Guest
Hi Guys, I am thinking of getting a uniform haircut after I get my staples removed this friday (day 9 post op). Now most of my transplanted hair is still there and about half of them have actually started increasing in length (I know they are supposed to fall out sometime). Is it ok if the barber uses a #2 and it cuts through the transplanted grafts as well? Or should i totally avoid the transplanted area and just buzz the donor and the sides where I had kept longer hair to begin with? Thanks

Regular Member spineguy1 Posted October 14, 2007 Regular Member Share Posted October 14, 2007 Morenewhair, First of all congrats on your surgery. It really doesn't matter if the barber cuts the new grafts, the reason they've gotten longer is that they've detached from the follicle and will soon be working their way out, sorry, it's just another peril we have to deal with in order to have "more new hair" Goodluck and post us some pics! Senior Member MrJobi Posted October 15, 2007 Senior Member Share Posted October 15, 2007 Personally I always kept everything uniform. Senior Member Arrie Posted October 16, 2007 Senior Member Share Posted October 16, 2007 Morehair, I would probably ask him to cut the newly placed hair with scissors insted of a clipper, clippers usually tend to sometimes snag hair almost like pulling them. I know your grafts are probably in place right now but some docs say 10 days post op is ideal. Hope it helps. You only live once...
