FUE hair transplant

hey all,

im new to the site and looking for advice.. im a 28 year old male..and as you can tell from my picture suffering from some hair loss in from the front and extending back to the crown. I have met w/ 2 surgeons in western canada (1 does the 'strip' and the other fue).. I am leaning towards the FUE but want to find a reputable surgeon. right now i use a lot of toppik (a little bit too much) and i dont like it at all.

any advice or feedback on the FUE treatment? is it really as painless as the doctors make it seem? also - the recommendation was 1500 grafts to do the frontal and a bit of the crown (not all of it) b/c we are unsure on how much more hair i would lose.

in any case - i would like to get a transplant soon (i think) but would appreciate any insight or feedback (and/or recommendations on doctors!!)..

thanks.

Hi Newguy,

Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is a surgical procedure and will likely cause some post-operative discomfort. However, as several surgeons mentioned, it is less invasive than standard follicular unit transplantation (FUT or "strip procedure") and could result in less post-operative down time and discomfort.

However, you are a fairly hair Norwood Level (high level of hair loss), and I'm uncertain whether you're a good FUE candidate and not convinced 1,500 grafts would create an aesthetically significant result.

I highly recommend revieiwng our recommended hair restoration physicians (http://hairtransplantnetwork.com/Consult-a-Physician/hair-loss-doctors.asp) and consulting with several experts about your FUE eligibility and best course of action.

Good luck!
