is it ok to use it twice/day, 5 days a week or should I use my regular shampoo once a day instead of using Revita twice/day? Thanks for any info. Slowly

  14. Going to order some Revita shampoo and read where it's suppose to work better with Spectral DNC, what is Spectral? Never heard of it. Thanks, Slowly

  16. One month after my HT I started using 5% foam rogaine on the crown and frontal areas along with the .5 propecia my doctor recommended. Last few days I have noticed some tenderness, redness and today some blisters on my crown, nothing on my frontal. Should I discontinue using Rogaine on my crown and just use it on my frontal? Shall I start to reuse Rogaine once the redness and blisters are gone? I started using Rogaine on August 13th. Thanks, Slowly

  18. I know what you mean, hell, I don't even go into the pool because of my lack of hair. But after Dr. Brad's surgery, I feel pretty confident that in a few months I will be able to do just that, it's been one month, my donor scar looks good and have already shedded some of my hair like I'm suppose to. Now, I'll just be patient and wait, hell yes I'd do it again, going thru life wearing caps all the time, sucks, money is something you can't take with you when you die so what the hell.....enjoy life now.
  19. I had a little over 3100 grafts with Dr. Brad Limmer on July 2nd and 3rd. It has now been 24 and 25 days respectively and my wife took some pics today. I have already started to lose the grafts which started falling at about day 18. She tried to take pics of the donor area but it is hard to see the scar due to the hair coverage. About 2/3 of the grafts were frontal and 1/3 on the crown. Thanks, John
