  1. man, FIND a way to get to him. i made an appt with him & was very informative & HONEST with me about what could be done in my situation. Honesty is good. and professional.
  2. yo man if your only 22 i would hold off...man i'm 30 and didn't start losing my hair seriously until a year ago. like most guys, though, i thought it would stop & it didn't.. i would wait until you hit at LEAST your mid to late twenties before you get SURGERY! if you still have all your hair by then. if your hairline starts to shrink back then go on propecia. i wish that's what i did at 29, i'd have nothing to worry about now. i lost JUST ENOUGH hair so that i can't wear it like i want...be patient man.. there's always the bald head option works for me
  3. so...maybe an entire year or so before i notice anything? wow. ah well, if it's gonna work i might as well keep it up..If after 12 months or so nothing significant happens, then i guess this just ain't for me..gotta just let nature take it's course!
  4. i'm starting month #4, when should i notice something, if anything at all? i am a lil' thin up top, have all my hair except for a bald spot behind the very front of my hairline. I went to see Dr. Bernstien in NYC he said that the propecia should take care of it & i wouldn't need a transplant(plus i'm not a really good canidate for one ). How long will it take to notice some results? 6-8 months? a full year? longer? anyone in a similar situation? this stuff ain't cheap, & if it's not gonna work i'm not takin it...besides i look good bald..
  5. i am sort of educated about it. i've been reading alot more lately that i've been seriously considering it, that's why i scheduled an appt to s/w Dr Bernstein. My biggest thing is the scarring. cause even with a HT, i usually fade my hair in from the back up pretty close, almost bald, so it adds to my indecision regarding the whole HT thing. and then there's the 'shock loss' thing i've found out about...eek.... I appreciate ya thoughts though. anyone HAD a HT from Dr Bernstien?? good or bad, lemme know!
  6. Has anyone gotten a transplant by the NHI in NYC? I have a consultation tomorrow with Dr Bernstein, and while my hair loss isn't out of control YET, it's on it's way there. Any positive or negative expieriences? I am SERIOUSLY apprehensive about getting transplant surgery done. i've been wearing my hair bald for the past 2 years, nothing new to me really, used to shave it every so often in the summer, but lately my hair loss is beyond noticable, thinning like mad. I look fine with a bald head, if i get a transplant and end up needing 2 or 3 more, is shaving my head again out of the question due to scarring? I know it's alot of questions, but any that y'all can address would be helpful, i would like the opinion of ppl who've had it done besides the surgeon...anyone??

  8. i have a consultation with him next week. glad to hear from someone that had a positive exp w/him. how long did the recovery take? pretty much like he said it would or a bit longer? just curious, i am willing to get this done but VERY skeptical about elective surgery.
  9. i just got the info i ordered from them and it IS vague. boooooo!! i was trying to avoid surgery but it's either that or go back to shaving my head bald i guess. those are my only two alternatives. anyone been to Dr Bernstien in NYC?
  10. anyone seen this yet? supposed to be non-surgical method, no hair weft, no wig, just hair 'fused' to your scalp? i ordered info on it, naturally, if you can get ya hairline back w/out surgery, yippee, right? anyone have any experience with this? good or bad? i'm curious... anyone??

  12. Has anyone heard of Therapro? Anyone use it? Supposedly it's an alternative to using Rogaine or Propecia? I'm looking into surgery, but haven't really seen anyone just yet. Still have the front of my hairline but lost quite abit on the sides, thinning slightly in the back.
