Bill - Seemiller Posted September 4, 2007 Share Posted September 4, 2007 bechkam7, Welcome to our community. I'm not sure what hair oil is...is this a styling product? Hair Gel/Oil or any other hair products will not cause you to lose hair. How long have you been on Propecia/finasteride? Over the first couple months it is certainly possible to experience a normal hair "shedding" which could be a sign of the medication working. It is best to give Propecia 6-12 months before evaluating its efficacy. If you have been on Propecia longer than 8 months and are still experiencing a lot of shedding - it is possible that the medication is not working for you.
