Senior Member Hairfree Posted April 13, 2007 Senior Member Share Posted April 13, 2007 I am now 9 days post op. Im looking at all the new grafts on my scalp. Its pretty neat how they are now in areas where I had no hair before! Now I am prepared to watch eventually fall out and wait for new growth. I was just wondering why they fall out??? I even read about how some people are able to retain 50% of them grafts post op. I know its rare for that to happen. Anyway, does anyone know what the factors are for why they fall out? Is it the drugs (propecia), what we eat, number of days scabs are on, shock, etc.? It would be cool to hear a doctor or tech explain the process. Look forward to hearing everyone's responses! Senior Member MrJobi Posted April 13, 2007 Senior Member Share Posted April 13, 2007 Hi There are some good explanations on the web just do a search.. Basically they fall out due to shock I believe and then cycle through the growth phase.. I am at 3 weeks and I still have the majority of mine.. I'm not betting on it though JOBI 1417 FUT - Dr. True 1476 FUT - Dr. True 2124 FUT - Dr. True 604 FUE - Dr. True My views are based on my personal experiences, research and objective observations. Senior Member hairbank Posted April 13, 2007 Senior Member Share Posted April 13, 2007 Yep..............most of the time the hair falls out when it detatches from the bulb and there is a dormancy period caused by the trauma of relocating the graft. Time varies but it has nothing to do with Propecia shock or your diet.............I don't think there's a thing YOU can do to control it.
